A professor at the Maryland Institute College of Art has been charged with disorderly conduct and resisting arrest, among other charges, after being forcefully removed from a Southwest Airlines plane. The 46-year-old socio-cultural anthropology professor was asked to leave the flight after she reported having “a life-threatening allergy” of dogs. After the teacher refused to leave, she was forcefully removed by police.

Anila Daulatzai is now going viral after a passenger recorder her being pulled down the aisle by officers. According to the Baltimore Sun, the incident occurred on Tuesday, September 26, on “Flight 1525, which was set to depart Baltimore for Los Angeles about 8:40 p.m.”

Daulatzai was arrested at the Baltimore/Washington International Thurgood Marshall Airport, and charged with a number of crimes. The Los Angeles Times reported that Daulatzai “was taken into custody and charged with disorderly conduct, failure to obey a reasonable and lawful order, disturbing the peace, obstructing and hindering a police officer and resisting arrest.”

She had previously informed flight attendants about being “deathly ill” of dogs. Since she was unable to safety fly on the plane with a dog on-board (who is a certified service animal), she was asked to leave, but allegedly “refused to get off.”

“There was one emotional support animal and one pet onboard the aircraft,” the company said in a statement given to CBS. “Our policy states that a customer (without a medical certificate) may be denied boarding if they report a life-threatening allergic reaction and cannot travel safely with an animal onboard.”

In the video, Daulatzai yells, “My dad has a surgery! What are you doing? I will walk off! Don’t touch me! Don’t touch me! You have ripped my pants off.” According to CBS Baltimore, she also shouted, “I’m a professor! What are you doing?!

According to The Times, “Daulatzai was transported to the Anne Arundel County District Court, where she was released on her own recognizance…She had been removed from the plane at the request of its captain.”

Bill Dumas, who recorded the incident on his cell phone, claims that Daulatzai was acting “odd” and that officers were only following protocol.

“She just lost control of the situation and she was way in over her head by the point that the police were trying to take her out,” Dumas told CBS Baltimore. “It really looks like police were being overly aggressive, but really she wasn’t giving them much of a choice.”

Who is Anila Daulatzai?

She’s a 46-year-old college professor, who specializes in researching violence and outlooks in war-torn countries, particularly in Afghanistan and Pakistan. She previously was assigned as a Visiting Assistant Professor of Women’s Studies and Islamic Studies at Harvard Divinity School.

The Harvard Divinity School bio for Daulatzai reads, “Anila Daulatzai is a socio-cultural anthropologist with active research projects in both Afghanistan and Pakistan. Her current interests primarily circulate around the themes of war and humanitarianism, as well as the related themes of violence and care.”

Daulatzai is currently employed at the Maryland Institute College of Art, where she teaches socio-cultural anthropology.

According to a bio posted by Harvard, Anila Daulatzai “is a socio-cultural anthropologist with active research projects in both Afghanistan and Pakistan. Her current interests primarily circulate around the themes of war and humanitarianism, as well as the related themes of violence and care. She was trained at UCLA in Public Health and in Islamic Studies, and completed her PhD in Socio-cultural Anthropology in 2013 from the Johns Hopkins University.”

The university bio reports, “Anila Daulatzai has educated students on three continents (North America, Europe and Asia). The scope of courses she has taught range from anthropology courses specifically on Afghanistan, critical humanitarianism, transnational migration, towards an anthropology of Islamophobia, critical public health and medical anthropology, and radical ethnography as social science research methodology. She has held teaching fellowships and teaching positions at the Johns Hopkins University in the USA, at Kabul University and at the American University of Afghanistan in Afghanistan, at the University of Zürich in Switzerland, and at the Lahore University of Management Sciences in Pakistan.”

A bomb threat has been reported near the Smithsonian Institution in downtown Washington D.C.

According to police, the bomb threat has been reported in the 600 block of Maryland Avenue in Southwest, in the area of the National Mall and the L’Enfant Plaza Metro station.

Anderson .Paak is climbing up the music ladder.

The 31-year-old hip-hop and R&B artist from Oxnard, California comes from humble beginnings. Paak grew up with a father in the Air Force and a mother who ran a strawberry stand. While he was young, Paak witnessed his father brutally attack his mother. His father was eventually charged with assault and battery, placing him in prison for 14 years.

During his lowest points, Paak told Gigwise that he kept looking forward. “There’s gotta be a better ending to this,” he said. “It can’t be like this.”

He was right.

Paak let his life circumstances fuel him. His current net-worth is estimated to be around $650,000. Now let’s see how he’s come this far.

2011 – 2015

Prior to his music career, Paak worked on a marijuana farm in Santa Barbara. In 2011, he was left homeless with his wife and son when he was suddenly let go from the job.

Luckily, Paak was taken under the wing of Shafiq Husayn from the rap group Sa-Ra. Husayn gave the budding artist access to his studio, where he produced his 2012 debut album, O.B.E. Vol. 1, under the name Breezy Lovejoy. Later that year, Paak went on tour as a drummer for American Idol contestant Hailey Reinhart.

Paak started gaining attention after the release of Venice, his debut album under the name Anderson .Paak.  The album, released on October 28, 2014, blends jazzy vocals with critical lyrics and instrumentals.

In 2015, Paak began working with Knxwledge as the duo NxWorries. Their song, “Suede,” went viral, landing in the hands of hip-hop legend Dr. Dre.

Let’s just say, Dre was impressed.

2016

2016 was a big year for Paak. On January 15, he released his second studio album, Malibu. The album featured several solo songs like “Come Down” and “Heart Don’t Stand Chance,” as well as dual performances with big-name artists. “Am I Wrong,” featuring fellow West Coast rapper Schoolboy Q, has reached over 26,000,000 plays on Spotify.

Malibu also peaked at number 79 on the Billboard 200 chart, as well as number nine on Rolling Stone’s list of 20 Best R&B Albums of 2016.

On January 30, Dr. Dre welcomed Paak to his record label, Aftermath Entertainment. The two artists previously collaborated on several songs for Dre’s 2015 album, Compton. 

2017

Paak isn’t stopping there. After winning two 2017 Grammys for Best New Artist and Best Urban Contemporary Album, the rising star continues to put out tracks. In May, he released a remix to “Come Down,” featuring Schoolboy Q and Ty Dolla $ign.

Paak is currently on tour with two upcoming shows in Memphis, Tennessee and Auckland, New Zealand.

For all the Tweetdeck junkies out there, there’s yet one more way to access the 280 Twitter character extension. The people over at The New Web show how you can get double the amount of Twitter characters by using the Snippets feature on Tweetdeck.

EmailOctopus COO Thomas Evans created a Chrome browser extension that won’t update the counter. However, the extension contains a few lines of Javascript, which effectively alters your settings on the front end to let you Tweet out up to 280 characters.

Twitter user @Prof9 has discovered yet another way to get 280 characters for your Tweets right now. Just use the TamperMonkey Chrome extension, and install a userscript, which will allow you to double your character count on Twitter.

Julia Louis-Dreyfus is a record-breaking Emmy-award winning actress, who announced some rather unfortunate news on Thursday, Tweeting out that she has breast cancer. The 56-year-old star is mostly-known for her former role as Elaine Benes on the hit NBC sitcom Seinfeld from 1989 to 1998, as well as her most recent starring role as former President Selina Meyer on the HBO political-comedy Veep (a show which has single-handily earned Dreyfus six consecutive Emmys).

On Thursday, Dreyfus took to Twitter to share her diagnosis. “1 in 8 women get breast cancer. Today, I’m the one,” Louis-Dreyfus, 56, wrote. “The good news is that I have the most glorious group of supportive and caring family and friends. The bad news is that not all women are so lucky, so let’s fight all cancers and make universal health care a reality.”

Dreyfus reportedly found out that she has breast cancer a day after winning her sixth consecutive Emmy award, according to a HBO rep.

She has spent over thirty years in the limelight, from Saturday Night to Seinfeld to Veep, and beyond. Julia Louis-Dreyfus is the only member of the Seinfeld foursome to break away from that “Seinfeld curse.” Unfortunately, she must now overcome something even greater than superstition. Julia started off on Saturday Night Live, performing in various sketches from 1982-1985. At the time, she became the youngest female cast member in the history of the series. With about a third of the college football season finished, there is a Pac-12 contest between two extremely talented teams. The USC Trojans are currently undefeated and are the fifth ranked team in the country according to the latest AP poll. Joining them in the AP poll is none other than the Washington State Cougars who are also undefeated and are the sixteenth ranked team in the country according to the AP poll. Both teams entered the season with high hopes and a win here could help propel either team to a Pac-12 championship.

The USC Trojans entered the season in the AP poll top five and were expected to compete for a national championship. So far this season, the Trojans are 4-0 and look poised to turn the championship expectation into a reality. However, despite being undefeated, the Trojans have struggled against weaker competition this season. In two of their four games, the Trojans had to rally in the second half in order to keep their undefeated record intact. USC cannot afford to fall behind this Washington State team whose offense will make it extremely difficult for the Trojans to come back.

USC’s offense is led by star quarterback Sam Darnold. Last season, Darnold threw for 31 touchdowns and over 3000 yards. Darnold was the catalyst for the Rose Bowl victory over Penn State as he threw for over 450 yards and five touchdowns. However, Darnold has had some turnover issues this season. Against Western Michigan, Darnold threw two interceptions along with zero touchdowns. Darnold did manage to rebound against Stanford as he threw for four touchdowns but then the issues returned against Texas and he threw another two interceptions. If Darnold plays up to his potential, he is arguably the best quarterback in the country. However, he is going up against a stout defensive unit on the road so an elite performance looks rather doubtful. Having said that, if Darnold can limit the turnovers and keep the time of possession in USC’s favor, the Trojans will still have a great shot at winning this contest.

The slight underdog in this contest is Washington State. The Cougars have looked extremely solid this season and have defeated three of their four opponents by at least 29 points. However, their undefeated season was in serious jeopardy in week two when they trailed rival Boise State by 21 points in the fourth quarter. However, the Cougars managed to rally and beat the Broncos 47-44 in triple overtime. That near-defeat was the wakeup call that these Cougars needed. The Cougars have looked extremely sharp in every quarter of the following two games and are ready to pul off this upset on Friday.

Leading the Washington State offense is senior quarterback Luke Falk. Falk is one of those quarterbacks who has insane statistics in his college career but has not received the national recognition that he deserves. Last season, Falk threw for 38 touchdowns along with over 4400 yards. Falk is an extremely accurate quarterback and has always boasted a high completion percentage as a result. However, the one issue concerning Falk last season was his 11 interceptions. This season, Falk looks more focused on limiting his turnovers and has thrown 14 touchdowns and only one interception in his first four games this season. This game is especially important for Falk due to the hype surrounding opposing quarterback Sam Darnold. Falk has a chance to make a statement on a nationally televised game that he is the best quarterback in the Pac-12 and that Washington State is a team that the AP needs to keep an eye on in the future.

As for my prediction, I am gonna side with the Cougars. USC has struggled this season against weaker foes and now has to travel into a tough environment against an elite quarterback. Darnold has had turnover issues in several games and might be without his top two receivers who are currently injured. Meanwhile, Falk and the Cougars offense has looked like a well-oiled machine and I think that he has a huge game in front of the home crowd.

I will take Washington State by about a touchdown or so. I expect Falk to throw for over 350 yards and three touchdowns which will be enough for a Cougars victory.

Heather Lee Robertson, a Texas teacher and a mother of two, has been sentenced to 10 years in prison for having sex with four high school students, including having a threesome with two of the boys.

Robertson, 38, of Lufkin, Texas, was taken into custody in April and charged with four counts of improper relationship between educator and student. On Thursday, September 28, Robertson accepted a plea deal in a Texas Department of Criminal Justice and will spend 10 years in a state prison. She will also have to cease her teaching certification and will have to register a sex offender.

According to an arrest warrant, the investigation into the Hudson Independent School District teacher began on April 20 when Lufkin police got a tip about Robertson’s alleged involvement with several of her students.

According to the warrant, on Thursday, April 20, the Hudson Independent School District police received information that Robertson had allegedly been sexually involved with several high school students. After obtaining the names of the students who were possibly sexually involved with Robertson, police questioned each one.

One of the students told police that he and Robertson began “chatting and sexting” on Snapchat shortly after spring break, the warrant stated. At some point, Robertson reportedly asked him to come over to her apartment to have sex. The boy then told Robertson that a friend was with him and asked if it was OK if he came over, too, and she said it was fine, the student told police.

The boys said that when they arrived to the apartment, Robertson was lying on the couch vaping, according to the warrant. After speaking with the boys for a few minutes, Robertson told them to follow her to her bedroom, where she began taking off her clothes before having sex with both students at the same time, according to the warrant.

The boys told police that there were two other students who had possibly been sexually involved with Robertson, the warrant stated. Police then spoke with the two other students, who said they had sex with her at her apartment on multiple occasions.

If convicted of her charges, Robertson faces up to 20 years in prison. It doesn’t look too good for her either, as it seems she admitted to committing the crimes.

When confronted by police, Robertson allegedly admitted to the illicit affairs, court records show. She “advised she recently became a heavy drinker and would sometimes not remember the details of the sexual encounters with the students,” the affidavit alleges.

Robertson remains in custody on an unspecified amount of bail and it was not clear if she has entered a plea.

Robertson has since resigned from her job.

When I first glanced at the cover art, I am consumed by the bright, vibrant pop art vibe. She appears to have shorter, gelled hair while wearing an ornate jacket and pants combination. Etched on the back of her jacket is Younger Now, the album’s title. Looking to remove herself from the provocative reputation she had developed while promoting Bangerz, promotional efforts for Younger Now associated Cyrus with an increasingly conservative image.

When I first listened to her first song, “Younger Now,” the beginning instrumentals mimicked a storm and the croaks of frogs. Her vocals resemble one of reminiscence, an echo of her soul or mind telling her how she feels. The fusion of the drums crashing in the background and the light guitar strumming explicitly gels the song together positively. I feel that I can listen to this title during a long ride on the train, contemplating about life. “Malibu” creates an aura of chill and relaxation. It is the type of music you would listen to riding a bike down the boardwalk on the beach. Her vocals are smooth and soothing. As for “Week Without You,” the groove and the flow of the music are therapeutic and uplifting. The lyrics are powerful and sweet. Overall, the album evokes conservatism, love, youthfulness, passions, reminiscences, and deep thoughts of life.

While observing the cover art, her beautiful, sharp facial features embody the whole physical album space. I love how she incorporates black and white color to signify something deeper and original, or something more traditional and retro. On her wrist and hand, you can see her noticeable tattoos.

When listening to the album, I am exposed to her first song, “Sorry Not Sorry.” Her soulful voice and her semi-loud holler create an aura of assertiveness and courage. I enjoy the background vocals that support and mesh with her overpowering voice. The piano chords and the gospel choir, who often echo back her words, elicit a sense of jazzy and emotional energy. As for “Tell Me You Love Me,” the tune is much more profound in terms of its message. Lovato expresses her deepest desires and feelings. “Sexy Dirty Love” caught my eye as I glanced the tracklist. The title drew me into curiousness. The song ultimately did not disappoint me. I felt in a realm of bliss and temptation. Fusing the electronic beats and her contagiously energizing voice, the current of the song is one of upbeatness and electricity. My body keeps moving to the groove. In summation, I enjoyed the album, and it’s good to have the new yet original Demi Lovato back from her brief hiatus from music.

You ever spend a day doing something (like apple picking with your girlfriend), and when its all over, think to yourself, “Man, what a waste of a day?”. Now, imagine having that feeling about an entire decade.

If I was Robert Sutton, a professor of organizational behavior and engineering at Stanford University, that exactly how I’d feel after I just spent 10 years studying a**holes. For his book, “The A**hole Survival Guide”, Sutton spent more than 10 years of his career “deciphering the a**hole and the havoc they can cause for people”, in an effort to figure out the best methods to avoid them.

This isn’t Sutton’s first foray into studying a**holes, as his first book, “The No A**hole Rule”, was published in 2007.

Speaking to The Daily Mail, Sutton explained his obsession with a**holes and why he’s spent so much of his career studying them. The most interesting part of the discussion, though, was when Sutton revealed his four different types of a**holes: the Machiavellian, the Backstabber, the Purposefully Obvious, and the Clueless A**hole.

1. THE MACHIAVELLIAN

Machiavellianism in modern psychology is someone that is focused on self-interest and personal gain. These people take pleasure in someone’s else’s pain as it helps them reach their own goals in life.

Sutton described this person as nasty to a person’s face and not afraid to show that behavior.The Machiavellian type doesn’t hide from their a**hole behavior. Instead, they embrace it because they think it is what is helping get them to where they want to be.

2. THE BACKSTABBER

The Backstabber is more strategic about how they are an a**hole to others because they don’t always want to be portrayed as one. Sutton said the backstabbers can be the most dangerous because they pretend they are on your side for as long as possible before they no longer need you.

“They are more strategically competent a**holes. They kiss up and knock down people around them,” Sutton said.

3. THE PURPOSEFULLY OBLIVIOUS

This person acts as if they don’t know someone when they actually do. Instead of acknowledging a person, they will pretend they have no idea who they are in order to belittle them as much as possible.

This type of a**hole might not think they are being one because they aren’t saying anything, but their lack of acknowledgment speaks volumes. Sutton explained that power can make people feel like they are above others and therefore think they are allowed to behave this way.

4. THE CLUELESS A**HOLE

This person doesn’t even realize they are acting horrible to someone unless it is pointed out to them. Sutton said it’s best for people to surround themselves with those who are not afraid to tell them if they are acting like an a**hole.

But most importantly, it is on each and every person to recognize their own actions and how it can be perceived by others.

The rest of the article delves into how a**holes have learned how to thrive in the workplace and how to avoid said a**holes, and while interesting, all Sutton had to do was spend 20 minutes with my ex-girlfriend and he would have learned everything he needed to know.

According to WLTX,  Buckley hit speeds of over 140 MPH on his way to see his girlfriend down in Mrtyle Beach.

At about 11:30 pm on the night of September 22, 2017 a Kershaw County Sheriff’s Office deputy assigned to the Traffic Unit arrested Liam Chou Buckley, 20 of Myrtle Beach after the officer clocked Buckley driving 141 MPH on I-20 in Kershaw County.

Just prior to midnight on September 22, 2017 a KCSO deputy assigned to the traffic unit observed a 2005 Corvette travelling eastbound on I-20 near the 87 mile marker at a very high rate of speed. The deputy determined through radar that the Corvette was being driven at 141 MPH, more than twice the speed limit of 70MPH.

The deputy was able to stop the Corvette which was being operated by Buckley and when asked why he was going so fast, Buckley stated that he was on the way to Myrtle Beach to see his girlfriend. The deputy provided Buckley with a traffic citation for speeding 25+ MPH above the speed limit and transported him to the Kershaw County Detention Center where he spent the night before being released on his own recognizance.

As a red-blooded male who’s done some pretty reckless things for the p*ssy, driving 141 MPH certainly crosses the line. 100 MPH? Sure, I can reason that. But doing twice the legal speed limit to get a nut off is as “letting your d*ck do the thinking” as it comes.

Erin Lee Macke, a 30-year-old Iowa mother, was arrested on Thursday, September 28, after she left her four kids home alone to go on a trip to Germany.

Macke, 30, was charged with four counts of child endangerment and one count of making a firearm available to a person under the age of 21 after she jettisoned off to Europe for an 11-day-trip while her children sat at home.

Back on September 21, Johnston, Iowa police were called to Macke’s home after receiving a report that four children were left unsupervised in the home.

Responding officers found Macke’s four children, ages 12, 12, 7, and 6.

Upon further investigation, police learned Macke left the country on Sept. 20 and was not scheduled to return until Oct. 1. She made no arrangements to provide supervision of the children while she was away, according to police.

The Iowa Department of Human Services took custody of the kids. Police called Macke while she was in Germany and demanded she return home. Once she returned, she was arrested. She is currently booked in Polk County Jail with no bond. The children are staying with family members.

While Macke didn’t plan on returning until October 1, police contacted her in Germany and demanded she return home upon learning of the incident.

She now faces four counts of child endangerment and one count of making a firearm available to a person under the age of 21. Each count of child endangerment carries up to a 10-year sentence and $10,000 fine.

Iowa Department of Human Services took custody of her children, who have been placed with extended family members.

Macke is currently being held without bond at Iowa’s Polk County Jail.

Every week, fantasy owners meticulously analyze their rosters and are faced with the dilemma of who to start and sit. As injuries pile up and the waiver wire fluctuates wildly, it becomes paramount to know which player has the best chance to accumulate the most fantasy points in a given week. While making this immensely important decision can seem incredibly intimidating at first, a more in-depth look at specific match ups along with each players unique skill set can be helpful in alleviating some of this pressure. Although there are rarely sure things in fantasy football, thoughtful owners can give themselves a leg up on the competition by, at the very least, taking a few extra minutes to gauge a players scoring trends and see how they fare week to week against their designated opposition.

Tyrod Taylor, QB, Buffalo Bills (vs. Atlanta Falcons)

Although Tyrod Taylor may not be the most accurate or efficient passer in the NFL, his capabilities as a runner and as a deep passer make him a uniquely valuable asset in fantasy football. Against one of the best secondaries in the NFL, Taylor methodically picked apart the defense of the Denver Broncos as he completed 20 of his 26 passes for two touchdowns. What was particularly notable about this performance was that Taylor was not forced to use his legs to move the ball as he rushed for just 18 yards. Against the Atlanta Falcons, Taylor can be expected to look like the dual-threat offensive threat he has been throughout his career as the Falcons have given up 245.7 passing yards per game while allowing opponents to rush for 4.8 yards per attempt. If Taylor can exploit these weaknesses in the Falcons defense, he could easily put up his best fantasy score of the season.

Emmanuel Sanders, WR, Denver Broncos (vs. Oakland Raiders)

It’s no secret that the Oakland Raiders have one of the most porous defensive secondaries as they allowed Kirk Cousins and the Redskins to pass for 365 yards and three touchdowns. When you consider what Emmanuel Sanders has done against soft defenses this year (10.2 yards per reception), it becomes clear that the Raiders are poised to be gashed downfield again. Couple that with Sanders’ average yards after the catch statistic for his career (4.2 YAC) and the number two wideout should be able to garner big chunks of yardage while being a constant threat in the end zone.

Leonard Fournette, RB, Jacksonville Jaguars (vs. New York Jets)

While it’s almost always a safe bet to start any player against the jets, if you have a prolific running back on your roster you’re nearly guaranteed a high-scoring day for that player. Relinquishing 133.3 rushing yards per game, the Jets’ front seven is paper thin and will certainly have a difficult time stifling the six foot, 228 pound rookie running back. Although Fournette averages a pedestrian 3.5 yards per rush attempt, he more than makes up for it with his heavy workload. Even if Fournette does not achieve a 100-yard rushing day, his carries in the red zone will allow him to garner a massive point total by the end of the day.

Cameron Brate, TE, Tampa Bay Buccaneers (vs. New York Giants)

One of the most shutdown secondaries in the league last year, the New York Giants have been become considerably more penetrable in this regard as they have allowed opposing receivers to go off for 9.4 yards per receptions. Specifically, the Giants have had issues stopping tight ends in the receiving game as they allowed Eagles tight end Zach Ertz to catch eight receptions for 55 yards and one touchdown. While Cameron Brate can not be considered as prolific as Ertz as a receiving target, he has proven to be a reliable intermediate receiving target for quarterback Jameis Winston. Against the vigilant Vikings secondary, Cameron Brate caught four receptions for 33 yards and a touchdown. While the target shares could be better, Brate is at his best in the red zone and will certainly be in a position to be utilized much more consistently against an inferior Giants defense.
