A Texas man’s wedding got cancelled, so he allegedly went buck wild and set eight cars on fire. Don’t mess with Texas or you might get your car burnt to the ground. Jimmy Williams, 35, is the prime suspect linked to the torching of eight cars on the morning of July 9th, only one day after his wedding was suppose to happen. Instead of a wedding, more than a handful of cars in Plattsburgh, upstate New York, went up in smoke.

After the incident, Williams left Plattsburgh and returned to his hometown of Kingwood Texas, where he was apprehended by authorities. He has since been extradited back to New York for trial, NBC 5 reported.

In March 2015, Williams announced his engagement to a woman named Kimberly Fulton on his Facebook account. But before they could get hitched on July 8th, marriage plans fell through. Williams allegedly responded with an alcohol-induced arson mission, setting eight vehicles ablaze along a mile of road.

Prior to the crime, Williams was partying at Mayor’s Cup regatta, a long-standing boat race in the city. He “was downtown partaking in all the Mayor’s Cup events,’ before the fires reports Lt. Scott Beebie of the Plattsburgh PD said. “We do believe alcohol was a factor.”

At around 3 A.M., that night (July 9th), a fire was reported, according to the North Country Public Radio. The second fire report happened an hour later, while the third blaze was reported at 7:40 A.M.

Between Miller Street and Seth Square, eight cars were set ablaze. Two cars were reportedly burnt beyond repair, while the others vehicles suffered lesser damages.

Lt. Scott Beebie said, ‘He did live in Seth Square, so on [his] way home [he] allegedly took his anger out on the cars just before he reached his residence.”

Police searched through 35 hours of security footage before they narrowed down Jimmy Williams as their suspect.

Where did the fires happen?

The fires occurred sporadically over a one mile radius from Miller Street to Seth Square.

The state of California has way too much weed, and apparently it’s a problem. Cannabis growers in the Golden State have produced far more product than the California market can handle. Consumers aren’t keeping up with the pot smoke, while the production rates are exploding.

“We are producing too much,” said Hezekiah Allen, executive director of the California Growers’ Association. He also mentioned that state-licensed growers “are going to have to scale back. We are on a painful downsizing curve.”

What can the people of California do to fix this dilemma? Smoke more weed? Is that even possible, dude?

Pot farmers may turn to the black market as a means to ship out their green as a result of this “painful downsizing curve” of cannabis production. But that would be illegal by federal standards. So, no bueno.

Hmmmm, maybe California can lend its herb to the weed-starved civilians of Nevada. They’re literally right next to each other. One state has too much weed, while the other is running out of ganja by the second. But brain-dead bureaucratic regulations stop the free flow of cannabis between Nevada and California, as state legislation prevents California growers from exporting their product.

Sony’s exclusive title, Gran Turismo Sport, faces up against Microsoft’s picturesque rival racing game, Forza Motorsport 7, both of which come out in October of this year. Gran Turismo Sport promises to bring the same level of detail promised in all releases of the game, with every version progressively growing more sophisticated in its visual styles.

We’ve seen numerous trailers, screenshots and gameplay released so far, so here’s some of the key info we’ve gathered together.

News:

This game’s release date was originally set to release in November of last year around the launch of the PlayStation VR, but because of some technical delays to “perfect GT Sport,” according to an interview with Polophony Digital president Kazunori Yamauchi, the game’s release was pushed back.

We can see on the game page a bunch of new features. This includes over 150 vehicles to try out, 28 different layouts across 17 track locations (a new Tokyo Speedway track!) to test driving skills, mentions of 4K resolution support and high dynamic range. Let’s not forget too that PlayStation VR will also be supported.

We aren’t too clear on any other details, but Yamauchi said he’d disclose more as time progresses. We imagine this will happen when news outlets interview him on-air and pick his brain.

Release Information:

Gran Turismo Sport is expected to release on October 17 for the PlayStation 4. The release date was initially in November of last year until Polyphony Digital president Kaunori Yamauchi announced a delay to give “more time to perfect GT Sport.”

A closed beta started in March selectively chose certain U.S. PSN users to test-drive several cars on a few different tracks in some interesting new race categories.

The level above the standard tier is the Gran Turismo Sport Limited Edition, going for$69.99. This includes the GT Sport Starter Pack (8 Cars), $1MM in-game credit, Livery sticker pack, 30 GT Sport themed avatars, chrome racing helmet (for driver profile) and a limited steel book and packaging.

For those who wanna go bigger, you can get the Gran Turismo Sport Digital Deluxe Edition for $79.99. This includes the GT Sport starter pack (12 Cars), $2MM in-game credit, Livery sticker pack, 60 GT sport-themed avatars and a chrome racing helmet (for driver profile).

The end result of the study didn’t favor the guys. In fact, the study revealed that men eating more than 67g a day (the most in the study) had a 23% higher rate of depression than the guys who consumed less than 39.5 grams of sugar. Meanwhile, according to The Guardian, “The study found no link between sugar intake and new mood disorders in women and it is unclear why. More research is needed to test the sugar-depression effect in large population samples.”

But this study does have its flaws, as according to the study…

“People’s sugar intake and their mental health were measured through questionnaires. One of the problems with dietary studies is that people tend not to tell the whole truth about what they eat. But, she said, “it is quite unlikely that people over-report what they eat.” So if anything, they would be seeing less of an effect that there really is.”

Both the researchers and the participants of this study were highly dedicated to finding out the results. After thirty years of testing, this study reveals that males are more likely to become depressed via intake than the female participants.

But on the bright side, donuts only have about 10 or 11 grams of sugar. So, one donut wouldn’t hurt, right?

With Game Of Thrones winding down into it’s final eleven episodes, fans are clamoring for every inch of details they can get about the final season, and potentially beyond.

Casey Bloys, HBO’s Programming President, said that the eigth and final season, while already written, will not premiere until showrunners David Benioff and D.B. Weiss feel as they are ‘out of the woods in the production process.’

Another interesting tidbit from The Hollywood Reporter  interview is when Bloys discussed how long the runtime for the eighth and final season’s episodes will be.

Bloys reiterated that the final season would air on HBO — not in Imax theaters before subscribers see it — and that the running time for each of the six episodes is something he has spoken about with the producers. “I imagine they’ll be longer but … I’m not sure [how long],” he said.

“We haven’t had that discussion yet because I don’t know how long the episodes are going to be. Two hours per episode seems like it would be excessive, but it’s a great show, so who knows?”

If HBO is smart, they’ll milk every minute of Thrones that they can.

Bundled with this was another addition of problems: Call of Duty: Modern Warfare Remastered. Until its standalone release tomorrow, the new perspective of an old game was a driving and sole motivation for many to buy the game, showing just how little Activision cares about its fan base’s needs.

This one surprised me because I knew just how mediocre the reviews for this game was. I’d only get this if I were a hardcore Tom Clancy series fan, but I’m not. Gameplay footage is suitable enough for me. The expansive world and absolute autonomy of the game resembles Metal Gear Solid: Phantom Pain too much for me to hop on board with this too much, though. I can’t see very many unique advantages this game has over that title since the game’s hallmark features are also evident in that game, too.

Man, I’m not going to lie, I teared up while watching this.

Not because I agree or disagree with his decision, or because I’m a Republican or a Democrat, but because I am an American. For so long, all we’ve seen in the newspapers and on television is that America is in chaos — the media is lying and the government corrupt and Russia has us by the balls and terrorists are knocking on our doors.

But what you see before you is a sign that reports of democracy’s demise have been greatly overexaggerated. What you see is an 80-year-old man who was just diagnosed with brain cancer fly 2000 miles across to country to vote against his own party for the sake of principle.

What you see is John McCain, one of the most well-respected Americans in the history of this great country, urging his fellow countrymen that they must ‘now return to the correct way of legislating.

McCain has defied his party before. The former prisoner of war stood with Democrats to release a report on the use of enhanced interrogation techniques during the Bush years. He reached across the aisle to fix the country’s health care system for veterans with independent Sen. Bernie Sanders, and was known to unload on his own party when he felt they needed a reality check.

But Friday’s vote may be one of his most memorable moments. In the end, the senator voted against a bill that would have repealed the Affordable Care Act’s individual and employer mandates, despised by Republicans, and against his party’s seven-year campaign promise to dismantle President Barack Obama’s signature legislative achievement. Instead, McCain took a vote that very well may re-chart the course of Trump’s own legislative agenda.

One person is dead and several others have been injured in knife attack at a supermarket in Hamburg, Germany.

Hamburg police have arrested a suspect after a reported knife attack in which one person was killed. Police are reportedly looking for a second suspect. There is no word on whether or not this incident is related to terrorism.

The unidentified attacker ran into an Edeka shop before stabbing multiple customers. Heavily armed police locked the area down while an ambulance helicopter also arrived on scene.

“We have no clear information as to the motive or the number of wounded,” the Hamburg police tweeted.

According to BILD, the attack took place between Fuhlsbüttler and Hermann Kauffmann in the district of Barmbek, Hamburg just after 3 PM local time. A witness also told Bild that ‘the man has suddenly struck out on customers, there was one dead and several injured.’

Police have urged civilians to avoid the area where the attack took place. There is still no word on the motive of the attack.

Arcade Fire, the famous Canadian indie rock band, releases a new album, Everything Now, for the world to listen today! The band is known for incorporating various types of timbres such as the xylophone, glockenspiel, harp, mandolin, and hurdy-gurdy, to name a few. The unique blend of instrumentation in conjunction with the style of music they create introduce a contagious and vibrant vibe. Arcade Fire performs indie and art rock.

Just to give you a brief profile of the Grammy award winning collective, the band initiated their careers in 2001. The band came to prominence in 2004 with the release of their critically acclaimed debut album Funeral. Their second studio album, Neon Bible, won them the 2008 Meteor Music Award for Best International Album and the 2008 Juno Award for Alternative Album of the Year. It received many accolades, including the 2011 Grammy for Album of the Year, the 2011 Juno Award for Album of the Year, and the 2011 Brit Award for Best International Album. Fast forward to July 19, 2016, the band announced their fifth studio album titled Everything Now. 

Now let’s go to the interesting portion of the discussion. The cover art is intriguing and nature-like. The setting seems to take place at a barren dessert, similar to the likes of the terrains in Arizona. The sky elicits a space-like aura and hue. There is a rusty barricade, resembling a barn-type-of-fencing. There is a centerpiece with neon lights titled “Everything Now.”

When listening to the album, I feel like the music can be used as a potential soundtrack for the Netflix original series, Stranger Things. Since this album centers around alternative dance, synth pop, and electronica, the type of music reminds me back to sci-fi films and the disco era in American culture. The inclusion of obsolete instruments such as the harp and mandolin actually strike a positive and distinctive voice. For example, in its number one song on the tracklist, “Everything Now,” the keyboard with the upbeat downbeats create a dreamy feel. This type of song can be a great companion for one who is on a long road trip along a remarkable valley or picturesque area. As for “Creature Comfort,” the outro instrumentals resemble the sounds of some techno and science-fiction context. Overall, I enjoyed the selections on this album. Tell me what you think!

Passion Pit is an American indietronica band from Cambridge, Massachusetts. They formed in 2007 and are currently consisting a collective of five members: Michael Angelakos (lead vocals/keyboards), joined live by Chris Hartz (drums), Aaron Harrison Folb (bass/synthesizers), Giuliano Pizzulo (guitar/synthesizers), and Ray Suen (guitar/synthesizers).

The story behind their band’s name actually comes from the Variety Slanguage Dictionary, a glossary of Variety’s frequently used slang. The magazine used the term to refer to drive-in-theatres, because of their privacy and romantic allure for teenagers.

The cover art of “Tremendous Sea of Love” is reminiscing and serene. There is a child laying on the sand bed as the tides come toward its body. The white font of the album title is neatly written above the child. The color of the background is a vague and navy like blue. It seems like the artists are creating a faded, distant memory with the blue hue as an effect.

Angelakos initially made the album available for free to fans who tweeted support of his #weneedscience campaign in March. Now he is making it an official release, with all proceeds going to psychiatric scientific research at the Broad Institute’s Stanley Center in Cambridge, Massachusetts.

When listening to the album, certain selections caught my attention. Since the instrumentals are varied and unique, the background seems to resonate a fusion of organic and electronic music. I enjoy the message Angelakos is trying to convey to the world. He is promoting mental health studies and the importance of science through the artistry embedded in his music.

“Tremendous Sea of Love” often finds Angelakos at his most immediate, unguarded pop melodies like “Hey K,” where he declares, “Love is the answer” over a soaring bed of synthesizers, and the upbeat thrill ride “I’m Perfect.”The sweet ballad “To the Otherside” and the singer-songwriter throwback soul of “You Have the Right” could easily find a home on pop radio, the way “Take a Walk” or “The Reeling” did, if that was what Angelakos wanted at this point. However, instead of advancing his own interests, Angelakos is focusing on furthering the interests of all artists, which he hopes will help create the “Tremendous Sea of Love” that he seeks.

The album releases today, July, 28th, 2017.

2008-2014

By the end of June 2008, Gardner was called up by the Yankees to play in the outfield. While Gardner spent most of rookie season transitioning between the major and minor leagues, his adeptness as a base stealer (13 stolen bases in 42 games) and defender (1.3 defensive WAR) would ultimately garner him more playing time the following season.

After beating out Melky Cabrera in Spring Training to be the Yankees starting centerfielder for the 2009 season, Gardner proved to be an essential defensive piece in the outfield. Although Gardner never put up eye-popping scoring numbers, his solid batting average (.270) coupled with his ability to get on base (.345 OBP) made him a worthy member of a well-rounded Yankees squad. During the Yankees World Series run, Gardner appeared in all but one of the Yankees post season games.

2010 was a breakout year for Gardner in terms of flashing his strategic speed on the base pads while consistently getting on base. In 150 games, Gardner stole 47 bases while posting an impressive on base percentage of .383 (both career highs). Gardner would also go on to win the Fielding Bible Award, an honor that is bestowed upon the best defensive outfielder in the majors.

Given how effective Gardner was at getting on base the previous year, the Yankees saw it fit to allow the patient hitter to hit leadoff for the team in 2011. While his batting average and on base percentage suffered a bit because of the batting order promotion (.259 and .345 respectively), Gardner was still able to make the most of his opportunities on the base pads as he tied Coco Crisp in the AL in stolen bases with 49. Once again, Gardner won another Fielding Bible Award, proving his defensive capabilities were amongst the best in the majors.

Before the start of the 2012 season, Gardner and the Yankees agreed to $2.8 million contract for the season, avoiding arbitration. Due to an elbow injury he sustained early in the season, Gardner played in only 16 games for the Yankees.

Coming off an injury plagued season in 2012, Gardner came back to the Yankees in 2013 determined to prove his worth to the organization for the long haul. While Gardner’s return to his dominant defensive form was impressive, he also was a reliable contributor at the plate as well (.273 BA and 52 RBI’s, the latter a career high).

As result of his resurgent performance the previous season, the Yankees decided to award Gardner for his accomplishments as they signed him to a four-year, $52 million contract extension. While Gardner continued to be the Yankees best defensive player, he was forced to alter his approach at the plate due to an aggravating elbow injury. Rather than hit to simply get on base, Gardner became an aggressive power hitter and was able to hit 17 home runs to go along with 58 RBI’s, both career highs.

He reportedly earned $5.6 million in 2014.

2015-Present

For Gardner, the 2015 season started out as one of his best, which quickly turned into one of his worst. During the first half of the season, Garner had an elite batting average of .302, which was more than enough for him to earn a place on the 2015 All-Star team, his first All-Star selection. However, the second half for Gardner proved to be immensely frustrating as he hit a lowly .206 at the plate and went 0-4 in the Yankees Wild Card loss. Still, Gardner’s newly established power presence at the plate allowed him to knock in 66 RBI’s while slugging 16 home runs on the season.

While Gardner was till somewhat inconsistent at the plate during the 2016 season, he made a concerted effort to get on base while continuing to play superb defense in the outfield. He raised his on base percentage to .351 (highest in a season since 2010) and his 70 walks were his most since 2010 as well. Gardner’s defensive contributions were particularly noteworthy as he won his first Gold Glove Award for his proficient abilities as a defender in the outfield.

The 2017 season for Gardner has been one to remember for the veteran outfielder thus far. In 95 games, Gardner has already hit 18 home runs (career high) to go along with 46 RBI’s. Although Gardner’s agility on the base pads is not what it once was, the fact that he can still find ways to get on base (.353 OBP) is a testament to Gardner’s strong work ethic and patience at the plate.

Although Gardner may not have the offensive flash or legendary abilities of some Hall-Of-Fame Yankees, his mature attitude and unique capabilities on defense should still be respected and appreciated. While the likes of Gary Sanchez and Aaron Judge have taken the majority of the limelight due to their prolific abilities as aggressive hitters, Gardner’s balanced approach to the game has still been vital in helping the Yankees stay competitive.

He reportedly earned $12 million in 2017.

There is no doubt that UFC is the fastest growing sport in the world. The Road and Astro Boy are two selections that definitely stood out to me because I specifically saw the films. She definitely portrayed the characters in an engaging manner, showing her true capabilities to entertain the world with her acting knack. The following few years, Theron appeared in the action adventure film Snow White and the Huntsman (2011) and Ridley Scott’s science fiction film Prometheus (2012). Later on, in 2015, she played rebel soldier Imperator Furiosa in George Miller’s Mad Max: Fury Road.

2016-Present

In 2016, she presents her colorful character as Queen Ravenna in The Huntsman: Winter’s War. If that’s not exciting enough, the Fast and Furious franchise came back, and she took the role as Cipher. On July 20, Chester Bennington, the lead singer of Linkin Park, committed suicide by hanging at the age of 41-years-old. He is survived by his wife and six children.

Bennington had struggled with drugs and alcohol issues for years, saying in the past he had considered committing suicide because due to childhood abuse. Bennington, who was best friends with the late Chris Cornell and performed “Hallelujah” at his funeral, committed suicide on July 20, Cornell’s birthday.

Now, a little over a week after Chester’s death, Bennington’s widow Talinda Bennington has opened up about her grief for the first time.

One week ago, I lost my soulmate and my children lost their hero-their Daddy. We had a fairytale life and now it has turned into some sick Shakespearean tragedy. How do I move on? How do I pick up my shattered soul? The only answer I know is to raise our babies with every ounce of love I have left. I want to let my community and the fans worldwide know that we feel your love. We feel your loss as well.

My babies are so young to have lost their daddy. And I know that all of you will help keep his memory alive. He was a bright, loving soul with an angel’s voice. And now he is pain free singing his songs in all of our hearts. May God Bless us all and help us turn to one another when we are in pain. Chester would’ve wanted us to do so. Rest In Peace, my love.

Jones defeated his archrival and former teammate Rashad Evans via unanimous decision (49-46, 49-46, 50-45) on April 21, 2012, at UFC 145. Later, Jones defended the championship against Vitor Belfort on September 22, 2012, at UFC 152.Jones opened as a massive favorite (13-to-1) coming into the bout. He ended up winning $65,000. Jones faced Alexander Gustafsson on September 21, 2013, at UFC 165. Jones was badly cut above the eye during the first round, but he continued and eventually won the back-and-forth fight via a controversial unanimous decision (48-47, 48-47, 49-46). In 2014, the bout win against the rematch with Gustafsson earned Jones his fourth Fight of the Night bonus award. Lastly, in 2015, Jones was expected to defend his title against Anthony Johnson on May 23, 2015, at UFC 187. However, on April 28, he was stripped of the belt and suspended from the UFC indefinitely in connection with a hit-and-run incident that he was involved in.

2016-Present

The rematch with Cormier had been rescheduled and was expected to take place on July 9, 2016, at UFC 200. However, on July 6, 2016, Jones was removed from the bout after a potential out of competition anti-doping policy violation from Jones, made by USADA on June 16.The rematch with Cormier has been scheduled again and is expected to take place on July 29, 2017 at UFC 214.

Cormier was briefly linked to a bout with Rafael Cavalcante on July 5, 2014, at UFC 175. However, it was announced that Cormier would instead be fighting Dan Henderson on May 24, 2014, at UFC 173. After dominating the fight with his wrestling and top game, he won via technical submission in the third round. Cormier faced Alexander Gustafsson on October 3, 2015, at UFC 192. Cormier won the back and forth fight via split decision (47-48, 48-47, 49-46). Their performance earned both participants Fight of the Night honors.

2016-Present

Cormier fought former UFC Middleweight Champion Anderson Silva in a 3 round non- title fight in 2016.
