Lonzo Ball Stinks It Up In Summer League Debut, But LaVar Ball Is Still As Cocky As Ever

ESPN

Lonzo Ball made his highly anticipated NBA Summer League debut last night, and besides delivering a sweet alley-oop pass, he didn’t do much big balling. Watch Ball electrify the crowd with a dime to Brandon Ingram on his very first touch.

After that awesome alley-oop, it was all downhill for Lonzo. He finished with only five points on 2-of-15 shooting from the floor and 1-of-11 shooting from three-point range while chipping in four rebounds and five assists. The Lakers would go on to drop a close one to the Clippers, losing 96-93 in overtime.

But if you thought that LaVar would be worried about Lonzo’s disappointing performance, then you’ve got another thing coming. The ultimate hype man is still as cocky as ever when it comes to Lonzo’s abilities on the court.

I will admit that LaVar is the best at putting a positive spin on a negative outcome. Lonzo could’ve went 0-for-100, and LaVar would’ve still gave him props for being resilient. I don’t condone going to a goddamn Summer League game over the movies, though. That badass Spidey flick isn’t going to watch itself.

Bakari Henderson’s Facebook

In heartbreaking news, 22-year-old Bakari Henderson was beaten to death in a bar brawl on the Greek island of Zakynthos. The recent University of Arizona graduate was originally from Austin, Texas, and he majored in Business Finance and Entrepreneurship. Henderson was traveling with his Phi Gamma Delta fraternity brothers to work on a photo shoot for his clothing line when he became the victim of a chaotic bar fight.

Via the New York Post:

The 22-year-old was outside of the bar early Friday morning when he was assaulted by more than 10 people, according to news station KVOA. It is unclear why the fight broke out.

He was taken to a local hospital where he was pronounced dead of severe head injuries.

Four men were arrested in connection to his death, including a security guard and a bar employee.

The investigation is still ongoing, and the United States Department of State is working with local authorities. According to CNN, University of Arizona President Robert C. Robbins has released a statement on Henderson’s passing.

“All of us at the University of Arizona are shocked and saddened by the loss of our recent graduate, Bakari Henderson. Our hearts and prayers are with his friends and family,” Robbins said. “I can only imagine the deep sense of loss they must be feeling at his untimely death. It is always a tragedy when a young life ends before it has really yet to begin.”

Rest in peace, Bakari.

Shia LaBeouf’s Crazy Ass Arrested On Charges Of Disorderly Conduct, Obstruction, & Public Drunkenness

Because Shia LaBeouf is allergic to staying out of trouble, the controversial actor is once again in hot water. While details are still scarce, TMZ is reporting that the 31-year-old was arrested in Georgia on charges of disorderly conduct, obstruction, and public drunkenness. He was taken into custody at 4:00 a.m. Saturday morning, so he must’ve had himself one helluva night. Lots of beers and bad decisions for our boy Louis Stevens.

Even though there is obviously no good time to get arrested, this could work out as a savvy marketing move for Shia. Just a couple of days ago, the redband trailer for Borg/McEnroe dropped, making it a perfect time for Shia to get his name buzzing around the World Wide Web. There’s no such thing as bad press, and this incident also further illustrates that Shia is perfectly suited to portray John McEnroe. Talk about two dudes with legendary tempers.

Be Careful Out There, Gonorrhea Is Becoming Increasingly Difficult To Treat

In some extremely troubling news, gonorrhea is becoming harder and harder to treat with antibiotics. The sexually transmitted infection is getting smarter like a goddamn computer programmed to destroy your love life.

Here’s CNN with the unnerving details.

“The bacteria that cause gonorrhea are particularly smart. Every time we use a new class of antibiotics to treat the infection, the bacteria evolve to resist them,” said Teodora Wi, a human reproduction specialist at the WHO, in a news release.

Three superbugs — bacteria that cannot be killed by the best available drug — were detected in Japan, France and Spain, according to the WHO.

“We need to be more vigilant now,” Wi told reporters in a phone briefing.

Each year, about 78 million people worldwide are infected with gonorrhea, the WHO said. In the United States, the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention estimates there are 820,000 new gonorrhea infections each year.

Data from 77 countries collected by WHO shows there is a widespread resistance to older, cheaper antibiotics and in some countries, the infection has became “untreatable by all known antibiotics,” the international health organization said in the news release.

Superbugs!? Are these little monsters pumping iron or something!? The fact that gonorrhea has become untreatable in some countries is absolutely terrifying. The next time I travel abroad, my penis is going to instinctively retreat into my body like a frightened turtle. Better safe than sorry, folks.

We need Dave Chappelle to put out an updated remix about the dangers of gonorrhea ASAP. Knowledge is power, and disease-free genitals are the best genitals.

Trump Vs. CNN’s Ultimate Meme Compilation Is Required To Watch Before You Die

CNN was going bananas last week after a GIF was released showing Trump attacking Vince McMahon with a CNN logo on his face. Of course, the Cable News Network found out the identity of the Reddit user who created that video and that person apologized.

The network was too butt hurt for words. But actually, what that dude did was amateur hour to a video released from the freedom addicts over at InfoWars. They released over eight solid minutes of memes.

I wonder how butt hurt CNN will get after watching this video. Trump went full hunk on “fake news.”

Infowars is relentless when it comes to their Trump vs. CNN shtick. CNN is owned in almost every way imaginable in that meme compilation video. Pop culture has been spliced into sweet lulz for CNN. But not so sweet for the fellas Trump calls “really fake news.” But hey, that’s just the president’s current opinion.

Ever see Trump in arcade-form fending off CNN? It’s like a space game from the ’80s with annoying political shills everywhere. It’s a little hard to wrap your joystick around, but definitely worth the laugh.

Trump’s head is oddly reminiscent of Pacman. He’s firing Twitter and Facebook blasts at all his obstacles.

Okay. Okay. This is the point of the conversation when things get controversial. Here’s a scene from an Indiana Jones film and let’s just say that things didn’t turn out well for the person with the CNN face…

Infowars is really pushing the envelope. Is this all in good fun? I wonder what Kathy Griffin has to say about all this…

Acrobat Dies Performing Stunt Before Green Day’s Concert At Mad Cool Festival In Spain

Pedro Aunión Monroy’s Facebook

On Friday night, 42-year-old acrobat Pedro Aunión Monroy passed away after an aerial stunt at the Mad Cool Festival in Spain went horribly wrong. Just before Green Day’s set, Monroy fell from a box that was lifted 100 feet in the air by a crane. You can watch video of Monroy’s fall here, but it is obviously very disturbing.

Monroy died shortly after his fall despite the best efforts from paramedics. The show continued with only a slight delay, and Green Day went onstage to perform without knowing that Monroy had passed. The band posted the following messages on Twitter after their set.

Lots of people are upset at both Green Day and Mad Cool Festival for not cancelling the rest of the concert after such a tragic event took place. According to the Rolling Stone, Mad Cool Festival released this statement to defend their actions.

“Mad Cool Festival regrets the terrible accident that the aerial dancer suffered during the second day of the festival. For security reasons, the festival decided to continue with its programming,” organizers wrote. “We send our most sincere condolences to all his family. Tomorrow Saturday 8, during the festival, we will render a heartfelt tribute to the artist.”

Rest in peace, Pedro.

Migos Get Kicked Off Delta Flight, Claim Racial Profile and Threaten Lawsuit, So Delta Gives Them A Freakin’ Plane

Takeoff from Migos claimed to be in dreamland when he awoke to an angry crew member telling him to leave. His rap group and manager followed him outside the plane to complain about the ordeal. They were suppose to be going to a show in Des Moines, Idaho, but they were stuck dealing with Delta in Atlanta, Georgia. The manager was outraged, threatened the company with a lawsuit and claimed racial profiling played apart in their decision to remove Takeoff from the flight.

“You kicked us off a plane for doing absolutely nothing,” says the manager.

On the other side of the spectrum, Delta claims that the group “repeatedly refused to follow crew member instructions to buckle their seat belts and stow carry-on in overhead bins,” and as a result, “Delta flight 1532 from Atlanta to Des Moines returned to the gate, prior to departure, (in order) to deplane several customers seated.”

Okay, Delta. Then why did you give Migos an entire freakin’ plane afterwards?

Instagram Photo

Delta obviously smelled a bad PR stunt from a mile away, and decided to mend their bridge with Migos. I guess it’s better than dealing with the legal fees and negative attention they may receive as a result of preventing Takeoff from taking off.

In the end, Migos made it to the show. Not as early as they would have wanted, but it’s pretty f**king sweet to have a plane all to yourself and your crew.

You’re probably expecting me to tie all of this together into a cheesy Bad and Boujee reference, but I refuse.

Too late…

Mike Pence Memes: Nasa, "Do Not Touch" Sign Twitter Memes

Imgur

Apparently, Donald Trump isn’t the only one who has a problem keeping his hand to himself. A photo is making the rounds on the internet of Vice President Mike Pence touching NASA equipment labelled, “DO NOT TOUCH.”

Pence visited NASA’s Kennedy Space Center in Cape Canaveral, Florida. This is where the touching fiasco begins. During this week’s visit, Reuters photographer Mike Brown snapped a photo of Pence putting his hand on equipment that specifically instructs people not to touch. But bad boy Mike thought otherwise and, as a result, a meme was born.

Pence really had his hand on some cake…

This was a star-defining moment…

No means no, Mr. Vice President…

Give me whatever he’s been smoking….

Hands off the scientific equipment!

STOP! Pence Time!

After the smoke settled, only memes remained! Mike Pence even got it in on the fun, as he took aim at “Little” Marco Rubio…

Marco fired back with his own unfunny response…

Alright. Alright. It looks like Pence has been down with dank memes all along…

And hey, it looks like NASA was completely fine with Pence touching the equipment in the first place. According to their statement, they were even honored by his visit. Pence and NASA are like super cool, bro.

“Procedures require the hardware to be cleaned before tiles are bonded to the spacecraft, so touching the surface is okay,” NASA spokesman Bob Jacobs said. “Otherwise, the hardware would have had a protective cover over it like the thermal heat shield, which was nearby.”

Pence and NASA are totally tight.

One passenger decided to get extra sneaky and recorded a couple leaving an airplane bathroom after they had committed themselves to the “mile high club.” During a recent Virgin Atlantic flight from London to Miami, David Eve captured a viral video for the ages. He captures the lovebirds ready to leave their nest. The lady exits first followed by this grinning guy only moments later.

In all fairness, this couple was just as sneaky as the person filming. But at least they didn’t have to endure hearing other people’s sex noises.

The dude leaving the bathroom is smiling ear-to-ear like the Cheshire Cat from Alice In Wonderland mixed with Jerry Seinfeld.

But just as the headline suggests, the lady involved didn’t seem too thrilled as she exited the bathroom stall. Maybe she felt embarrassed or nervous after experiencing the ‘mile high club’ with only a thin beige-colored door preventing the couple from public indecency charges.

Or maybe, just maybe, he ain’t hittin’ it right. Nah. Couldn’t be.

Well, it’s a long flight to Miami. Maybe the turbulence can finish the job.

Let’s take another look at this legendary moment in time…

UFC 214 will take place Saturday, July 29th, in Anaheim, California. The event was originally scheduled for back in January but got rescheduled since not enough suitable headliners were going to participate at the time.

Fast forward six months later and now we’re in store for what’s a star-studded affair. There will be 14 different match-ups but the most exciting will be the headliner of Daniel Cormier vs Jon Jones. Protesters Came Out In Droves To KKK Rally In Charlottesville, Virginia

On Saturday, roughly 50 Ku Klux Klan members and supporters held a rally at Justice Park in Charlottesville, Virginia. The city had decided to remove a statue of confederate general Robert E. Lee from the park, and this unsurprisingly made the KKK very angry.

Charlottesville mayor Mike Signer told residents to avoid the gathering, so they wouldn’t give these racist jackasses the attention and publicity that they were desperately craving. But citizens couldn’t resist the chance to give the KKK a piece of their mind, as approximately 1,000 counterprotesters showed up to the rally.

Here’s CNN with all of the pertinent details on how the counterprotesters clashed with the protesters.

Shouting “racists go home,” the crowd drowned out the Klansmen’s chants of “white power.” Despite police lines, a few brief scuffles broke out. Counterprotesters tried to stop the Klansmen from entering and leaving the park, video showed.

After about 40 minutes, police helped the KKK members push through the crowd to reach their vehicles, Dickler said. Some protesters tried to block the Klan vehicles and police then declared the gathering an unlawful assembly, Dickler said.

As police began to move back toward Justice Park, a large crowd followed, Dickler said. There were a number of incidents, including the use of pepper spray by the crowd, Dickler said. When the crowd didn’t follow orders to disperse, state police released three canisters of tear gas and the crowd left, Dickler said.

She said three people were taken to the hospital — two for heat-related issues and one for alcohol usage.

Twenty-three people were arrested. It was not clear what they were charged with or whether those arrested were Klan supporters, counterprotesters or some from each group.

To further illustrate the wild scene in Charlottesville, here are a few videos from Twitter.

Goddamn, the KKK is the worst. The Civil War was like 150 years ago. You lost; get over it.

Wayne Rooney is heading back to where his professional soccer career started, as the legendary goalscorer signed a two-year deal with Everton. Rooney played for Everton from 2002-2004, then spent the next 13 years of his illustrious career with Manchester United.

The 31-year-old grew into an international superstar during his tenure with Manchester United, becoming their all-time leading scorer with 253 goals in 559 matches. With Rooney working his magic on the pitch, Man U won the Premier League five times, the UEFA Champions League once, the Football League Cup three times, the FA Cup once, and the UEFA Europa League once.

According to BBC, Rooney seems pumped about rejoining Everton.

England international Rooney said he was “ecstatic” and his “first game back will be an emotional day”.

“It’s a great feeling to be back. I cannot wait to meet the lads, get on the training pitch and then get on the pitch to play,” he added.

Rooney’s return comes as United look set to sign Everton striker Romelu Lukaku, with a £75m deal for the Belgium international agreed between the two clubs.

“I’m not just coming back because it’s the team I support, the team I grew up playing for – I’m coming back because I feel the club can move forward and be successful,” said Rooney, who scored 17 goals in 77 games in his first spell at Goodison.

“I want to be part of it. There will be pressure on me to perform, but I’m ready to go. I believe I can help move this club forward and be more successful on the pitch.”

In honor of Rooney’s return to Everton, let’s take a trip down memory lane and watch his first professional goal. Time is a flat circle after all.

U2 is currently on a world tour in celebration of the 30th anniversary of their beloved 1987 album The Joshua Tree. On Saturday, they kicked off the Europe leg of The Joshua Tree Tour 2017 with a concert in London, England’s Twickenham Stadium. Noel Gallagher’s High Flying Birds served as U2’s opening act, and for a grand finale, U2 brought out Noel to perform the Oasis classic “Don’t Look Back in Anger.”

You can watch U2 and Noel deliver a powerful rendition of the song in the video below.

Goosebump City. “Don’t Look Back in Anger” has turned into an anthem for all of England after the tragic terrorist attack at Ariana Grande’s Manchester concert. Chris Martin and Ariana also performed the song in amazing fashion at the One Love Manchester benefit show.

U2 will be back at Twickenham Stadium tonight for another concert, and I really hope they close out their set the same exact way. That song is absolutely impossible not to sing along to.
