On Tuesday, Attorney General Sessions criticized American colleges and universities for being too “politically correct,” infringing on students’ free-speech rights and capitulating to the demands of loud protesters.

While speaking at in front of dozens of protestors at Georgetown University Law Center, Sessions cited a study that surveyed 450 colleges and universities and found that 40 percent have codes that “substantially infringe on constitutionally protected speech.”

“Freedom of thought and speech on the American campus are under attack,” Sessions said. “The American university was once the center of academic freedom — a place of robust debate. But it is transforming into an echo chamber of political correctness and homogenous thought, a shelter for fragile egos.”

Furthermore, Sessions claimed the DOJ is filing a “statement of interest” in a campus free-speech lawsuit filed by students at Georgia Gwinnett College.

Students at Georgia Gwinnett College are challenging a policy that limits students’ expressive activity to two small free-speech zones, requires students to obtain approval from campus officials and restricts their activity to a specific date and time.

Session’s comments come on the heels of the cancellation of a “Free-Speech Week” at the University of California at Berkeley.

Up to 1,400 Cal Poly Tech students have been evacuated from campus due to wildfires. Students in the Sierra Madre and Yosemite residence halls were forced to evacuate.

Cal Poly Tech officials say that the evacuated students are safe and are being moved to Mott Gym, which the school has turned into an evacuation center.

California fire departments say that the “Poly Fire” started around 3:20 PM on Tuesday, burning 97 acres as of Tuesday night. They also say the fire is about 20-percent contained.

Officials say the fire is approximately 80 acres and appears to be moving away from campus.

Air tankers will take off Wednesday morning to further douse the fire. Meanwhile, students have returned to their dorm rooms. Fire alarms sounded inside Sierra Madre and Yosemite residence halls shortly after the fire began Tuesday afternoon, surprising many living in the dorms.

“The fire was 30 feet away,” said Kennedy Skinner Plunkett, a Cal Poly freshman.

“Once we saw the brush burning, we ran back in and got our laptops and booked it out,” said Jonathan Uhler, a freshman at Cal Poly.

Many students grabbed their homework, technology, and, in some cases, pets.

“As soon as we heard the fire alarms, I immediately grabbed my fish and then I was like, ‘Well, I should probably grab my homework,'” Plunkett said.

Students were given the all clear to return to their dorms around 8 PM.

The San Luis Obispo City Fire Department says the main body of the fire is under control, however, they’ll continue be working on hot spots to ensure the fire doesn’t spark up again.

Kathleen Regina Davis, a 58-year-old woman in Florida, has been charged after she tried to run over her daughter’s 33-year-old boyfriend after he exposed the pair’s affair to her daughter.

Davis, 58, told police she wanted to kill her daughter’s boyfriend after he admitted that the two had an affair. According to police, Davis, from Jupiter, Florida, drove to the man’s home on September 20, throwing eggs at his house and cars.

Police say they saw Davis drive in circles in the man’s front yard while she was trying to hit him with her Mercedes. Furthermore, she did donuts in front of the man’s house as police watched.

The boyfriend, now identified as 33-year-old Michael Sciarra, said he was no longer with Davis’ daughter and told cops Davis nearly hit him with her car several times. Davis admitted to police that she had an affair with Sciarra while he was with her daughter, whose age was not specified.

Davis, 58, admitted to Palm Beach Gardens police she had an affair with the 33-year-old man while he was with her daughter, the report said. Davis said the man ruined her relationship with her daughter after he told her of the affair.

That led Davis on Sept. 20 to the man’s house in the 4400 block of Crestdale Street, west of Interstate 95 and north of Northlake Boulevard, where she allegedly tossed several eggs at his residence and vehicles. When police arrived, they saw Davis driving in circles in the front yard of the house while attempting to hit the man with her Mercedes.

The man told police he was nearly hit by Davis’ vehicle multiple times. Davis told officers she wanted to run the man over and wanted him to die. The police report refers to the man’s relationship as an ex-boyfriend to Davis’ daughter. But records show that the man and Davis’ daughter are married. The couple is in the midst of divorce proceedings, according to records.

Davis is facing a charge of aggravated assault with a deadly weapon without intent to kill and was released from the Palm Beach County Jail on Sept. 22 after posting a $3,000 bond.

Last night, Twitter CEO Jack Dorsey announced the change, saying that the 140 character limit was just an “arbitrary limit” based on the 160 character SMS limit.

Twitter’s stock has been on the downturn for some time now, so this reeks of a desperation move to shake up the platform and bring people back to the service.

Republican Rep. Scott DesJarlais said he did not think Manning would run for Corker’s seat, but instead could be eyeing Sen. Lamar Alexander’s seat in 2020 if he chooses to retire as well.

He’s one of the greatest and most marketable quarterbacks of all-time, running in the state he played college football — who wouldn’t vote for him? I’ve never voted in a Senate race before, but if Peyton Manning was running in my district, you bet your ass I’d register myself to vote just so I could vote for him.

On September 26, hip-hop artist Young Dolph, 32, was shot multiple times outside of the Loews Hollywood Hotel in Los Angeles after an argument with three men turned physical.

During the fight, Dolph fell to the ground, which is when one of the unidentified men shot him several times. Dolph survived the gunshots and stood up to run into Shoe Palace on Hollywood Boulevard. Two of the suspects ran away, while the third got into a gold Cadillac Escalade and drove it to a nearby gas station. The suspect then got out of the vehicle and ran, leaving the SUV behind.

Dolph, whose real name is Adolph Thorton Jr., was taken to a nearby hospital in critical condition, where police say he is expected to survive.

Police had not found any weapons inside the vehicle, and it’s unclear who owns it. Detectives have detained one man for questioning, but it was unclear whether he was one of the three involved in the fight.

Video from the scene showed police had taped off Highland Avenue and Johnny Grant Way, just steps from Hollywood Boulevard, which was open to the usual glut of tourists, vendors and street performers in costumes.

Young Dolph was scheduled to perform at the Marke in South Los Angeles on Thursday before traveling to Georgia to open for hip-hop star 2 Chainz next week.

Now just one day after the shooting, “Rake It Up” rapper Yo Gotti, born Mario Mims, has been listed as a person of interest in the shooting.

According to TMZ, Los Angeles law enforcement said that both Yo Gotti and Young Dolph were both staying at the Loews Hotel in Hollywood Tuesday when their crews got into some sort of disagreement. We’re told just a short time later, shots were fired outside the hotel. TMZ reports that police obtained this information after witnesses at the scene told him that Mims was involved.

Police said they are investigating whether or not Dolph was targeted as part of a hip-hop rivalry more than six months after surviving a hail of gunfire shot at his SUV in North Carolina.

Ten Confederate flag posters were found in four American University buildings on the night of Tuesday, September 26.

According to The Eagle, American University’s school newspaper, the racist fliers were found in the Battelle-Tompkins building, the McKinley building, and in the Mary Graydon Center on the same night a presentation was being held by Dr. Ibram X. Kendi, the professor who founded the school’s new Antiracist Research and Policy Center.

Furthermore, The Eagle said they discovered a flier in the basement of the Kogod School of Business.

The fliers were pinned to bulletin boards with cotton stalks taped to them. The posters also had the phrases “Huzzah for Dixie” in large letters and “I wish I was in the Land of Cotton” in smaller font. The back of the fliers had the words “D.C. Counter Resistance” inscribed above a logo of two white ovals over a black background. DCist reported that fliers bearing the same name and logo were discovered near Takoma in August.

The incident occurred on the same night that Dr. Ibram X. Kendi, a new professor who founded the Antiracist Research and Policy Center at AU, gave a presentation about his plans for the center.

“We are well aware this act occurred the same evening Dr. Ibram Kendi presented ‘A Vision for Equality,’ an introduction to the Antiracist Research and Policy Center,” Aw said in a statement. “AU is committed to the vision of the Center and Dr. Kendi’s work and we will not be deterred by this cowardly attempt at intimidation.”

Dr. Kendi, a new professor who founded the school’s Antiracist Research and Policy Center, posted a message to Twitter for American University students, particularly students of color and Jewish students, telling them not to “let these terrorists slow you down, fear you down.”

This is not the first time a racial incident has happened at American University, as a philanthropy event was canceled to due “cultural appropriation” in April, and bananas were found hanging from nooses back in May.

Game Of Thrones eighth and final season begins production next month, meaning the long, dark night that is a Game Of Thrones-less world is heading our way, but not before we get 6 final episodes of Westerosi excellence.

Sure, the final season of the world’s biggest show will only consist of six episodes, BUT, those six episodes are rumored to each be feature length, and each cost upwards of $15 million dollars. Not only that, but we now know who will be directing those final six episodes, and let me tell you, it is the murderer’s row of Thrones directors.

HBO has announced the list of directors who will helm season 8 episodes, and there are only 4 of them (but really three).

First is David Nutter, a Game Of Thrones veteran who has directed classics such as “The Old Gods and the New”, “A Man Without Honor”, and maybe the show’s most famous episode, the Red Wedding, “The Rains of Castamere”. He also helmed the final two episodes of Season 5, “The Dance of Dragons” and “Mother’s Mercy.”

Second is Miguel Sapochnik, the homerun hitter who has directed “The Gift”, “Hardhome”, “Battle of the Bastards”, and “The Winds Of Winter”. Sapochnik is one of the best directors the show has ever had, as “Hardhome”, “Battle” and “Winds of Winter” are three of the series’ finest hours.

Finally, showrunners David Benioff and D.B. Weiss will obviously be helming the series finale. The duo has only directed one prior episode of the series, the season four premiere “Two Swords”.

All known quantities in the Game Of Thrones universe, HBO is clearly bringing in the big guns to wrap up the biggest television show of all time. The final season of GoT is expected to air sometime in 2018, and we, just like you, can’t f*cking wait.

WWE 2K18 DLC and Season Pass details announced2K announced Wednesday the Season Pass and downloadable content offerings for WWE 2K18, adding a new competitive level to the highly anticipated WWE video game.

The return of The Hardy Boyz, the accelerated track to MyPlayer stardom and a slew of new moves are among the offerings included in the WWE 2K18 DLC packs. Moreover, the WWE 2K18 Season Pass will include access to all of these announced DLC offerings.

2K confirmed details for five DLC packs, each designed to boost the WWE 2K18 roster, the in-game move sets and playable character attributes. The renowned video game publisher will begin releasing the individual DLC packs in late 2017 for PlayStation 4, Xbox One, Nintendo Switch and PC.

Players looking to pick up all of these DLC packs and save a little money can also purchase the WWE 2K18 Season Pass. For only $29.99, Season Pass subscribers can gain access to the DLC offerings listed below as they become available.

Details for each WWE 2K18 DLC pack are as follows:

Accelerator (available for $4.99)

* Players will gain access to all unlockable content available at launch in the game’s VC Purchasable section (excluding downloadable content).

* Players can also decide the overall rankings and attribute levels for all playable characters throughout the life of the product.

* The Accelerator will be available for $4.99.

Enduring Icons Pack

* Playable WWE Superstars: Matt Hardy, and Jeff Hardy

* Playable WWE Hall of Famers: Beth Phoenix, and The Rock ‘N Roll Express

* The Enduring Icons Pack will be available for $9.99.

MyPlayer Kick Start

* Players will gain access to unlock and boost MyPlayer ratings and attributes made available at launch as part of the game’s MyCareer mode.

* Players can also unlock all clothing made available at launch that provides attribute boosts in MyCareer.

* MyPlayer Kick Start will be available for $9.99.

New Moves Pack

* Explore a wide variety of new in-game moves, including the Tye-Breaker (made popular by Tye Dillinger); the Crash Landing (made popular by Kassius Ohno); the Pumphandle Death Valley Driver (made popular by Akam); and the Swinging Sleeper Slam (made popular by WWE Hall of Famer Diamond Dallas Page).

* The New Moves Pack will be available for $3.99.

NXT Generation Pack

* Playable WWE and NXT Superstars: Aleister Black, Drew McIntyre, Elias, Lars Sullivan and Ruby Riot.

* The NXT Generation Pack will be available for $9.99.

WWE 2K18 is not yet rated by the ESRB and is currently scheduled for worldwide release on Tuesday, Oct. 17, for PlayStation 4, Xbox One and PC, as well as in Fall 2017 on Nintendo Switch.

Former WWE Women’s Champion Beth Phoenix made the cut, and will be available in the Hall of Fame DLC. You’ll also be able to play the legendary tag team Rock ‘n’ Roll Express, with Robert Gibson and Ricky Morton.

Five top NXT superstars will also be available to download. You can play as Aleister Black, Elias (now a WWE Raw superstar), Lars Sullivan, Ruby Riot, and NXT Champion Drew McIntyre.

Rick Pitino has been fired as the head coach of Louisville’s men’s basketball team.

ESPN reports that Athletic director Tom Jurich was also fired after the program was linked to a federal investigation into fraud and corruption in recruiting. According to sources, former Louisville athletic director Tom Jurich was asked to fire Rick Pitino, he refused, and then both were fired.

On Wednesday morning, both Pitino and Jurich met with Louisville interim president Greg Postel. After the meetings, Postel informed reporters that the school would hold a news conference at 1 PM and stated that Pitino and Jurich would not attend.

On Tuesday, September 26, federal prosecutors announced fraud and corruption charges in college basketball, including against 4 coaches.

The coaches who have been arrested are Auburn assistant Chuck Person, Oklahoma State assistant Lamont Evans, Arizona assistant Emanuel Richardson and USC assistant Tony Bland. They were four of ten people charged in New York City federal court. Furthermore, the U.S. DOJ announced that those charged include “managers, financial advisors, and representatives of a major international sportswear company.”

The documents said that the investigation revealed numerous instances of bribes paid by athlete advisers, including financial advisers and associate basketball coaches, to assistant and associate basketball coaches to exert influence over student-athletes.

In the investigation documents, the FBI released evidence that a Louisville assistant coach planned to send $100,000 to the father of an All-American recruit, who is believed to be freshman forward Brian Bowen.

Inside the Jim Beam Vanilla launch party in New York City, you could see acrobats swinging from hoops attached to the ceiling, with lights dimmed giving off an almost neo-noir atmosphere. One feminine acrobat in white turned upside-down to pour me a half-full glass of bourbon. Liquor was served freely to the live crowd enjoying the occasion and listening in to Wild Belle playing their latest hit onstage. World-famous actress and party host Mila Kunis even appeared to talk about the product.

But before I walked towards the area of light and sound, I was brought to a longue with a nearby bar. I sat down and was greeted by the seventh generation Master Distiller of Jim Beam, Fred Noe. We spoke about his family’s bourbon, and the legacy of Jim Beam dating back 200 years.

Even though, Noe’s family business involved bourbon, his father instructed him to put partying aside and focus on his education. “It wasn’t like my dad was letting me taste whisky while I was kid,” says Noe. “He really pushed me away from it, and wanted me to finish college before I even considered working for Jim Beam.”

Fred Noe also mentioned hanging out with rock superstars such as Hank Williams Jr. and Kid Rock, and his Nascar sponsorship. “I met a lot of good people, when I was much younger, hanging out with Hank Williams, Jr, drinking a little bourbon with Hank while he sang “Family Tradition” on stage.”

Noe reflected upon his company’s partnership with Kid Rock and Nascar. He said that it was very fun hanging out with Kid Rock at Nascar races. He says that the Jim Beam car hasn’t won much, but either way, he’s had a lot of fun hanging around the races.

I mentioned to Noe that Kid Rock is throwing his name in the hat to run for Senate in Michigan. Noe said he hasn’t heard directly from Rock about his senate announcement, but said that the musician is a “straight shooter” and will help rebuild Detroit. “I think the folks of Michigan, if they pick him, he’ll do a great job. He’s a straight shooter, he’s done a lot to help Detroit rebound. And who knows? Maybe he’ll help bring things together in Michigan, and represent them well in the Senate.”

But back to the bourbon. Noe thinks that the public will respond well to the new vanilla flavor of Jim Beam. “I think they’ll love it once they taste it. Once people put it in their mouths, it does the trick.”

After the interview, I walked out to greet my brother Danny sitting at the bar. I brought him along as my plus-one guest, and he was already having fun with a Jim Beam and coke in his hand. I looked around and took some nice pictures of acrobats and the encompassing atmosphere of crowds enjoying bourbon, talking and listening to live music.

The host of the event Mila Kunis came out towards the end, while this “responsible” journalist was visiting the bathroom. I rushed out of the restroom and looked for my brother, who had the camera-phone. I eventually found him and was glad that he captured a few photos of “the goddess” in person. Kunis didn’t converse with anyone in the crowd. She stood onstage and talked about Jim Beam. Well, she is the host of their launch party after all…

I definitely had an awesome time at the Jim Beam Vanilla Launch Party. An endless string of free cocktails and drinks. The most baller event in NYC this year. Plus, how could I not feel it the next day? This guy is getting old…

Any regrets? None! Well, maybe a few more shots of Mila would help…

Atari

After much speculation and buzz around what exactly Atari new console would play, the legendary game company has finally removed the veil on its latest venture into the home console market, the Ataribox. Revealing internal details, pictures and even the console’s price, Atari is making sure that fans are ready and ravenous for this new console. Offering a way of playing games that no other home console is currently providing, the Ataribox looks to be an actual competitor in this already cramped market.

First revealed to the public back in June, before this year’s E3, Atari had been dropping more teasers during the course of the summer. In July, the company had even released a “First Look” clip surrounding the design of the console. Today, the company released a newsletter revealing what everyone wanted to know, what kind of games will be on the system. Running on Linux software and sporting a custom-built AMD processor, the Ataribox will be a full PC gaming experience for the living room! The console will not be attached to a dedicated store or launcher and will allow users to customize, use and play whatever they want.

Allowing users to have a full PC experience on their TVs is a dream that has been wanted by many, and with the disappointing launch of “Steam Machines” the Ataribox has a lot to prove when it launches.

We want you to be part of the story.”

Sara D’Spain, a 38-year-old former Texas high school teacher, is being accused of having an improper relationship with a student, D’Spain allegedly allowed the unidentified student to feel her breasts while they kissed behind a local burger restaurant.

D’Spain, 38, was taken into custody by the Kerrville Police Department around 1:40 PM on Thursday, September 21. D’Spain was charged with one count of improper relationship between educator and student.

According to her arrest affidavit, D’Spain told authorities that she communicated with the student through Snapchat, often sending him explicit photographs.

Kerrville police said D’Spain’s arrest is part of an ongoing investigation into two instances of educators at the district having relationships with students. The second investigation continues. Last week, district officials announced D’Spain and the other teacher were placed on indefinite administrative leave after the accusations were revealed.

According to online State Board for Educator Certification records, D’Spain is certified to teach pre-kindergarten through 8th-grade students, and she is a certified English as a Second Language teacher as well.

Sexual relationships between educators and students are far from uncommon in Texas. In the 2016-2017 year alone, the Texas Education Agency has opened more than 300 such investigations.

D’Spain was booked into the Kerr County Jail on $35,000 bond and has since been released.

South Park continues its 21st season tonight with “Holiday Special.” It will be the third of 10 episodes in the 21st season, and it is the 280th overall episode.

Between the general disappoint of last season and all that has happened in the world since the show wrapped up season 20, South Park heads into its 21st year with more pressure than usual. Given the shaky first few months of the Donald Trump presidency, one would expect Trey Parker and Matt Stone to dive into it head first. That couldn’t be farther from the truth, as the South Park creators want absolutely nothing to do with Donald Trump this season

“Yeah, and it’s also just gotten boring. We weren’t ever really that show. We would do an entire season and there would be one moment that played off something that had just happened and people would go, South Park is the show that does that. And that’s just not true. We’re not.

We did start to become that, though, especially the last season. We fell into the same trap that “Saturday Night Live” fell into, where it was like, “Dude, we’re just becoming CNN now. We’re becoming: ‘Tune in to see what we’re going to say about Trump.’ Matt and I hated it but we got stuck in it somehow,” Trey Parker said back in July.

Now, while they may not be satirizing the President this season, it certainly looks like they will be gunning after his supporters, as the premiere episode seems to be tackling the Confederacy and white supremacy head on.

South Park was also renewed through to season 23 in 2019 Comedy Central put out a statement to celebrate the announcement of the show’s renewal:

“South Park remains the bedrock of Comedy Central and we are thrilled that new episodes will continue to entertain audiences for years to come,” said Michele Ganeless, president of Comedy Central, in a press release. “The series remains as urgent and relevant now as the day it premiered and at nearly 20 seasons in it continues to draw generations of new fans.”

After using a serialized format for the last couple of seasons, South Park creators Trey Parker and Matt Stone have hinted that they will be going back to the show’s old format of standalone episodes, and will focus less on satire, and more on “Cartman dressing up like a robot and screwing with Butters.”

Another month has come and gone and while new games come out weekly, the amazing people at Microsoft have revealed what free games they will blessing Xbox Live Gold members in October. Following the awesome lineup in September, this month’s lineup offers a much more relaxing but mentally taxing games!
