McDonald’s, The Devil’s Kitchen, Is Unleashing A New Demon Upon The World

0
0

At this point, I’m starting to wonder if McDonald’s pays a room full of people just to sit around and come up with Frankenstein concoctions for their failing business.

McDonald’s essentially given up on selling food, and they now almost exclusively pedal gimmicks instead.

$1 sodas! Buy one happy meal, get a second free! A hamburger with chicken patty as the buns! A McChicken with Big Mac sauce on it.

Except, that last one isn’t just me hating on McDonalds, as that is their latest Frankenstein concoction. As usual, they are rolling it out in foreign countries before they unleash it on the American masses.

via Mashable:

Predictably it’s called the Chicken Big Mac, and features all the other ingredients you’d get on the burger — lettuce, cheese, special sauce, on a sesame seed bun — but with McChicken patties instead.

Of course the Chicken Big Mac isn’t a purely an Australian thing. The Chicken Big Mac is sold in Qatar, Egypt, the UAE and the Netherlands — but for the rest of the world you’ll have to spend a little more time explaining your order.

Also launching in Australia are these Cheeseburger Shaker Fries, which is a seasoning that combines the taste of “beef, onions, pickle, ketchup, mustard and cheese” — you know, like a cheeseburger.

So for those of you out there who have always wish they made a Big Mac, except with chicken, your dreams have come true. But that said, if you are dreaming about Big Macs, you should probably just off yourself.

Florida Woman Arrested For Murdering Gay Man Who She Claimed ‘Masturbated’ At Her

Jadian Sinead Zeiders, a 26-year-old Florida woman, has been charged with murder as police say she helped to beat a man to death after claiming he masturbated at her.

Zeiders, 26, is facing a charge of second-degree murder over the death of 53-year-old social worker William Denham Jr.

Back in January, Zeiders allegedly told police that Denham, who was openly gay, broke into her Tampa back yard on January 14 and masturbated at her through the window. Officers say Zeiders claimed she hid in her laundry room until two men living at the same address arrived home. Zeiders then pointed Denham out to the two men, who followed him down the street.

According to the police report, an argument followed and Zeiders said Denham eventually lashed out, causing the men to attack in self-defense. However, multiple witnesses at the scene told officers they saw a woman and two men attack Denham as he was walking along the street.

via Tampa Bay Times:

The police report shows investigators turned their attention to Zeiders on Jan. 17, three days after police found Denham lying unconscious around 10 p.m. on a sidewalk near the corner of North 15th and East Elm streets.

Denham, who lived on East Crenshaw Street, died at St. Joseph’s Hospital. An autopsy found he died of blunt trauma to the face and body.

A witness at the scene told investigators he saw two men and a woman beating Denham in the street and kicking him after he fell down. The witness told investigators that one of the men said something about the man being a “pedophile.”

Three days later, police received an anonymous tip that Zeiders and two men beat Denham to death. The Times is not naming the men because they have not been formally linked to the case. Tampa police spokesman Steve Hegarty said only that detectives have identified two suspects in addition to Zeiders.

Maureen Tourigian, one of Denham’ sisters, said of Willian: “He never would have attacked anyone. Anyone who knows him knows that, and that he never would expose himself to a woman. He wasn’t interested.”

Zeiders has previously been charged with heroin possession and failure to appear in court on a driving infraction charge. Furthermore, police say they have identified two suspects in addition to Zeiders, but are still ‘sifting through conflicting information’.

A noose was found at the National Museum of African American History and Culture in Washington D.C. Wednesday afternoon, according to the Smithsonian.

What Happened?

The noose was found at an exhibition on segregation between 1786 and 1968. Park Police quickly removed it.

An investigation into the incident forced the exhibit to close for three hours. This marks the second time this week that a noose was found in the area. Last Friday, a noose was hung on a tree near the Hirshorn Museum after its closing.

Director of the museum Lonnie Bunch called the incident “painful” in an email to staff members.

“The noose has long represented a deplorable act of cowardice and depravity—a symbol of extreme violence for African Americans. Today’s incident is a painful reminder of the challenges that African Americans continue to face.”

David Skorton, the secretary of the Smithsonian Institution, also spoke out against the acts via email.

“The Smithsonian family stands together in condemning this act of hatred and intolerance, especially repugnant in a museum that affirms and celebrates the American values of inclusion and diversity.” Skorton said. “We will not be intimated. Cowardly acts like these will not, for one moment, prevent us from the vital work we do. We will remain vigilant and, in spite of these deplorable acts, we will become a stronger institution for all Americans.”

An investigation into the incidents is on ongoing.

National Museum of African American History and Culture

The museum officially opened on September 24, 2016 in a ceremony led by President Barack Obama and houses an approximate collection size of 33,000.

Raymond Pfeifer Cause of Death: How Did 9/11 Firefighter Die?

Raymond J. Pfeifer, who spent eight months working through the debris of the collapsed World Trade Center for the remains of victims and years fighting for health benefits for survivors, died on Sunday in a hospice in Port Washington, New York. He was 59.

Raymond Pfeifer Cause of Death

Pfeifer died as the result from complications of cancers he contracted while scouring the toxic Lower Manhattan site following 9/11, his wife Caryn said.

“I’m being poisoned, and I’m dying, every single day, because of terrorism,” Mr. Pfeifer told WPIX-TV in 2014.

But unlike the 343 firefighters who died on September 11, 2001, “I’m a very lucky man,” he said.

“My friends were murdered on 9/11,” he added. “From the 12th on, from that day on, I’m still here. I’m very lucky. I got to watch my kids grow up.”

In 2009, Pfeifer discovered a strange pain in his left leg was a baseball-sized tumor that had broken his hip and developed into Stage 4 kidney cancer. He underwent surgery 48 hours later. A tragic deluge of medical issues followed, including hip, femur and knee replacements and the removal of a kidney. He also had a heart attack after being weakened by chemotherapy.

Though his health was worsening, Pfeifer continued to fight for health care benefits to be extended for emergency workers and survivors of the 9/11 attacks.

The James Zadroga 9/11 Health and Compensation Act – named for a New York City detective whose death from respiratory causes at 34 was linked by supporters of the bill to the World Trade Center attacks – would have expired in 2015 if not for the work of a coalition that included Pfeifer and comedian Jon Stewart, among others.

“I was just the poster boy,” Mr. Pfeifer said of his role in the lobbying effort.

Fire Commissioner Daniel A. Nigro paid his respects, saying: “Ray Pfeifer was a true fighter who bravely battled fires as a New York City firefighter and fought tirelessly for all first responders who — like him — suffered from World Trade Center-related illness.”

Mayor Bill de Blasi, who presented Pfeifer with a key to the city in 2016, also credited the firefighter for inspiring other survivors to “get to wake up in the morning and not have that horrible, pervasive worry about their future.”

“They don’t have to wonder what’s going to happen next to them and their families because they did the right thing when it was their moment to stand up,” the mayor said.

The Dashcam Footage Of Tiger Woods’ DUI Arrest Has Been Released

The Jupiter Police Department has released the video of Tiger Woods after they found him asleep in his Mercedes Benz with the engine running in the early hours of Monday morning.

In the video, Woods is seen swaying, rolling his eyes, as well as falling asleep while Jupiter police attempt to administer field sobriety tests. Woods was eventually arrested for DUI and taken into police custody.

During the course of the field sobriety tests, Woods was slurring his words as he tried to answer questions from police, could barely stand up, and could not walk in straight line.

According to the Probable Cause Affidavit, the 41-year-old Woods had to be woken up by an officer. His car was running at the time and Woods’ right blinker was flashing.

After Woods was awoken by police, he failed four field sobriety tests. After failing those four tests, Woods submitted to a breathalyzer and blew a .000 two times, however, Woods was on four prescription drugs: Soloxer, Vicodin, Torix, and Viox.

Furthermore, police also released photos of Woods’$220,000 Mercedes-Benz. The vehicle had two flat tires and damage on the driver’s side. Both tire rims on the driver’s side of the car had visible damage, while the front and rear tires on that side were flat.

There was also minor damage to the bumper on the driver’s side, scuffs and scratches on the rear bumper, as well as the passenger side rear tail light was not working.

Teen Prostitute Jasmine Abuslin Awarded Nearly $1 Million By The City Of Oakland

A 19-year-old prostitute was awarded nearly $1 million by the city of Oakland after being involved in a massive sex scandal with the Oakland police department.

Jasmine Abuslin is the daughter of a police dispatcher who claims she slept with close to two dozen officers over several years, dating back to when she was just 17 years old.

Abuslin used the name Celeste Guap and claims that some of the officers paid her after their sexual encounters. The scandal was brought to light last year when she began sharing her allegations with others. According to reports, the unearthing of the scandal has been tied to the suicide of one police officer and prompted the firing of several other law enforcement officers.

On Wednesday, May 31, Abuslin was awarded $989,000 by the Oakland courts. Abuslin had originally asked to be rewarded $66 million.

Via ABC News:

The Oakland City Council has approved a nearly $1 million settlement after a police sex scandal involving several of their former officers and a young woman who identified herself as an underage prostitute. The settlement reached is much lower than what Jasmine or her original attorney asked for, but she says she’s satisfied with it nonetheless.

Now 19, Jasmine was just 17 when she began having sex, she claims, with more than a dozen police officers, including from Oakland, Richmond, Livermore and Alameda and Contra Costa County sheriffs. In a late night session, the Oakland City Council approved a $989,000 settlement with Jasmine. About a third of that will go to attorney fees.

Five of the Oakland officers allegedly involved with Jasmine are facing criminal charges. The original claim against the city of Oakland, filed by a prior attorney, was $66 million.

According to ABC, Jasmine has had great support from her family and plans to return to school in the hopes of pursuing a career working with animals.

Two Marshall University Students Arrested After Having Marijuana Sent To Home

Two Marshall University students are facing drug charges after four pounds of marijuana were shipped to their home, the former Pi Kappa Phi fraternity house, on Wednesday, May 31.

Andrew Gifford, 23, and Eric Nguyen, 19, were arrested shortly after the package was delivered to the fraternity house on the 1400 block of 5th Avenue in Huntington, West Virginia.

According to criminal complaints from the Cabell County Magistrate Court, Gifford, who signed for the package using the false identity ‘Taylor Smidt,’ is accused of then taking the package to an upstairs bedroom before police executed a search warrant on the house.

Via Herald-Dispatch:

Police found high-grade marijuana, digital scales and several thousand dollars among Nguyen’s bedroom, the room in which Gifford was found, and among Gifford’s personal items. The search led police to then raid Gifford’s apartment in the 1300 block of 5th Avenue, finding more than 12 grams of marijuana in baggies and glass jars.

Police concluded Nguyen and Gifford had been stashing and selling marijuana from both locations, complaints state.

Both claimed to be Marshall University students when arraigned before Cabell County Magistrate Judge Dan Goheen, though the university has not confirmed. If so, the two may face university sanctions in addition to criminal charges, according to a university release.

Nguyen faces charges of possession of a controlled substance with the intent to distribute, while Gifford is charged with possession of a controlled substance with the intent to distribute and conspiracy.

Both are being held at Western Regional Jail, with Nguyen’s bond being set at $100,000 and Gifford’s bond at $125,000.

Pi Kappa Phi is no longer recognized by the university. Fraternity members voted this past April to surrender its charter to the national body. The house, which is not owned by Marshall University,  will be shut down because of numerous safety issues and code violations.

Texans Wide Receiver Keith Mumphery Banned From Michigan State Campus

Texans wide receiver Keith Mumphery has been suspended from Michigan State University’s campus. MSU is the school from which Mumphery graduated.

According to the Detroit Free Press, Mumphery, 24, was expelled from a graduate program and has been banned from Michigan State’s campus and facilities for violating the university’s relationship violence and sexual misconduct policy.

The ban comes after the university’s Division of Student Affairs and Services banned Mumphery in June of 2016 following a rape investigation in which woman claimed Mumphery assaulted her in her dorm room in March of 2015.

According to police, Mumphery said the sexual contact was consensual, however, he was still was expelled from the school and is not allowed on campus until 2019.

Via Detroit Free Press:

The March 2015 incident involving the current Houston Texans wide receiver is the third case of alleged sexual misconduct among current and former MSU football players in the past three years. Only one of them — an April incident involving Auston Robertson — has led to charges, while another case remains ongoing.

Mumphery was accused of sexually assaulting a student in her MSU dorm room on March 17, 2015. The woman reported it to MSU Police that night shortly after the incident. According to the campus police report, the two met a few months before the incident on an online dating site, agreeing to meet at her dorm room weeks later. The report details conflicting accounts of who was the aggressor and whether elements of their sexual behavior were consensual.

MSU Police forwarded the case to the Ingham County Prosecutor’s Office and requested third-degree criminal sexual conduct charges in late March that year. On Aug. 24, 2015, the Ingham County Prosecutor’s Office under then-prosecutor Stuart Dunnings III — in a decision by assistant prosecutor Steve Kwasnik, according to the police report — declined to press charges because the case could not be proven beyond a reasonable doubt and the accuser did not return contact

Mumphery, who was drafted by the Texans in the fifth round (175th overall) in the 2015 NFL Draft, has caught 24 passes for 198 yards. He has also served as a return man in his two seasons with the team.

A spokesman for the Texans said they were currently “gathering information,” while Mumphery’s agent declined to comment.

41-Year-Old Teacher Avoids Jail Time After Having Sex With 17-Year-Old Student

Summer Sparrow, a 41-year-old teacher who had sex with a 17-year-old student, will not go to prison and may never be formally convicted of sex offenses.

Sparrow agreed to give up her teaching license as part of a plea agreement with Cherryville, North Carolina prosecutors.

Sparrow, a mother-of-two, had sex with the 17-year-old boy in October of 2016 after picking him up from a car wash and taking him to her home.

The unidentified boy photographed Sparrow naked and then shared the images with his friends. This is what led to the boy’s parents discovering their relationship and alerting the police.

Via Shelby Star:

Sparrow gave up her teaching license and will not be allowed to set foot on any Gaston County Schools property or attend any function where students are gathered for one year per a deferred prosecution arrangement.

A deferred prosecution arrangement is a deal that can be worked out between the district attorney and a defendant in which the defendant will not see jail time so long as they follow the agreement. A deferred prosecution arrangement is an admission of wrongdoing.

If Sparrow follows the arrangement for the full year without issue, her charges will be dismissed and she will be able to petition the court for them to be expunged. If she does not follow the arrangement, she would enter her active sentence and spend between 16 and 29 months in jail.

According to court records, she and the boy had been using Snapchat to communicate.

Sparrow was fired last year after authorities learned of the inappropriate relationship. She declined to comment about the court proceedings when approached by local reporters. She now goes by the name Summer Dellinger and has since attempted to launch a freelance writing career.

If You’re Going To Steal 30K Of Something, Might As Well Steal 30,000 … Condoms?

0
0

This may be a little strange, but I’ve always secretly wondered to myself that if I were a criminal, what would be my speciality?

Banks are too cliche, and I don’t know enough good looking dudes to rob a Las Vegas casino.

I’d probably rob armored cars, and I’d use a bike. Think of The Town, only in New York City and on two wheels. I would explain further, but I don’t want to detail too much of my plan, just in case the feds are watching (which they are — stay woke).

Anyway, I take you to Las Vegas, because of course, where two Llyod and Harry-seeming dudes decided to steal a bunch of condoms. I mean, I’ve stolen condoms from roommates and whatnot, but I never ever considered going the Costco option and buying them in bulk. I do well for myself, but these guys must be F*CKING for real. Good on them.

via CNN:

The Sin City warehouse of a Swedish sex toy company was hit by thieves over the Memorial Day weekend — not once, but twice. In the first theft on Friday night, the bandits broke in and stole boxes containing 30,000 condoms.
But somehow, even in Vegas, that wasn’t enough. On Saturday morning, thieves returned and rammed a vehicle through a delivery door. This time they grabbed boxes containing $15,000 worth of sex toys.
In a good-natured blog post about the thefts on its website, sex toy company Lelo had only one question after the break-ins: “What kind of party are these people having? We could have done the sponsorship or something.” In its post Lelo also called the thieves “the horniest criminals in world history.”
Lelo representative Davor Solvo had a sense of humor about the thefts, saying that whoever took the condoms and sex toys probably didn’t grab them “for testing purposes.”
The robbery is currently being investigated by the Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department.

Harvard To Begin Offering ‘Game Of Thrones’ Class, And Hey, Maybe Now It’ll Finally Be A Legit School

0
0

First, I just want to note that I used this image of Ned Stark for the sole purpose of causing all Game Of Thrones fans to spend a moment thinking about Eddard about what a god damn saint he was. Here we are over six years later and I still clench my fists when I think of medieval prepubescent Donald Trump King Joffery body bagging our boy. Little turd.

Anywho, colleges are offering classes for essentially anything these days. When I was at Rutgers, a couple of chicks I knew took a Beyonce class. My buddy at Monmouth College took a South Park class. In fact, I just wrote about a Game Of Thrones class being offered UC Berkeley about a month ago.

According to Time, Harvard will begin offering a Folklore and Mythology class that will look at the way the George R.R. Martin’s series and HBO TV show based on those books “echoes and adapts, as well as distorts the history and culture of the ‘medieval world’ of Eurasia from c. 400 to 1500 CE” by exploring ” a set of archetypal characters at the heart of Game of Thrones the king, the good wife, the second son, the adventurer, and so on — with distinct analogues in medieval history, literature, religion, and legend.”

The class will be taught by Sean Gilsdorf, a medieval historian and Administrative Director and Lecturer on Medieval Studies. Gilsdorf will be co-teaching the class with Racha Kirakosian, an assistant professor of German and the Study of Religion.

via Time:

Gilsdorf says that medieval biographies of queens will be prime source material. “Game of Thrones does dramatize nicely some fundamental things going on in medieval courts. Tensions between a queen and the younger women who marry their sons are some ‘Real Housewives of 10th-century Germany’ kind of stuff, where you see these women going after each other,” says Gilsdorf.

Kirakosian, meanwhile, points out that the character of the “vindictive queen” is something shared by both Cersei Lannister and Kriemhild, the main royal character in the medieval German epic Nibelungenlied, which gives students an idea of family rivalries in the Middle Ages. A few other themes are shared by the show and the epic, she says: both stories involve female rulers whose husbands were killed in a hunt and competition with foreign queens at court, for example.

So for all you young bloods out there, if you’re trying to decide between schools, give Harvard a look. Now that they’re offering a Thrones class, I’m starting to think it may be a pretty good school afterall.

WATCH: Two Bounty Hunters & Suspect Killed In Gunfight In Crowded Texas Car Dealership

0
0

Footage has surfaced featuring the deadly shootout between two bounty hunters and a Minnesota fugitive they were pursuing. Bounty hunters Fidel Garcia Jr. and Gabriel Bernal were both left dead, along with fugitive Ramon Hutchinson, following a firefight at a car dealership in Greenville, Texas on Tuesday.

What Happened?

A bystander recorded the video showing Garcia and Bernal holding up their guns as they corner Hutchinson in a glassed in office on the showroom floor. As the bounty hunters close in on Hutchinson, the men begin yelling at each other while a woman who was in the office shouts “No!.”

What follows is a rapid exchange of gunfire as the bystander recording the incident drops to the floors and flees the scene.

Hutchinson was wanted on felony charges of disarming a police officer, fourth-degree assault of an officer and felony first-degree narcotics possession, according to private Minnesota-based company US Fugitive Recovery and Extradition.

Hutchinson was wanted since he failed to show for a March court date in Minneapolis, forfeiting a $50,000 bond. Normally, bounty hunters take around a 10% fee of total bail bond for successful recovery of a fugitive.

Garcia and Bernal were licensed private investigators in Corpus Christi who were hired to recover the fugitive following a tip that he was in Texas.

CBS DFW reports that the bounty hunters put a tracking device on a car they believed to be Hutchinson’s who was thought to be staying with his girlfriend. But when the pair learned Hutchinson was planning to trade in his vehicle at a Nissan dealership in Greenville, they chose to act.

According to dealership owner Rick Ford, the two men came in and announced that they were federal agents. Though bounty hunters have broad powers of arrest and search under the law on behalf of bail-bondsmen, they are not government agents.

“We were told they were federal agents so we didn’t ask them to leave,” Ford said. “They were dressed casual. We thought they were plainclothes officers.”

After three to four hours, Hutchinson and his girlfriend arrived at the dealership where the bounty hunters produced handcuffs. At this point, the fugitive drew a gun and a firefight broke out.

No one else was injured.

ESPN In Pure Disarray, Reporter Walks Off Camera During The Middle Of An Interview

Over the last month or so, ESPN has been laying off employees in droves.

Chad Ford, Andy Katz, Jay Crawford, Ed Werder, Jayson Stark, and Trent Dilfer are just some of the dozens and dozens have prominent ESPN names who have been kicked to the curb.

Layoffs continued this week, as longtime reporter and hair-band hero John Clayton was laid off. So, yeah, it’s safe to say that ESPN is going through some tumultuous times. And layoffs aren’t the only thing affecting ESPN this week.

First, there was this legitimately painful-to-watch Adam Schefter clip.

I mean, I’ve never even been remotely close to anything resembling being suicidal, but hearing Adam f*cking Schefter grunt ‘curls for the girls’ helped me understand why some people think death is a better option. Good lord.

And then today, during an interview with Hannah Storm, ESPN’s Dallas Cowboys beat reporter Todd Archer just decided to, well, dip.

Yuma County Sheriff’s Office

Christopherson Maynes, a 20-year-old Arizona man, has been arrested for allegedly having sex with a female horse. He was reportedly caught engaging in sexual intercourse with the mare on a property in Dateland on Monday afternoon.

What Happened?

Maynes was arrested by police after he was reportedly found having sex wth a female horse. Police even secured video evidence of the alleged sexual act.

He was booked in the Yuma County Detention Center for bestiality, indecent exposure and animal cruelty.

“Deputies were able to recover video evidence of the suspect,” Alfonso Zavala of the Yuma County Sheriff’s Office said.

Deputies initially responded to a call of animal cruelty. The individual who reported the incident said he caught Maynes having sex with the animal.

The full police statement read: “On Monday, May 29, 2017 at approximately 4:50 p.m., the Yuma County Sheriff’s Office responded to the 1400 block of North Catalina Road in Dateland, AZ in reference to an animal cruelty case. Upon arrival, Deputies met with the reporting party who stated that the suspect had been caught having sexual intercourse with a mare on the property. Christopherson Maynes, 20, of Dateland, was arrested and booked into the Yuma County Detention Center for bestiality, indecent exposure and animal cruelty.”

This is not the first reported incident of sexual activity between a human and horse. Earlier this year an individual from Wakefield in the U.K. was jailed for having sex with a horse after his DNA was recovered from the animal.

Jen Selter Photos: Hottest Pictures Of Supermodel

Superstar model Jen Selter shared a motivational and positive message to her millions of fans Wednesday night on Instagram. Her message is an inspiring one and she delivered it while not wearing a single piece of clothing.

Instagram Photo

“Everyone has days when they feel down about themselves. Everyone has something they wish was different about themselves. But instead of focusing on the negative, think about all the good things you have in your life. You have health. You have happiness. You have people who love and care about you. One little thing and one bad day will never be enough to change all of those things,” Selter wrote on the photo of herself sitting completely naked in a tub.

Gotta give credit to Selter for combining her natural physical appeal with a really comforting message. Sometimes our perspectives are skewed when it comes to “beautiful people.” We think their lives can’t possibly be difficult or lonely or anything bad. But it’s good to remember that we’re all people with our own set of issues and insecurities.

It’s all love.

Although she might not have caught the public’s eye as much as pop megastars Katy Perry, Taylor Swift or Ariana Grande, Carly Rae Jepsen has still managed to dig herself a niche in the soul capturing pop industry. You might recognize Jepsen most from her sonically induced ear worm “Call Me Maybe.”

But how much has the Canadian singer allocated throughout her up and down career?

Carly Rae Jepsen’s Net Worth as of 2017: $10 Million

This is jaw dropping considering most people are so quick to call her a one hit wonder, there has to be more to this that someone’s not telling us.

Jepsen made her first media appearance on Canadian Idol where she finished third overall, which might as well be equivalent to finishing 15th in American Idol. Despite not winning she managed to become the most recognizable face from the show, so you keep your record deal Brian Melo.

Her demo caught the attention of the very Canadian label, Maple Music Recordings who went on to release her debut album Tug of War.

This was the year of Carly Rae Jepsen with “Call Me Maybe” dominating your radio stations and your mental well-being. She went viral on YouTube when the three-headed monster of Justin Bieber, Selena Gomez, and Ashley Tisdale released a video of them vibing out to the song. Jepsen signed to both Interscope Records and Schoolboy Records, which is Justin Bieber’s label.

“Call Me Maybe” went on to hold the crown on the Billboard charts for nine weeks in the US along with topping charts in multiple countries. Where the single really found its longevity is the countless and I really mean countless parody videos on the Internet. As of 2017, the music video alone has 960 million views on YouTube. Everyone in her home country of Canada would’ve needed to watch the video 27 times collectively to match that view count.

With a new single collaborating with Owl City and her first album to be internationally released Kiss, at the back end of the calendar year it looked as if Carly Rae Jepsen would be singing us on our way to work well into the next year.

Not the case, as her album performed poorly commercially so she needed to rely on her “Summer Kiss” tour to move up the tax bracket. She also earned herself a spot in Kohl’s “Candie Girl” fashion line up.

She went on to step away from the mainstream limelight, doing a Broadway musical based around some old-timey intellectual property called Cinderella.

Jepsen’s reintroduction into the spotlight was with her new single “I Really Like You” which featured Tom Hanks singing to random pedestrians. Canada might’ve only needed to tune in only five times, but it recaptured some of the listening addictive nature that “Call Me Maybe” had along with putting Jepsen back into the mainstream in an effort to push her next album, Emotion.

Emotion might’ve received critical acclaim, but still under performed in terms of album sales. She drowned in her sorrows by singing the new theme song for Netflix’s nostalgia plunge, Fuller House. Her new tour “Gimme Love” almost doubled her box office of her first tour, so don’t worry guys she’s still doing alright.

Jepsen brought her Broadway skills to the world of rebooted live television stage shows with Fox’s rendition of Grease.

She linked up with Lil Yachty for a new Target commercial, a pairing that some executive must’ve thought of in the middle of the night after his seventh shot of tequila.

“Cut to the Feeling” is her new single that’s already being crowned as the new song of the summer before the summer even started. Time will tell but you can’t say Jepsen doesn’t have a track record when it comes to songs you can neither run or hide from.

Free This Guy Who Was Arrested With 56 Grams Of Mushrooms & 7 oz. Of Weed

Look, it’d be one thing if this guy was slinging 56 grams of heroine, or cocaine, or methamphetamine. Those Walter White-level drugs, you know? But we’re talking mushrooms here, which are, coincidentally, the safest drug in the world. If anything, this guy is doing a good deed. You know how you hear all those stories of people killing themselves with prescription medicine, and then all those other stories about how medical marijuana helped save someone’s life? Picture that — this guy was could have been saving someone from heroine or meth.

And if you don’t believe me, just check this year’s Global Drug Survey, which determined that magic mushrooms are the safest recreational drug to take. In the study, of the more than 12,000 people who reported taking psilocybin hallucinogenic mushrooms in 2016, just 0.2% of them said they needed emergency medical treatment – a rate at least five times lower than that for MDMA, LSD and cocaine.

And it’s kind of obvious when you think about it — LCD is literally made in a lab, cocaine and molly are laced with all sorts of dangerous shit, and then when you get to the real heavy hitters like meth and heroine, you know you’re flirting with death. So free the mushrooms!

All of this is just a long way of me saying that police should just my man Aaron Kincaid Barnett slide, who was arrested on Tuesday for several different charges related to drugs.

Police say he had 56 grams of psilocybin or mushrooms, a schedule I drug in North Carolina, with the intent to sell or distribute them. He also allegedly possessed 189 grams (about 7 ounces) of marijuana with the same intentions.

via Gaston Gazette:

Police say Barnett was using his residence on East Fourth Avenue to keep and sell the marijuana and mushrooms. A magistrate’s order states Barnett had mason jars filled with the drugs and scales.

In total, Barnett has been charged with felony counts of possession with intent to manufacture, sell and deliver a schedule I substance, trafficking a schedule I controlled substance, possession with intent to manufacture, sell and deliver marijuana, maintaining his house as a dwelling to keep and sell drugs from, felony possession of a schedule I controlled substance and felony possession of marijuana.

In addition to the aforementioned charges, Barnett was also charged with two misdemeanor counts of possessing drug paraphernalia and possessing marijuana paraphernalia.

He was arrested by Gastonia Police and is currently in Gaston County Jail being held on a $250,000 bond.

Janet Smith Cause of Death: How Did Stephen A. Smith’s Mother Die?

Janet Smith, the mother of ESPN host Stephen A. Smith, passed away Thursday morning.

Janet Smith Cause of Death

Janet Smith had tragically been battling cancer for some time before her passing.

Her son released a heartfelt statement on her passing.

“My mom would always joke with me about how I never got my mouth from her. What she never knew, what she couldn’t possibly know, is that I never cared too much about not measuring up to her because I always knew perfection lied with her. She is the best mom I have ever known. The best woman I’ve ever known. The best person I’ve ever known. The best friend I ever had. Her will, her core decency, her words of encouragement, her unwavering belief and undying devotion to me, to our family not only weather unimaginable storms that uplifted us in the worst of times. I also reminded my family that, indeed, God is forever looking out for us.

Her presence alone was enough to explain the blessings He bestowed upon our family, just by choosing her to be our mom! In my lifetime I have never encountered anyone more worthy of love, kindness and God’s heavenly grace than mommy. In my mind, I never will.

She loved God. She loved us too. He took care of her.

So she took care of us. If we were hungry, it was because she was starving. When she suffered, it was because we were spared! No words can explain how wonderful she was, what she means to me, to us all. And there is no way to measure the pain of losing her now. Perhaps the only solace at this moment comes from knowing where she is: home. At peace! Finally! No ending can be more beautiful than that, especially for someone so worthy of God’s grace as her. Forgive me, however, for wishing it didn’t hurt so badly. So desperately wishing she was still here!”

The ESPN First Take host also paid tribute to his mother on Mother’s Day back in May in a touching video.
