Nintendo caught everyone’s attention this year with the Switch, but now gamers want more. To satisfy their fan’s thirst to use the new portable system, Nintendo just announced a slew of games to be released this year and next. With a new Metroid on the way, which hasn’t had a sequel since 2010, and a release date for Super Mario Odyssey, fans of Nintendo are quite happy. However, the live stream had other good spread across it, so we compiled the best trailers from the presentation. Check below for the top 5 trailers for games coming to the Nintendo Switch.

#5: Metroid Prime 4

Okay, so the trailer doesn’t have a lot to offer besides the happiness that another Metroid on the way, but Nintendo also announced a portable Metroid to tide us over until this game comes out. It is really up in the air for what this game could be, for it could be a revival of the series or a direct sequel to the 2007 Metroid Prime 3: Corruption. More news will come out when the release date approaches, but the success of the Switch has Nintendo bringing back everyone’s favorite old franchises.

#4: Kirby

Kirby seemed to have a better life on the portable DS and Gameboy than it did on Nintendo’s consoles, so it’s nice to see a breath of fresh air in with a Nintendo Switch Kirby Game. It seems Nintendo has caught onto the success that duo Kirby games have had in the past, so they have upped the ante and made it a four person playable game. Grab your buddies and play it sober or even drunk, for this game looks like it will be a blast to play.

#3: Rocket League

It seemed like it was bound to happen, as this PC game had already spread its roots to Xbox and PS4, so it only makes sense to move it to the Switch. I’m sure a lot of Rocket League fans will go out to by a Switch just play this game on the go. This reveal came out of nowhere as many just thought that FIFA and Skyrim were the only games getting ported over to the Switch. Another bombshell that the trailer showed is the fact that the game with have cross network play, so a PC player can play against a Switch player. With Rocket League coming to the Switch, it shows that big companies are trying to catch on to the success that the Switch is dealing out, so one can hope what other games will get ported over to the Nintendo system.

#2: Skyrim

While we have known that Skyrim will be coming to the Switch, back when the Switch was announced in October of 2016, it is nice for it to finally get a release date. Another goodie that Nintendo announced with this game, is that it will have Amiibo support. While the Amiibo only showed a fierce Nord rocking a Link outfit and the master sword, who knows what other Amiibo goodies Nintendo will include with the game.

It also seems like Skyrim is taking full advantage of the motion control sticks, as you will be able to slash, shoot, and block with the Switch handheld controllers. Skyrim was originally released in 2011, but this game still continues to keep its sales up as fans just fall in love with this game every time they play it.

Super Mario Odyssey was the main reason Nintendo fans tuned into the live stream, as many were looking to see how Nintendo was going to reimagine this series. With the success of Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild, which revamped the game and showed the potential of the Switch, fans are holding their breath in excitement to see if Nintendo can do the same for the Mario series.

The Italian plumber has gone through a lot of changes over the years and has become the mascot for the Japenese based company. Ever since Super Mario 64, Nintendo has been spicing up the Mario games every way they can with Super Mario Sunshine to Super Mario Galaxy, I mean this trailer had me when I saw that I can take control of a T-Rex. With a release date set for October, you might want to preorder this game for it may be flying off the shelves.

After making a name for herself as the ‘villain’ in the most recent season of The Bachelor, Corinne Olympios is back in the news again, this time for an incident that went down on the set of Bachelor In Paradise.

According to Los Angeles Times reporter Amy Kaufman, on the first day of filming, Jackson and Olympios got ‘extremely intoxicated.’ Olympios allegedly approached Jackson at the bar and kissed him. From there, they proceeded to the pool, where they got naked.

As the two were in the pool, a source said that it turned into ‘soft core porn’. One of the producers who witnessed the incident did not show up for work the following day. This producer has allegedly sued the production over the misconduct she witnessed.

Furthermore, Olympios is lawyering up and suing the producers, claiming that they should have stepped in to help her given how intoxicated she was.

Taylor Pifer’s friend, Brianna Wadsworth, wrote on Facebook, “Rest in peace to my soulmate and her family. We have created so many memories growing up. Taylor & I were practically inseparable. She even went to warped tour with me even tho it wasn’t her taste in music but she still found a way to make the day a blast. It’s crazy to think we talked about a week ago making plans to hang out next time I’m in town. Kylie & I went to the same college so we always found an excuse to meet up for lunch or dinner and go to different events on campus.”

Taylor was an active softball player while in high school. When she moved onto college, she gained employment in Kent State Fashion Management Store. On her resume, she lists her former jobs as talent scout for Forever 21 and The Hunt.

The New Day kicks off SmackDown Live

The New Day start tonight’s show in a big way with a Marti Gras celebration with bright colors and music. It’s a celebration, b**tches!

Xavier Woods pokes fun of The Usos, calling them the off-off-off-off-off Broadway rendition of Straight Outta Compton. Xavier believes they’ll beat The Usos this Sunday and take the titles back to New Orleans at WrestleMania 34. The Usos come out and call The New Day make a Drumline reference.

Breezango come out next and The Fashion Police are on the case! The Usos have obviously violated a fashion law. Next, we get The Colons, and we got a match, folks!

The New Day & Breezango vs. The Usos & The Colons

Fandango tags in Kofi Kingston and then Jimmy Usos tagged in Primo. Kingston beats up Primo and then tags in Xavier Woods who double teams the Colon cousin. Fandango gets the tag next and Primo regains control. But ‘Dango  turns the tide.

The good guys are working like a well-oiled machine. Xavier and Tyler Breeze even do a bit of double-teaming, as Tyler sends Primo flying with a head-scissors. The bad guys are reeling out of the ring while The New Day and Breezango celebrate within the ring.

During the commercial break, The Usos turn the tide, taking Tyler to their penitentiary. Primo gets the tag and puts the hurting on Breeze, lifting him in a stalled vertical suplex. But Breeze fights back and he’s able to take down both Colon cousins.

Xavier Woods gets the tag and comes in like a great ball of fire. Before Kofi tags in, Xavier flies over the top rope onto The Colons. Kofi dominates Jimmy Uso and takes him out with a Trouble in Paradise. Jey breaks up the pin. Chaos ensues in the ring.

Primo gets the tag and attempts a backstabber on Kofi, but the wily veteran holds onto the ropes. Xavier gets the tag and Primo gets taken out with an Up, Up, Down, Down from the top rope.

The New Day & Breezango defeat The Usos & The Colons

Mojo Rawley is being interviewed backstage about his loss last week to WWE Champion Jinder Mahal. Rawley says Mahal isn’t the same guy he beat two months ago. But regardless, his loss last week was devastating. But a small part of him is glad that he lost. He’s going to use his loss and he’s “gonna use it as a springboard to up his game in the future because the best of Mojo Rawley is yet to come!”

But then out comes: woo, woo, woo, you know it, bro! Zack Ryder is back and the Hyped Bros have some unfinished business to take care of as a tag team.

Naomi vs. Tamina Snuka

“The Ravishing Russian” Lana comes down to ringside to watch this match.

Naomi unloads on Tamina. The champ gets so aggressive that the referee needs to get between both women. Tamina capitalizes and knocks Naomi on her booty. Snuka is throwing around the women’s champion like a ragdoll.

Tamina traps the champion in the headlock, but Naomi fights up and out. The champ hits Snuka with some kicks, but the larger opponent quickly puts down the glowing champion with a hard strike to the chest.

Naomi is sitting in the corner and Tamina charges and hits the champion in the corner. Naomi tries to rally back, but eats a sick clotheslines. Tamina goes for the cover. 1….2…kick out!

Tamina puts Naomi back in that headlock. The champ tries to rally back, but gets slammed back down to the mat. Tamina ascends the top rope, but gets caught by Naomi who knocks her down to the ring.

Jinder Mahal faces off against The Viper

WWE World Champion Jinder Mahal comes down to the ring with the Singh Brothers. Mahal says that Orton is like a garden-snake hiding in the grass. On Sunday, he will fall to the modern day Maharaja.

Orton music hits and the Singh Brothers rush to the entrance ramp. Jinder locks towards the titan-tron with a nervous look. Randy Orton comes behind and hits an RKO outta nowhere!

Charlotte Flair vs. Natalya

Charlotte controls the early part of the match-up. But Nattie takes control when we go to commercial break. Natalya is literally stepping all over The Queen. Meanwhile, Becky Lynch watches on from backstage.

When we come back from the break, Nattie has Charlotte trapped in a surfboard submission. Flair turns the tide and goes on the attack. The Queen executes a flawless moonsault from the top rope. Charlotte goes for the pin-fall. 1…2…kick out!

Charlotte charges and takes out Nattie with a big boot. Meanwhile, Carmella and James Ellsworth look on from a TV screen backstage. Charlotte ascends the top rope, but the “Black Heart” Natalya sends Charlotte crashing to the ring with a sitdown powerbomb. Nattie goes for the cover. 1…2…kick out!

Nattie traps The Queens in the sharpshooter submission. Charlotte sends Nattie back to the mat with a big boot. The Queen looks up at the briefcase, and Nattie rolls up Queen for a 2 count.

Kevin Owens, Baron Corbin & Dolph Ziggler vs. Shinsuke Nakamura, Sami Zayn & AJ Styles

We return from commercial and the match is underway. Ziggler and Nakamura are mixing it up. The artist known as Shinsuke Nakamura takes control, leveling Ziggler and dropping a hard knee onto “The Showoff.” Nakamura is feeding off of the energy of the crowd. But Ziggler strikes back with a dropkick.

Owens get the tag and attacks Nakamura. Next comes Baron Corbin who continues the assault on “The King of Strong Style.” Corbin stomps a mudhole in Shinsuke and walked it dry. Corbin then has some unkind words for Sami Zayn and the referee.

Dolph Ziggler return to the ring and traps Shinsuke in a headlock. AJ Styles get the tag and comes in like a bolt of lightning. Styles assaults Ziggler, then knocks Corbin off the apron. AJ continues his onslaught on Dolph, sending him to the mat with a gut-buster. AJ knocks Owens off the apron and then takes Ziggler down again with a fireman’s carry neckbreaker.

After Styles fails to put away Ziggler, Owens and Zayn go at it. Sami knocks KO out of the ring and flies on his foe with a suicide dive between the middle ropes. The crowd chants, “ole!” But his momentum is crashed by Corbin, who sends Sami to the mat with a Deep Six. Corbin goes for the cover, but Nakamura makes the save.

We’re back from the commercial break, KO is putting the boots to Sami Zayn and talking that good sh*t to AJ Styles. Owens attempts a senton, but Sami puts his knees up and counters. But KO quickly regroups and drops Zayn with a DDT. Owens goes for the cover. 1….2….kick out!

Corbin gets back in the match with a tag and stomps away on the fallen Zayn. Corbin squashes Sami in the corner and beats him down, while the referee tries to intervene by giving the Lone Wolf a warning. Corbin yells the ref and continues the assault.

Owens gets tagged back in and Corbin holds down Sami. KO hits Zayn with a series of strikes. But the “Underdog of the Underground” comes back with a Blue Thunderbomb outta nowhere.

Baron Corbin gets tagged back into the action and prevents the desperate Zayn for making a tag. Corbin whips Sami into the corner. Zayn knocks Ziggler off the apron, but Corbin comes back with a big splash in the corner. Sami pulls a clotheslines out of his bag of tricks and sends Corbin to the mat.

Sami knocks the Corbin over the top rope and desperately tries to back a tag. Both Owens and Ziggler prevent that tag from taking place, by knocking Styles and Nakamura off the apron. Shinsuke is laid out, while AJ is beating the crap outta Owens. Corbin is preoccupied with a hostile AJ Styles. Sami capitalizes with a helluva kick for the win!

Post-Match Mayhem: Right after the match, Ziggler takes down both Styles and Zayn. Owens brings a ladder in the ring, and the crowd approves by chanting “YES!” Ziggler and KO charge towards Sami with the ladder, as they level the Underdog of the Underground. They take out Styles next. Ziggler and Owens look up at the briefcase long enough for Baron Corbin to come out of nowhere, taking down both men with a ladder. Corbin beats the crap out of both men with that metal object. Baron ascends the ladder, but Shinsuke Nakamura knocks over the ladder and sends Corbin crashing to the mat. Nakamura takes out Baron with a Kinshasa.

Shinsuke Nakamura ascends the ladder as the crowd cheers him on. He grabs hold and unhooks the Money In The Bank briefcase. Could this be a sign for things to come on Sunday?

The 18-year-old Kylie Pifer was less than a week from her 19th birthday on June 16th. She was a graduate of North Royalton High School. Kylie was suppose to enter her sophomore year at Bowling Green State University this fall.

Jay Patton, a college friend, took to Facebook to commemorate Kylie. “Rest In Peace Kylie Pifer…you were one of the very first friends I made at BG & I will never forget you & the kindness you showed me I haven’t been able to stop crying since I heard the news…it still feels so unreal.”

During her time at Bowling Green, Kylie studied biology and was involved with the school’s theater program.

“It’s just not right and those kids were just starting out their life…they didn’t deserve it, none of them did,” family friend Rhonda Whitelock told WJW-TV.

In a Facebook photo from of Kylie graduating from high school in June 2016, we can read a touching comment written by her mother Suzanne Taylor. “I can’t believe both of my girls are so grown up. Freshman and junior in college in the fall. I am so proud. Great kids I have.”

Suzanne Taylor was found stabbed to death in her Brunswick, Ohio home, along with her daughters Taylor and Kylie Pifer. On Sunday, authorities discovered the sad scene and have named a suspect in the triple homicide. The suspect is George Brinkman, who has been arrested by authorities after a nine-hour police standoff on Monday night leading into Tuesday morning.

The 45-year-old Suzanne Taylor graduated from Valley Forge High School in 1990. She later attended Hiram College, and graduated with degrees in sociology, political science and psychology.

In 2013, Taylor began her job as a real estate appraiser for Forsythe Appraisals. The former mother of two has also been an administrator at REO Property Consultants since 2012.

Longtime friend Rhonda Whitelock is hurt by the sudden loss of Suzanne and her two young daughters.

“Forty years of friendship is hard, it’s hard to let go, it’s hard to wrap my head around all of this, that she’s gone and her children are gone,” Rhonda told WJW-TV. “I want to be able to remember her life and be able to talk and share some memories that are good, and I want people to know what a great person she was and how fun she was, always laughing, always positive.”

Brianna Wadsworth, a childhood friend of Taylor’s daughter, went on Facebook and wrote about how much Suzanne meant to her.

“Suzanne is over all an amazing lady and I’m glad I got to have her in my life growing. I love you guys with all my heart but know you’ll be missed dearly.”

Longtime girlfriend of Keith Richards, Anita Pallenberg passed away Tuesday evening at the age of 73. She appeared in films such as Nicolas Roeg’s Performance, Candy, and Barbella. Richards and Pallenberg were together for more than a decade (1967 to 1979) and had three children. In Richard’s autobiography, Life, we writes, “I like a high-spirited woman. And with Anita, you knew you were taking on a Valkyrie—she who decides who dies in battle.”

In 1965, Pallenberg met Rolling Stones guitarist Brian Jones. She left Jones for Keith Richards in 1967 after he became violent and unstable. Jones later died in 1969.

Keith and Anita had three children: Marlon, Angela, and Tara. Only two children have survived, as Tara died during infancy.

The Italian/German model was a big fashion icon of the 1960s. When she got older, she took classes in textiles. Anita also designed clothes, gardened, and painted.

In 1977, both Richards and Pallenberg were arrested for heroin in Toronto. But the couple went to rehab rather than receiving a prison sentence.

No cause of death has been released.

She is survived by her two children and several grandchildren.

On June 14 the Official Spirit of America is recognized.  It is National Bourbon Day. Huzzah!

This day is of particular interest to me because I am and always will be a Bourbon/Whiskey man. Clear liquid is a disgusting vomit-inducing poison and beer just doesn’t get the job done when you’re trying to go in.

Like Scotch, Cognac and some other spirits that must meet certain standards as well as be produced in a particular geographical region, Bourbon is a whiskey which is only so named if distilled in the United States.  Boo-yah, Ireland. To legally be a considered Bourbon, it must be 51 percent corn, stored in new (not aged) charred-oak barrels and distilled no more than 160 proof and barreled at 125 proof.

This particular whiskey derives its name from the Kentucky county which was established in 1785 and was a large producer of corn. The corn, once distilled, would be put in barrels and stamped “Old Bourbon” and shipped down the Ohio River.

In 1964, a Congressional Resolution designated Bourbon as America’s native spirit. Since then, there is nowhere else in the world that can make a whiskey and call it Bourbon. Basically, #Murica.

How to Celebrate

When we as Americans bask in the glory of our heritage, we tend to do so on a sizzling summer day with a cold beer along with a nearly endless supply of hotdogs and hamburgers on the grill. Of course, this ideal scenario usually takes place on July 4, and not on June 14, which is designated as Flag Day.

While Flag Day has all of the necessary red, white and blue flair and is the epitome of American pride, it lacks the fantastical substance that makes our Independence Day a moment for careless jubilation, coupled with alcohol and fireworks.

However, this is not to diminish the historical significance of Flag Day and its importance to everyone who lives in this fine nation. On June 14, 1777, our country adopted the flag of the United States, by resolution of the Second Continental Congress. In 1916, Woodrow Wilson issued a proclamation that officially established June 14 as Flag Day. While not a official federal holiday, Flag Day is still essential to our country’s short but monumental history as it is representative of our tangible pride as proud Americans.

But enough of the history lessons and patriotic rhetoric, let’s get to what makes this day truly worth getting amped up for: the abundance of hilarious memes.

ROLLING STONE

Landmark magazine Rolling Stone has agreed to pay Phi Kappa Psi $1.65 million to settle a defamation lawsuit stemming from a story about a gang rape at the University of Virginia chapter that was later discredited.

The University of Virginia chapter of the Phi Kappa Psi fraternity, which announced the settlement on Tuesday, June 13, was originally seeking $25 million in damages from Rolling Stone over the debunked story.

The story in question, a discredited 2014 story called ‘A Rape On Campus’, was proved to be false after a police investigation found no evidence to back up the magazine’s account of the woman identified in the story only as ‘Jackie.’

Phi Kappa Psi said in a statement that its members were happy to put the incident behind them.

The fraternity’s case had been scheduled to go to trial in October. The fraternity said it plans to donate “a significant portion” of the settlement to groups that provide sexual assault awareness education, prevention training and victim counseling services.

The fraternity claimed that the magazine knew that Jackie was not a reliable source and ignored red flags indicating that her story was flawed. The reporter did not verify the existence of the alleged ringleader of Jackie’s attack or contact others who could have debunked the story.

“Rolling Stone and Erdely had an agenda, and they were recklessly oblivious to the harm they would cause innocent victims in their ruthless pursuit of that agenda,” the fraternity’s lawsuit said.

Earlier this year, Rolling Stone settled another defamation lawsuit filed by university administrator Nicole Eramo after a jury awarded her $3 million.

Despite the fact that the Golden State Warriors visited the White House after their 2015 NBA championship, it appears as though they will be skipping the trip following their 2017 victory.

According to CSN, the Steve Kerr coached Warriors decided immediately after Trump’s election on November 9 that it would skip its White House visit if they won the Larry O’Brien trophy.

The Warriors defeated the Cleveland Cavaliers in Oakland in Game 5 on Monday to win the franchise’s second NBA championship in three years.

Kerr  said last November that if the Warriors were to win the NBA Finals, he would not accept an invitation to visit the White House. Those were Kerr’s feelings then, but he felt it would be presumptuous to express them publicly during the middle of a season. Now that the Warriors have the championship, taking out the Cavaliers in five games, don’t expect that to change.

The Warriors are prepared to make a political statement, multiple sources confirmed Tuesday afternoon. A report early Tuesday morning indicated the team had voted unanimously to boycott any invitation that might come from the White House.

Though the Warriors quickly issued a statement later Tuesday morning indicating no final decision has been made, not a man in the locker room or in the coach’s office would be comfortable visiting a president who has sowed such division while renouncing civility and from the country’s highest office.

While the franchise and the league may want the Warriors players to attend the visit, it does not seem as though the players themselves are willing to go.

House Minority Leader Nancy Pelosi, who is Democrat from California, said she the Warriors are welcome to make a visit to Capitol Hill to celebrate their championship. Pelosi represents California’s 12th District, which is within the city limits of San Francisco.

This is not the first time attendance at a Trump held ceremony has been an issue, as multiple New England Patriots declined their invitation to visit the White House.

A fire that ripped through a 27-story London building due to a fridge explosion has left at least 6 dead. There are 74 more in the hospital, with 20 of those people being in critical condition.

The fire, which could be one of the worst fires in British history, tore through the Grenfell Tower in White City in 15 minutes. Police fear that nobody on the top three floors survived, and six people are known to have died.

Scotland Yard says the death toll is expected to rise significantly. Commander Stuart Cundy, of the Metropolitan Police said the recovery operation would be “complex and lengthy”.

Originally built in 1974, the residential tower block had recently undergone a massive refurbishment carried out by private developers.

Five people, including the House Majority Whip Steve Scalise, were shot at a GOP Congressional baseball practice on the morning of Wednesday, June 14 by a gunman who hid behind the dugout.

Scalise was shot in the hip. The gunman reportedly fired 50 to 100 shots before he was shot by a security guard.

The shooting took place at around 6:30 AM at a practice field in Alexandria, Virginia, where the politicians were practicing for a charity match which was supposed to take place on Thursday at Nationals Park.

Sen. Rand Paul (R-Ky.) told MSNBC’s “Morning Joe” that he heard as many as 50 shots. Paul described seeing shots land near aides who had taken cover on the ground.

One staffer, he said, scrambled over a fence to get away from the fire. Paul credited Capitol Police, who were there to protect Scalise, with saving lives.

Two Capitol Police officers on protective detail were also reportedly shot in the incident. The “multiple shooting” was reported in the 400 block of E. Monroe Street in Alexandria, Va., according to police.

The suspect is “believed in custody,” police said. Alexandria Police have advised people to stay away from the area.

Republican Rep. Mo Brooks caught a brief glimpse of the shooter and described him as a white, skinny, middle-aged male. Florida Rep. Ron DeSantis said the shooter asked if they were Republican or Democrat before opening fire.
