Well, folks, it’s here — Game Of Thrones week.

We are officially less than one week away from the premiere of Thrones’ seventh season, and because of that, the hype is at an all-time high. So, with that in mind, I decided to go with some Christmas-In-July vibes by creating what I call the ‘7 Days Of Thrones’.

Every day, from now until Sunday, COED will take a look at some of the biggest questions heading into Thrones’ seventh season, and how we expect those questions to be answered.

For our second article in the ‘7 Days Of Thrones’, I wanted to take a look at how Jaime Lannister, one of the show’s most complex characters, will fair in season seven. With Cersei, his twin sister and lover, sitting on the Iron Throne, how will this affect Jaime’s duty as the Commander of the Kingsguard? With Cersei growing increasingly evil, how will this affect the relationship between the two? With enemy soliders and dragons descending on King’s Landing, does Jaime even have a chance of surviving?

Potential spoilers below.

What Will Happen To Jaime Lannister In Season 7?

In a show renowned for its vast array of confounding characters, Jaime Lannister, The Kingslayer, may be the show’s most complex. From the second we meet Jaime, all the way back to the pilot, he’s positioned as a villain. After all, it’s his dastardly action–pushing Bran Stark from the tower and paralyzing him–that sets the show in motion.

At first, Jaime is everything a fantasy villain should be: rich, handsome, cocky, vaguely Aryan looking, and, oh yeah, he f*cks his sister. Couple all that with him tossing a small child from a multi-story tower and you have one seriously reprehensible lord.

But that was back in season one when Ned Stark was still alive, the dragons had yet to hatch, and Jaime had two hands.  A lot has changed since then, Jaime especially. Now, here we are, seven seasons in, and Jaime is one of the most likable characters remaining on the show. And that’s exactly why he’s destined to die — because of how drastic his character arc has been. The once villainous, vile, incestuous pretty boy is now the rather heroic, morally correct … incestuous pretty boy (no one is saying he’s perfect.) His growth on this long and winding path of redemption makes him a prime time candidate to end up as one of the show’s most tragic figures when it’s all said and done.

The last time we saw Jaime, he finally had returned home to King’s Landing after the Lannister’s attack on Riverrun, only to learn that his son Tommen was dead as shit and Cersei’s crazy ass was now Queen. Now, I’m no body language expert, but I did major in communication in college (shout out Rutgers) and Jaime’s nonverbal cues are screaming confusion, resentment, and anger:

So now what for ole’ Golden Fist? Let’s check the tape:

We get a couple of shots of Jaime, all of which indicate he’s going to be a key player in the defense of King’s Landing, which, when you consider dragons are likely en-route, is objectively not good:

And as the trailer clearly shows, the Lannister’s don’t fair to well in this battle, ya know, based on all the fire and dead bodies and stuff:

Which leads us to the main question of this article: does Jaime survive the battle against Daenerys’ army, and if so, what does he do next? While I have been convinced for quite a while that Jaime is marching towards a tragic end, I don’t think that fate finds him in this particular battle. The reason? A death on the battlefield would be far too straightforward for a character as complex as Jaime Lannister.

Given the emotional rollercoaster this character has been through — from detestable villain to redeemable hero — getting chopped down by a Dothraki or burnt to a crisp by a dragon wouldn’t carry the same emotional weight, as, say, him being betrayed by one of his siblings or sacrificing himself for the greater good. But the question remains: if all of Jaime’s allies were burnt alive in battle, then how did he somehow survive? Simple.

That dragon is being flown by his brother, Tyrion.

I believe that what you see above you is an image of a defeated Jaime Lannister attacking a Tyrion flown dragon, thus explaining how he makes it out of this battle alive. From this point, Tyrion and Jaime will negotiate a deal that involves Jaime killing Cersei.

At this point, Jaime knows Cersei has become far too evil for him to control, and as Commander of the Kingsguard, has the ability to get closer to her than anyone, especially with Zombie Mountain lurking around. Combine that with the fact that Jaime has previously slain a King for threatening to blow up the city — something Cersei has already done — and you have the makings of the Kingslayer becoming the Queenslayer.

Whether or not Jaime bites the dust this season or the next is irrelvant — it is going to happen — what matters is what he accomplishes before that day comes, and that’s going to be brining an end to Cersei’s reign.

Kit Harington, an English actor, is best known as Jon Snow in HBO’s Game of Thrones.

Harington studied acting at drama school, while starring in the National Theatre‘s adaptation of War Horse. His film debut came in Silent Hill: Revelation (2012). Peter Dinklage Net Worth as of 2017: $10 Million

Dinklage started off his acting career slowly with small roles in small budget films after receiving his acting degree from Bennington College.  He also made a few television appearances, but never really stuck or received any larger roles. President Donald Trump’s oldest son, Donald Trump Jr., released an email chain Tuesday that shows his discussions regarding plans to hear damaging information about Hillary Clinton that were described as “part of Russia and it’s government’s support for Mr. Trump.”

The emails are the first documentary evidence that a high-ranking Trump associate took a meeting to unearth crucial information about Hillary Clinton with the understanding that it was tied to an effort from the Russian government to help Trump win the 2016 election. Trump Jr. was actively involved in his father’s presidential campaign.

In his Tweets on Tuesday, Trump’s oldest son said he was released the emails “in order to be totally transparent.” The emails with music publicist Rob Goldstone show that Trump Jr. was told that the Russian government held evidence that would “incriminate” Clinton.

Goldstone wrote that this information “would be very useful to your father.” He was attempting to set up a meeting between Trump Jr. and a Russian attorney that later occurred at Trump Tower.

“If it’s what you say I love it especially later in the summer,” Trump Jr. replied in one email. The messages are dated early June.

Trump Jr. has admitted that he met with Russian lawyer Natalia Veselnitskaya shortly after the email exchange during the presidential campaign. He reportedly believed he would be provided with damaging information on Clinton.

Veselnitskaya has denied any connection with the Kremlin in an interview with NBC News, and that she met with Trump Jr. to hand over sensitive information about Clinton. Instead, she maintains that their meeting was to discuss sanctions imposed on Russian officials.

“It is quite possible that maybe they were longing for such information. They wanted it so badly that they could only hear the thought that they wanted,” she said.

The disclosure of the meeting, which was also attended by Trump’s son-in-law and political adviser Jared Kushner and then-campaign chairman Paul Manafort, has sparked new concerns about the Trump campaign’s potential connections to Moscow, which are being investigated by federal and congressional authorities.

One email suggests the information would pass from Russian hands to the Trump campaign through a billionaire with ties to the Kremlin: “The Crown prosecutor of Russia met with his father Aras (Agalarov) this morning and in their meeting offered to provide the Trump campaign with some official documents and information that would incriminate Hillary and her dealings with Russia and would be very useful to your father. This is obviously very high level and sensitive information but is part of Russia and its government’s support for Mr. Trump – helped by Aras and Emin” Agalarov, Aras’ son.

A Song of Ice and Fire already had a cult following, but Game of Thrones broadened that fanbase from book staunches to old woman in their late 80’s who relate to Khal Drago’s and Daenerys’ relationship, shame they won’t live long enough to see the conclusion of the show. But Clarke was a standout from the first season of the show due to her quick ascension as the leader of the Dothraki and even earned some Emmy Award nominations, which is the best participation award in acting you can get next to your own Marvel superhero franchise.

The character of Daenerys however can often be one dimensional, but Clarke looked to challenge herself by taking on Broadway’s rendition of Breakfast at Tiffany’s where she played Holly Golighty.

Clarke’s franchise of choice was instead to star opposite 60-year old Schwarzenegger in Terminator Genisys, which had a successful box office showing. Clarke found better success in a smaller project Me Before You, sweeping in on the tragic romantic movie craze in the same vein as Fault in Our Stars.

HBO wants to make sure Emilia Clarke isn’t going anywhere until this story is wrapped up and they put their money where their mouth is with her pulling in $2 million per episode, which is crazy considering she shares the screen with hundreds of other characters. Clarke will also become an element in Star Wars when she stars alongside Han Solo in the Solo Han Solo movie that has been plagued by a troubled development. No matter success Clarke has in film, she’ll have at least one more season of Game of Thrones to fall back on. $2 million really breaks the fall.

Ekatherine Pappas, a 25-year-old former Spanish high school teacher at Franklin High School in Baltimore, has been sentenced to prison after she admitted to having sex with her 16-year-old male student and videotaping at least one of the encounters.

What Happened?

In June, Pappas pleaded guilty to three misdemeanor counts of sexual offense against a student. As part of a plea deal, prosecutors agreed to drop additional felony counts of sexual abuse of a minor. On Monday, she was sentenced to three years in prison, but a judge suspended all but one year and one day of her term.

Following her release, Pappas will spend five years on specialized and enhanced supervised probation and will be required to register as a sex offender for 15 years, according to a report by the Baltimore Sun.

Charges against Pappas were announced back in January when authorities issued a warrant for her arrest and said she had fled the U.S. to Colombia.

In January, a video surfaced at the school featuring Pappas having sex with the 16-year-old student. A school resource officer saw a copy of the X-rated video on a student’s phone and notified administrators, WBAL reported.

On the same day school officials were notified of the video, Pappas boarded a flight from Dulles International Airport to Bogota, Columbia.

She returned to the U.S. a few weeks later and was arrested at the airport.

According to court documents, the victim told detectives that Pappas asked him to cut class on December 21 and 22, and drove him to his house to have sex with her. One of their sexual encounters was recorded on video.

Pappas, a Loyola University graduate, had been teaching at Franklin High for just one month when she became involved with the student, according to prosecutors. The boy’s father wrote a victim impact statement submitted to the court that said he and his entire family have been devastated.

“I cannot begin to explain the terror of being notified that my son had been sexually abused and it was on videotape that had been circulated throughout the school for others to see,” the parent stated.

To quote 2012’s Prometheus, “A king has his reign and then he dies.” While South Korean pop performer Psy is far from dead, his reign as YouTube king has ended.

For five years, 2012’s “Gangnam Style” has been the most-watched YouTube video of all-time. However, “Gangnam Style” has just been unseated atop the YouTube throne Game of Thrones style by Wiz Khalifa and Charlie Puth’s “See You Again.” A moment of silence for our fallen brethren.

“Gangnam Style” had previously outperformed YouTube’s view counter and actually exceeded the maximum possible number of views, forcing the tech giant to rewrite its code. As of this writing, “Gangnam Style” has been streamed 2,894,853,514 times; and “See You Again” had been viewed 2,896,680,107 times.

“See You Again” was written for Furious 7 and played during the closing credits in tribute to Paul Walker. The song also holds the unofficial record for eliciting the most Man Tears in history, beating out the previous record holder, Rudy.

In 2015, “See You Again” was the best-selling song worldwide and scored Best Song nominations at the Grammys and the Oscars. Not too shabby.

Sadly, “See You Again” may not stay on top for long. Luis Fonsi and Daddy Yankee’s “Despacito” is hot on its heels with a total of 2.483 billion views since its January 12, 2017 upload date. It is currently the fifth-most viewed video on YouTube.

Following Donald Trump’s election to the White House, it’s clear that political races and voters have opened up to non-traditional candidates who come from non-political backgrounds. This includes entertainers with charisma like Trump and even Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson.

Some have been calling for the former WWE wrestler turned global movie star to run for public office, including the office of the President of the United States. These supporters point to his magnetic personality and endearing character as reasons why they want him in the Oval Office. Personally, I think it takes a bit more than likability to be president, but there’s no doubt that Johnson is seen as The Man by countless Americans. He’s arguably the biggest celebrity in the world.

He’s also one step closer to actually running for president.

On Sunday, July 9, a West Virginia man by the name of Kenton Tilford filed with the Federal Election Commission to create a committee called “Run the Rock 2020.” Of course, Tilford could have done this on his own accord without any contact with Johnson whatsoever. But it does mean he can run if he so chooses.

And it looks like the creator of the People’s Elbow really does have the People’s support.

So, I guess the only question to really ask is: America, can you SMELLLLLLLLLL what The Rock is cooking?

Richard Newton, an ax-wielding Insane Clown Posse fan, has been detained after three-hour stand off with cops after he showed up outside a Massachusetts radio station and demanded they played his favorite song.

Newton, 38, arrived at the Kiss 108 radio studios in Medford, Massachusetts, at around 1:30 PM on Monday, July 10.

The 38-year-old then walked to the iHeart radio section on the second floor where he approached a secretary. At this point, he flashed a large metal ax, demanding that the station play ‘My Axe’ by Insane Clown Posse.

Insane Clown Posse is a white hip-hop duo known for their clown makeup and their violent lyrics.

The man – who police have identified as 38-year-old Richard Newton – was quickly handcuffed by officers around 4:30 p.m. after emerging with his hands up from a car that had been surrounded by police vehicles. He was taken away on a stretcher.

A witness told NBC Boston the man came to the area before 1:30 p.m. and asked where the iHeart radio section of the building was. He went into the building and approached a secretary. He requested that they play the song “My Axe” by Insane Clown Posse and displayed a large ax.

The man then returned to his vehicle, by which time police had arrived. He rammed a police vehicle, and then threw the axe out of the window, but it did not hit anyone. The witness said the man had several knives inside the car and was also seen drinking beer in the car.

At one point while police were negotiating with Newton, he got out of the vehicle and said “I guess you’re just going to have to kill me.”

Lyrics to the song Newton requested, My Ax, say: ‘My axe is my buddy, and when I wind him back/Me and my axe will give your forehead a buttcrack.’

Recently, Clint Eastwood has been focused on bringing real life heroes to the big screen with movies such as Sully and American Sniper. But in each instance, Eastwood has understandably turned to Hollywood A-listers such as Tom Hanks and Bradley Cooper, respectively, to take on the hero roles. However, he’s going a different route for his next film, The 15:17 to Paris.

This time around, Eastwood is casting the real life heroes on which the film is based.

Anthony Sadler, Alek Skarlatos and Spencer Stone will play themselves in the upcoming film about their real-life thwarting of a terrorist attack in Paris, France.

While traveling in Europe, the three boarded a train from Brussels to Paris and were soon forced to subdue a man armed with an AK-47 with intentions of attacking the 500-plus passengers on board. The story received international news coverage and the three friends – one of which was in the Oregon National Guard and the other in the U.S. Air Force, were celebrated for their bravery.

Joining the real-life heroes in the film will be Jenna Fisher, Judy Greer and Ray Corasani. Taking on the younger versions of the three leads will be Paul-Mikél Williams, Max Ivutin, Bryce Gheisar, Cole Eichenberger and William Jennings.

This isn’t the first time Hollywood directors have turned to real soldiers. Michael Bay’s 2016 feature 13 Hours: The Secret Soldiers of Benghazi cast real-life soldiers Mark “Oz” Geist, Kris “Tanto” Paronto, and John “Tig” Tiegen in three of the six lead roles. 13 Hours ended up being one of Bay’s more well-received movies in recent memory.

The Warner Bros. picture will be based on the book The 15:17 to Paris: The True Story of a Terrorist, a Train, and Three American Heroes written by Sadler, Skarlatos, Stone and Jeffrey E. Stern.

Valve went to work on July 6 after a huge VAC ban wiped out over 40,000 steam accounts just after the 2017 Steam Summer Sale came to a conclusion.

The Steam Database picked up this wave of cheaters all before 12 pm ET. Usually, Valve bans around 3,000 people on a daily basis, but the graph below shows an absolutely dramatic increase in the Valve police serving its justice on July 6th. This is the largest ban wave since October 2016, when 15,227 bans took place. 

Coincidentally (or not?), the wave of bans took place the morning after the Steam Summer Sale ended. Valve manipulated the system a bit by enacting the ban wave just after people started to play their shiny, new games they bought on alt accounts to cheat on. Cheaters have always come in full force around the summer, especially because these huge sales give cheaters the opportunity to buy Counter Strike: Global Offensive at a massively reduced price.

A graveyard of dead inventories, many of whom were found from this wave, can be found on Reddits /r/VAC_Porn subreddit. In total, $8,674 in skins were lost to Valve in this process, according to vac-ban.com.

Surprisingly, around 4,972 of these bans happened in-game, which means those Overwatch demos people have been watching are finally starting to pay off in numbers. Griefers, suspected cheaters and throwers finally got what they had coming for them.

Glad Valve took a small stand against the cheaters in this game. If only they focused their attention on the more game-breaking bugs plaguing their popular game.

What’ll be most exciting about Floyd Mayweather-Conor McGregor won’t be the fight itself but to what might be a build up in a similar vein to the WWE. You shouldn’t expect anything less from these two thunderous personalities. We’ll finally have these two in the same room sooner in Los Angeles for the first leg of their four legged press tour.

If you’re reading this, I can only assume you won’t be there on August 26th to watch the fight, but if you plan on dropping the inflated $100 price tag to see McGregor box for the first time against one of the greatest defensive fighters of all time, you might as well get the most bang for your buck and watch tonight’s press conference. I’m sure Conor McGregor has been quietly writing down insults like he’ll be attending for Comedy Central Roast of Floyd Mayweather.

If you think this won’t be enough to hold you over you won’t have to worry because Mayweather and McGregor will be touring in London, Toronto, and Brooklyn with enough shit talking, build up, and analysis to fill up your whole summer if you wanted.

As announced earlier today, Netflix’s Stranger Things will officially return on October 27, 2017. If that wasn’t good enough news, new plot details for season two have emerged and they sound downright awesome.

One year after the events of the first season – which took the TV viewing public by storm – the Upside Down is seemingly bleeding into the town of Hawkins, Indiana, around the time of Halloween 1984. With a little bit of hindsight, people have begun to wonder just what organization was behind this whole mess. Season one’s “Chapter Six: The Monster” briefly mentioned Project MKUltra, but never did much following up. Now it appears as if season two will delve deeper into this shadow organization.

According to UPROXX, season two will position Hawkins, Indiana, as one of the locations of the CIA’s mind-control programs. Straight from the first line of the recently released plot summary: “1953, date unknown – MKUltra comes to Hawkins and begins experimentation.” Interesting, but what is MKUltra’s main focus now and how does it connect to Eleven (and One through Ten, for that matter) and the Upside Down? We need answers.

Quick history lesson: Project MKUltra was the code name given to the CIA’s pursuit of weaponizing mind control through hypnosis, experimental drugs and other methods. This is all true. The U.S. Government officially sanctioned the projects in 1953 and the program is most famous for creating LSD and using it on at-risk subjects such as mental patients, drug addicts and prison inmates without their consent or knowledge. The goal was to produce a mind-controlling substance and/or technique.

The CIA ceased MKUltra operations in 1971, right around the time Eleven would have been born in Stranger Things. As we found out in season one, a former Project MKUltra participant was pregnant during her testing. It’s easy to read between the lines on that one. Will Stranger Things suggest that what these “patients” were seeing while being experimented on were not actually hallucinations but real elements of the Upside Down? It seems like the logical next step to take.

Unfortunately, we’ll have to wait a few more months until season two answers our questions.

On July 11, home-field advantage for the World Series will be determined as the American League and National League all-stars play against each other. The American League has won the last four all-star games and will look to dominate its opposition once more. Standing in their way is the National League who will look to end the four game win streak and provide a National League team with home-field advantage in the World Series for the first time since 2012.

The American League will most likely choose Red Sox ace Chris Sale (11-4, 2.75 ERA) to start the game and then rely on other staters like Twins ace Ervin Santana (10-6, 2.99 ERA) and Royals Jason Vargas (12-3, 2.62 ERA). Afterwards, one can expect a healthy dose of Indians reliever Andrew Miller (1.42 ERA) and Red Sox closer Craig Kimbrel (23 saves and a 1.19 ERA). Overall, it makes up one great pitching staff.

The American League also has an impressive lineup that will rely on tons of speed from multiple Astros including Carlos Correa, Jose Altuve and George Springer while also possessing a ton of power courtesy of Yankees slugger Aaron Judge (30 HRs) and Blue Jays slugger Justin Smoak (23 HRs). The American League also have various sluggers who could provide crucial contributions off the bench including Home Run Derby participants Miguel Sano (21 HRs), Gary Sanchez (13 HRs) and Mike Moustakas (25 HRs).

The National League will most likely choose Nationals ace Max Scherzer (10-5, 2.10 ERA) to start this year’s All-Star Game and then rely on other quality starters like Diamondbacks pitcher Zack Greinke (11-4, 2.86 ERA) and Dodgers pitcher Alex Wood (10-0, 1.67 ERA). The National League also has a variety of elite relievers including Cubs closer Wade Davis and Dodgers closer Kenley Jansen. Overall, this pitching staff is also extremely solid.

The National League’s lineup is what I believe will separate them from the American League. This lineup is stacked to the brim with elite hitters. When Diamondbacks star Paul Goldschmidt (20 HRs and 67 RBIs) is coming off of your bench along with Reds first basemen Joey Votto (26 HRs and 68 RBIs), your team might be a little bit too good at hitting. This lineup has a perfect blend of average and power and should be able to score a decent amount of runs against the American League.

Although a lot of people dislike baseball due to its slow gameplay, this is one area where I think the MLB excels in. In my opinion, the MLB All-Star Game is the best in all sports. It is truly the only All-Star Game that actually means something. While the NFL, NBA and NHL rely on high scores and no defense in their All-Star Games, the MLB actually allows viewers to watch the best players in the sport play against each other with 100% effort. I hope that, at some point, the other major sports organizations adopt this rule and make their All-Star Games move competitive in the future.

I look forward to watching this game and expect the National League to come out victorious. I just think that the National League is too stacked on offense and will use its bullpen to maintain the lead to win by a score of 5-3.
