Marvel and Freeform are teaming up for the new TV series New Warriors, a half-hour scripted comedy about Marvel’s more out-there characters from Enlisted and Cougar Town creator Kevin Biegel. Now according to THR, AT&T Girl and This is Us actress Milana Vayntrub will star as Doreen Green AKA Squirrel Girl. That’s a fun little way to kick off this niche project.

Vayntrub as Green/Squirrel Girl will be the lead of the show alongside Baby Daddy‘s Derek Theler as Mister Immortal, a troublemaking misfit who can’t die, at least according to him.

They will be joined by Jeremy Tardy of the Dear White People Netflix series as Night Thrasher (great name), a YouTube superhero who doesn’t actually have any powers, Calum Worth of Austin & Ally as Speedball, a speedster (duh), Matthew Moy of 2 Broke Girls as germ-telepath Microbe and Kate Comer as Debrii, a lesbian telekinetic trickster who is dealing with her own tragic background at the hands of superheroes. Yeah, it’s a pretty eclectic group of characters which should make for some fun silliness.

Vayntrub wowed a lot of people in NBC’s This is Us following her turn as the AT&T Girl. Though her role wasn’t huge, her talent immediately stood out and she’s got this plucky wit that will serve her well as Squirrel Girl. She and her merry band of C-level superheroes may be, ahem, unheralded, but they will make for an entertaining mix of zany personalities.

It was announced on June 14, 2016 that after a six-year intermission, HBO’s Emmy-winning comedy series Curb Your Enthusiasm, starring creator Larry David is back for a 10-episode ninth season. Premiere is set for Sunday, October 1 at 10 PM on HBO. It’s going to be prettay, prettay, prettay, prettay, prettay amazing. I think Brace Land Jr. would agree.

He announced his return by saying: “In the immortal words of Julius Caesar, ‘I left, I did nothing, I returned.”

In addition to David, regulars such as Garlin, Hines, Essman, Smoove, Einstein and Lewis are expected to reprise their roles. Mary Steenburgen and Ted Danson will also return. Production for season 9 started on November 11, 2016. In February 2017, it was announced that Lauren Graham would be appearing in a recurring role in the new season. In May 2017, Jeff Garlin stated that the season 9 storyline was “rather insane”.

On July 10, 2017, HBO announced that the new season will premiere on October 1, 2017.

Big Cass Kicks Off Raw

The seven-foot-tall trash-talker kicks off tonight’s show. He talks sh*t about Enzo and even the crowd. He won’t accept them if they jump on the Big Cass bandwagon. Cass has big plans for the future; he’s going to win the Universal Championship, appear on talk shows, and become the biggest star of this business. Why? Because no one can touch Big Cass. No one is at his level…

Finn Balor vs. Elias Samson

Samson starts off this segment beneath a spotlight with an acoustic guitar in hand. He asks the crowd whether they want to walk with Elias. The crowd replies with a chorus of boos. Samson requests the audience and turn off their cellphones and wait to applaud until after he’s done singing. Samson sings about Balor not being a savior. He even sings a little about Houston (not Whitney or Bobby, folks).  Then Finn Balor’s music hits, effectively interrupting Elias’ makeshift concert.

Balor starts off this match strong and has Samson reeling by the time we go to commercial break.

Raw play-by-play commentator says that “during the commercial break, it’s been all Samson.” Samson is beating the crap out of Balor in the ring. We see a clip from what happened during the commercial as Samson hits Finn with a hard knee.

Balor tries to fight back, but Samson regains control, hitting Balor in the gut. Samson charges at Finn, but Balor puts his foot up and turns the tide. Balor is lighting up with Samson with stiff chops to the chest. Samson regains control for a moment, but Balor quickly regains ground, knocking Samson out of the ring. Balor was right about to kick Samson in the mouth, but Elias caught his leg and dropped him on his face.

Samson locks in the Fuji Wara Arm Bar. Balor grabs the bottom rope and Samson breaks up at the count of 4. Balor regroups and jumps right on Samson’s chest. But Elias quickly recuperates and beats Balor into the corner. Balor fights back, but Samson quickly squashes the momentum of “The Demon King.”

Balor rallies back with an overhead kick to the jaw. Finn hits a Sling Blade and then a drop kick. Balor ascends the top rope and hits a Coup de Grace. That it for Elias!

The Hardy Boyz In-Ring Segment

The Hardys are in the ring with something to say. They may have lost last night to Sheamus & Cesaro, but that doesn’t mean they’ll fade away and classify themselves as obsolete. The crowd chants “delete! delete! delete” beckoning to The Hardys days in the iMPACTful Wrestling.

Out comes Luke Gallows & Karl Anderson who basically say that The Hardys are washed up. They don’t belong in the WWE anymore. That’s some fighting words, and an impromptu match is scheduled as a result.

The Hardy Boyz vs. Luke Gallows & Karl Anderson

The Hardys control the match early on. But when we return from the commercial break, the team of Luke Gallows & Karl Anderson are solidly in control. They’re picking Jeff apart, almost knocking his head off with a double-team move. But then Jeff counters and tags in his brother Matt.

Matt smacks Karl’s head into the turnbuckles as the crowd chants “Delete!” over and over again.

Karl Anderson tries to turn the tide, but eats a Side Effect from Matt Hardy. Matt knocks Gallows off the apron and goes to work on Anderson. Matt ascends the top rope and jumps down on Anderson. Karl returns to his feet and charges at Matt who hits him with an elbow. Gallows hits Matt in the back of the head.

Anderson and Gallows hit a Magic Killer on Matt to end this match.

Luke Gallows & Karl Anderson defeat The Hardy Boyz

Post-Match: The team known as The Revival’s music hits. They enter the ring and beat up The Hardys. The Revival hits a Shatter Machine double-team move as a final statement.

Heidi McKinney, 27, is facing three years probation for drunkenly groping a fellow female passenger on board an Alaskan Airlines flight in May of 2016.

What Happened?

Prosecutors are seeking for a sentence of three years probation for assault with intent to commit a felony, a charge that McKinney pleaded guilty to in March. If convicted, this charge carries a maximum penalty of 10 years behind bars and a $250,000 fine.

McKinney was reportedly drunk when she boarded the flight from Las Vegas to Portland and sat next to a 19-year-old woman in an empty row. She is said to have tried to force the teen to drink alcohol she had smuggled on board and touched her breasts several times, letting her hands “linger” on the woman’s breasts.

McKinney then tried to put her hands on the other woman’s genitals, licked her ears and then straddled her while teller her, “I want to f—.”

After the teen rejected McKinney, she called her poor and the pair were separated on the plane before McKinney was arrested upon landing. McKinney’s male fiancee later told authorities that she did not “metabolize alcohol” and said “this is what happens when she drinks.”

Prosecutors argued to the court that the victim was permanently traumatized by the attack.

“Miss McKinney did so with the intent to humiliate and harass the victim. (She) both made contact with the victim’s body, including her inner thigh, and made a series of profane and lewd statements to the victim,” Assistant U.S. Attorney Ravi Sinha said in March.

Shortly after the March hearing, McKinney was found unconscious in a bar. Prior court records reveal that she had past convictions for drunk driving in 2008 and 2015.

Heidi McKinney is a 27-year-old who is facing three years probation for drunkenly groping a fellow female passenger on an Alaskan Airlines flight. Happy National Mojito Day, folks! It’s that time of the year specifically dedicated to celebrating this traditional Cuban highball. It’s a day when America honors that minty lime cocktail. And please, drink responsibly.

It isn’t your average Tuesday. Nope. Today’s National Mojito Day. Every July 11th, the 50 states of freedom pay tribute to the mixed drinks that came before us.

I do have one dominant mojito memory from my teenage years. I was seventeen years old and decided to be a bad boy and drink a little bit of Bacardi Mojito. Later that day, I went to my friend Mike’s birthday party. They were able to hide some warm beer in the garage. I drank half a cup and felt nauseous. I walked off and felt like I’m going to puke. I do end up puking right on the glass door while Mike’s mom stood in horror behind the door being splattered with stomach acid liquid.

Was it the mojito? Was it the warm beer? I’m not sure.

By the way, remember again to drink responsibly. And also be sure that you’re at least twenty-one years old before you pick up any mojito.

Mojito Ingredients

• 1.5 oz White Rum
• 6 Leaves of Mint
• Soda Water
• 1 oz Fresh Lime Juice
• 2 Teaspoons of Sugar

Mojito Preparation

• Mix sugar and lime juice with the mint leaves
• Pour rum in the glass and top that with soda water
• Garnish the glass with mint leaves

Have you ever seen someone, politics or otherwise, set their career aflame the way Chris Christie has? I mean, not counting the OJ Simpsons and Chris Benoits of the world, has any public figured tarnished their reputation so drastically, so quickly?

Back in 2013, Chris Christie was on the cover on TIME magazine, with the suggestion that he could be the GOP’s next great leader.

Now, just four short years and one Donald Trump later, and TIME is publishing articles about how Christie is the most unpopular governor in any state in over two decades. Talk about a fall from grace.

That said, I will give Christie credit for one thing: he’s in full heel turn, ‘f*ck it’ mode, and I can’t help but respect that. He knows his political career is 6-feet-under, so he’s spending what remaining time he has in the spotlight angling himself for his next gig. And that gig, in Christie’s dream world, is taking over for Mike Francesca on WFAN.

Christie has popped up on this show a couple of times now, but this time her got a taste of his potential future as the life of a radio show host. Mike from Montclair (which, as a New Jersey native, I can attest is quite the boujee town) called into to speak some truths, which included Christie both a fatass and a bully (both true.) Obviously, ole’ Mount Christie was none too pleased.

The body of Jerrell White, a missing 22-year-old student from South Carolina, has been found in a pond four days after he disappeared after stumbling out of a 4th of July party.

White, 22, was last seen on surveillance footage scaling a fence in Lancaster, South Carolina after leaving the holiday party. According to friends and family, White had become embroiled in an argument when he decided to leave. Authorities were searching for him for four days until his body was found.

Search crews, which included Lancaster County sheriff’s deputies, city and county firefighters, and emergency medical services crews, spent three days in deeply wooded areas searching for White.

On Monday, July 10, police recovered a body from a pond near to where he was seen climbing over the fence. It was later identified to be White.

In surveillance video obtained Friday by Channel 9, White is seen walking down a neighbor’s driveway, climbing over a fence and falling to the ground on the other side. He gets up and stumbles out of the view of the camera. The sheriff said the pond is near the fence where White was last seen.

White’s cellphone was found on the ground where he scaled the fence and his broken eyeglasses were found in the driveway of the house that hosted the party.

White was discovered by family members who were wondering how authorities missed that spot in the search. Crews searched another nearby pond using sonar. They didn’t do the same for the pond where White was found.

Sheriff’s Office officials said they had no indication he’d gone in that direction. They still walked around that area in search for White.

Benedict College, in Columbia, South Carolina, called White “bright and talented young man” in a Facebook post.

The Lancaster County Coroner’s office said it could take days before they determine a cause of death.

If we’re being completely honest, I’ve had a real difficult time thinking about anything else other than Game Of Thrones this week.

My head is filled with thoughts of wondering why Jon Snow is north of The Wall, or if Jaime will end up as the Queen Slayer, or whether the White Walkers will raise a dragon of their own.

So many questions and only 5 days until I begin to get answers. But until Sunday’s season 7 premiere, I’m ingesting any and all forms of Thrones that I can, including the casts’ stops at all the late night talk shows. Last night was Kit Harrington’s turn, as he appeared on Jimmy Kimmel Live. 

In between segments of Kimmel GRILLING Harrington for Thrones spoilers, Jimmy unveiled Harrington’s previously unseen audition tape for Game Of Thrones.

I think it goes without saying we’re all glad he landed the roll of Jon Snow.

Atiana De La Hoya, the daughter of Oscar De La Hoya and Shanna Moakler, is an 18-year-old model. She is set to appear on the upcoming Lifetime reality series Growing Up Supermodel, which follows seven celebrity children who try to step out of their famous parents’ shadows and make names for themselves.

De La Hoya, of course, is a former professional boxer who fought from 1992 to 2008. Nicknamed “The Golden Boy”, De La Hoya is considered one of the best boxers of his generation.

Her mother, Shanna Moakler, is an American model and reality television star. Bakari Henderson, a 22-year-old Austin, Texas native who died on Friday, July 7, was beaten by a group of at least ten people while traveling in Greece. So far, eight people have been arrested, and two of them have been charged with murder.

Henderson, who attended The Eller College of Management at The University of Arizona on a full academic scholarship and graduated in May with a BS in Business Finance and Entrepreneurship, was beaten to death outside a bar on the island of Zakynthos, Greece.

According to reports, Henderson was killed after a fight broke out. According to a friend who was with Henderson at the time, it started after Henderson and another friend set down their drinks at the other end of a table where two men were sitting. He says the two men grabbed the beers, smashed them on the table, and used the shattered bottles as weapons.

That same friend tells CBS  that the local media reports that the attack was sparked by an attempt to take a photo with a waitress are untrue.

According to police, at least 10 people followed Henderson out of the bar, including the bouncer and another employee. They are accused of beating Henderson and leaving him unconscious in the street.

Eight people have been arrested and are now facing voluntary manslaughter charges. The suspects, including the bouncer and bar employee, covered their heads as they made their way into court.

One of their attorneys argued there was no intent to kill Henderson, who Greek police say died from severe head injuries after the beating.

The Henderson family says their main focus now is getting Bakari’s body back home. The U.S. State Department says it’s helping the family and is in touch with Greek authorities.

Bakari loved spending time with family and friends, traveling, and meeting new people. He was a big thinker and enjoyed coming up with new business ventures. Bakari was an inspiration to all he met. He loved life and lived it to the fullest.

The developers at Blizzard have always had a knack with connecting with their player base, so when Jeff Kaplan, lead director of Overwatch, makes an announcement on his channel about a new addition to the game, people listen. Most of the time, it’s an announcement we’ve been waiting for.

Below are the 4 new character releases that the Overwatch team has posted over the lifespan of the game.

Doomfist

Doomfist is love. This character has long been hyped and anticipated by the Overwatch community, with no conclusive leaks confirming the character’s existence until his official release. This led to the community constantly second-guessing themselves until yesterday, saying to themselves ‘we know Doomfist is coming up next, right?! RIGHT?! Just make an announcement already!’

Now that Doomfist is a playable character, the Overwatch community is going bananas. His origin story on YouTube reached #1 on the Trending page and earned over 4 million views in the first day and gaming YouTubers across the ecosystem are taking advantage of the hype by pumping thousands of Doomfist gameplay videos out.

Doomfist is currently only available on the Overwatch PTR, but my god is he not the most fun character I’ve ever played.

Orisa

Orisa came in the midst of several leaks about Doomfist surfacing, which took many fans by surprise. Her release deflated the hopes of many players about Doomfist becoming a playable character, but she was a legend in her own right.

Blizzard describes her as “the central anchor of her team” who can protect her teammates with a barrier, launch graviton charges to throw enemies off and supercharge her allies to bolster their damage using her Ultimate ability.

Unfortunately, upon her release, she wasn’t completely balanced, and you can argue that she still isn’t completely ready to be in the meta just yet. With the meta being so geared towards attack-heavy builds, and with a common character stack having three offensive characters, she hasn’t yet made a prominent presence. Maybe someday, though!

Sombra

Sombra didn’t make a splash the fans expected her to have when she was released. Her complex and unique playstyle threw people off completely, and even to this day she’s still considered an underwhelming character to play.

This character took an especially long time to finally release since she needed a lot of changes before she was moved onto the live version out of the PTR. Blizzard’s Geoff Goodman said “I want to make it clear that the sky wasn’t falling and we’re just going to try some things to see what works. That said, to my surprise, basically everything worked out even better than I had hoped.”

The Mexican spy has a skillset devised for infiltrating and shutting down enemy abilities to open up opportunities for her team to exploit their enemy’s weaknesses.

Ana

Finally, we have Ana. She was the first new character added to the Overwatch lineup. A support sniper, her arsenal brought even more tactical strategies to the support class.

Blizzard describes Ana as a “battle-scarred veteran who supports her teammates from a distance using a unique and highly specialized collection of weapons.”

Her release set the stage for how subsequent characters would be released, giving us some interesting insight on how to anticipate a hero’s release. She was teased a week beforehand, given a small background, and finally announced and released on the PTR in the same day.

Islamic State of Iraq and Syria leader Abu Bakr al-Baghdadi has reportedly been killed.

“A London-based monitoring group with a solid history of accurately reporting incidents from inside war-torn Syria said Tuesday that it had been able to confirm the death of Islamic State of Iraq and Syria (ISIS) leader Abu Bakr al-Baghdadi.”

According to the director of the London-based Syrian Observatory for Human Rights, a “1st tier and two 2nd tier ISIS commanders from Deir Ezzor” confirmed al-Baghdadi’s death. Reports from al-Jazeera indicate that “al-BBaghdadiwas present in eastern parts of Deir az Zor province” in recent months, but it was unclear if he died in the area or elsewhere.

al-Baghdadi was the leader of the Sunni Salafi jihadist militant jihadist organization known as ISIS, which controls territory in several countries. ISIS  has been designated a terrorist organization by the United Nations, as well as by the European Union and many individual states.

On June 16, Russian officials claimed there was a “high degree of probability” al-Baghdadi had been killed in a Russian airstrike in Raqqa, Syria. Despite this, U.S. and Iraqi officials doubted Moscow’s claims, saying they had no evidence to suggest al-Baghdadi was dead.

A spokesman for the U.S.-led anti-ISIS coalition told CBS that they “cannot confirm this report” but that they “hope it is true.” Furthermore, the statement said that they “strongly advise ISIS to implement a strong line of succession, it will be needed.”

On 4 October 2011, the U.S. State Department added al-Baghdadi to the Specially Designated Nationals List and announced a reward of up to $10 million for information or intelligence leading to his capture or death. On December 16,2016, the reward was to $25 million.

Authorities within the United States have also accused al-Baghdadi of kidnapping, enslaving, and repeatedly raping an American citizen, Kayla Mueller, who ISIL later falsely alleged was killed in a Jordanian air strike.

In 2014, reports said that al-Baghdadi has a doctorate for Islamic studies in Quranic studies, from Saddam University in Baghdad. According to a biography that circulated on extremist forums in July 2013, al-Baghdadi obtained a BA, MA, and PhD in Islamic studies from the Islamic University of Baghdad.Another report says that he earned a doctorate in education from the University of Baghdad.

There’s long been a dispute on who the youngest mayor in New York City history was. Most believe that is was John Purroy Mitchel, NYC’s mayor from 1914 to 1917, who was 34. Mitchel was dubbed the “Boy Mayor” and captivated the entire city as arguably the first media darling of the Big Apple’s political scene. But in reality, the city’s youngest mayor arrived more than 20 years prior. Hugh J. Grant was just 30-years-old when he was inaugurated in 1889.

Collin Slattery has them both beat.

The 28-year-old digital marketing professional is hoping to become the undisputed winner in this category as he embarks on a Mayoral run here in New York City. No, he’s not doing it just for the title of “Youngest Mayor.” He’s doing it because he actually wants to “help.” Yeah, it sounds like a line, but when you talk to Slattery, you start to get the impression that he’s too aw-shucks innocent to have an agenda.

“I love New York,” Slattery told me when I asked why anyone should vote for a callow millennial with zero political experience. “People know within two years of getting here if they are a lifer. I’m a lifer. New York is the most diverse city in the county and the center of the human world. It can and should be better. I’m willing to tackle issues and I’m not going to bullshit anyone. All I want to do is bring good ideas and make long lasting changes that help people.”

There’s that word again. Help. Every politician wants to help. But Slattery has the balls to back up his claims.

Coming from an impoverished single-parent home, Slattery didn’t have the opportunity to go to college. Or to eat consistently. He was on his own at 18, playing poker as a “side hustle” to make money. But he used his data driven mind and self-described “nerd” learning skills to forge a path in the digital marketing world. Eventually, he caught the attention of the now infamous Martin Shkreli, who in 2009 offered Slattery a six-figure job opportunity that could evolve into a multimillion dollar position. While Slattery had no idea that Shkreli would eventually go on to hike the price of AIDS medication by 5,000%, he could tell right away that the man was running a fraud.

But that money! That’s hard for anyone to pass up, especially someone with Slattery’s background.

“It was a tough decision,” he said thoughtfully in between bites of his lunch. “I could either take the money and follow an unethical and illegal path, or I could go the moral route and continue living in poverty.”

Slattery not only declined the offer, he reported Shkreli to the SEC for fraud.

So, yeah, when he says he wants to help people, maybe we should believe it. The guy may be a video game enthusiast and a laughably untalented golfer, but he’s got a steeliness to him when it comes to matters of importance.

But he’s so young. He doesn’t have any experience. How will he know how to govern?

Fair points all around. Slattery is young. He doesn’t have any political experience. But he’s not glossing over these two very important concerns voters might have. He’s addressing them head on.

“I want to stand up for progressive values,” he said. “I have executive skills that translate and where they don’t, I plan on relying on experienced team members and delegating effectively. I’m not blind to these points, I have a lot to learn. But my nerdiness allows me to dive into what I don’t know…My upbringing built resilience and independence. I’ve had to deal with hard situations and make tough decisions before.”

Does Slattery have a shot at unseating incumbent Bill de Blasio? It’s a near-impossible task to stand up to the millions of dollars the establishment has at its disposal. Perhaps the more important question to ask is what does Slattery represent?

“The responsibility for [millennial’s] future is on our shoulders. We can’t rely on Baby Boomers. We’re going to be in a bad situation if we don’t start acting now. Let’s get things done together.”

Dave Cipollini, a 22-year-old West Virginia University student who was banned from Donald Trump’s Taj Mahal casino in Atlantic City, executed his hilarious revenge when he hopped in the shower of one of the hotel’s suites during its liquidation sale.

What Happened?

New Jersey TV News spotted Cipollini getting a quick rinse in on Saturday as they toured the resort that is being stripped to make way for the Hard Rock Hotel and Casino. While other shoppers scrambled to take advantage of the fire sale to nap lamps and beds, Cipollini scored a free shower.

The fraternity brother told the TV crew: “It’s a liquidation sale. So they’re giving us a sample. I wanted to see how the shower was. Maybe I could get a free shower.

“I have cold water at my house right now, so this is a nice way to get a nice little hot shower.”

Cipollini unfortunately didn’t come fully prepared, as he asked the crew from NJ.com is they had soap, shampoo and even a towel. The WVU advertising major maintains that he pulled the stunt just because he “wanted to get clean.”

However, further prompting revealed that he had an ulterior motive.

Cipollini admitted that he had been banned from the Trump Ta Mahal for life for jumping onstage during a concert at the hotel. He told Patch.com that security pulled him down before dragging him to a nearby alleyway and saying “Don’t come back. Ever.”

He said: “They took a picture of me and said something about facial recognition. I definitely got some revenge today.”

Taj Mahal

Donald Trump opened the Taj Mahal in 1990, proclaiming it to be “the eighth wonder of the world.” However, within a year of its opening, the establishment filed for bankruptcy under growing debt.

Trump removed himself from many of his Atlantic City dealings in 2009 after losing control of the casino company he once owned in a bankruptcy.

Billionaire investor Carl Icahn shut down the Taj Mahal in October after a contentious strike with the casino’s main union and sold the property to Hard Rock International in March for $50 million. Trump opened the Taj Mahal for a reported $1.2 billion.

Following a $375 million renovation, the Hard Rock Hotel and Casino is expected to open in summer 2018.

Has there ever been a television show to come out of obscurity and capture the pop cultural zeitgeist quite like the first season of Stranger Things?

Back when the show quietly dropped on Netflix during Summer 16, it debuted to minimal hype. In fact, I remember G-chatting my friends (while hard at work, of course) about this ‘new mindf*ck alien Netflix show’ that we should give a try. And try it we did. We sat down that Sunday for the first episode and didn’t stand up again until we finished. In the age of bingeing, this was a show that truly optimized the appeal of ‘the binge’ — eight tight hours of edge of your seat entertainment.

When the show first aired, a second season was far from guaranteed. However, once the masses got a hold of the delight that is Stranger Things, a ‘sequel’ was greenlit, and the show’s creators, the Duffer Brothers, were off and running.

While we are still waiting on a full official trailer for Stranger Things 2, odds are we won’t have to wait much longer, as it will likely debut at San Diego Comic-Con, which begins on July 20.
