Tennessee teen writes essay about ordering pizza, gets accepted to Yale

I sh*t you not, folks! This teen from Tennessee wrote a short essay to apply for Yale University, and this essay is about her love for ordering Papa John’s pizza. And guess what? They thinks she’s 100% Yale material. Ravenwood High School graduate Carolina Williams was accepted by Yale in March 2017. The short essay question asked the applicant what they love to do, and you already know Carolina’s answer.

Don’t let this silly answer steer you wrong about Ms. Williams. She ranked in the top 10 of her graduating class. She was also active in multiple extracurricular activities (I’m sure this involved pizza at some point or another).

Even though the ivy league giant accepted Carolina, she decided to pursue her higher educational pursuits elsewhere. She’s decided to head over to Alabama to pursue a business degree at Auburn University. She finds that school to be a better fit and she enjoys their scholarship options.

Pennsylvania man is lonely and intoxicated, so he keeps calling 9-1-1 to spark a conversation

Most people dial 9-1-1 when there’s an absolute emergency, but one person thought it’d be a good idea to call police just to shoot the sh*t. This is the story of 51-year-old Larry Keiser, who first called the Pennsylvania State Police at 10:30 P.M. on a Friday night. He requested to speak with an officer, but had no emergency to report. Keiser called police five more times, which prompted officers to appears at his North Whitehall Township residence around midnight. So, basically this dude called 9-1-1 a total of six times in the span of about an hour and a half. No emergency to report. Just, what’s up?

Keiser told the cops that he was upset about a family issue and drank several beers. The officers warned the intoxicated man to not call 9-1-1 again unless it was a true emergency. Keiser agreed with the troopers and they went back to their station, and all seemed well in the world again. You’d think this guy learned his lesson. Nope. He calls 9-1-1 the minute after officers leave his property.

The police returned to his home and put this silly 51-year-old man in handcuffs. He has been charged with calling 911 for other than emergency purposes.

Cops put about $1,600 worth of crack in their “lost and found” box

Police from northeastern Pennsylvania are just trying to return this crack to its rightful owner. A serious sh*t-load of crack was found in the parking lot of a shopping center just outside Wilkes-Barre. That’s about $1,600 worth of crack-cocaine, which is a whole lot of rock.

Wilkes-Barre Township police went on social media to tell the public about their finding. On the department’s Facebook page, you can find the headline “FOUND ITEM,” which invites whoever is missing this crack to show up at the police station and claim this illicit property worth so much money on the streets. All that crack has been placed in the police’s “lost and found” box.

To win this prize, which probably contains a prison sentence, you’ll need to hold up the crack and an identification card for the camera. You’ll also have to fill out a written statement “containing your claim to the crack.”

Is anyone really that stupid? Either way, the police can be some funny motherf**kers.

Judge says “no” to Robbery Suspect who requested to juggle for the jury

A Massachusetts judge has struck done a plea from an alleged clown who wants to juggle in court to clear up his robbery charge. Orlando Melendez has been charged with the attempted robbery of a convenience store with a toy gun. But Melendez think this is all a big misunderstanding.

Melendez thinks he can prove his innocence by juggling three wads of paper for 20 seconds in the courtroom. He will be representing himself, and claims in his written motion to be “a real clown.”

The 20-year-old man has plead not guilty for the alleged attempted robbery in December. Jury selection will begin on June 8th, 2017.

The judge from Springfield, Massachusetts, doesn’t want to see this guy juggle. I don’t see the harm in letting this guy prove his case in this incredibly strange manner. Hopefully, he’s no joke in the courtroom.

U.S. Officials Warn: No Selifes With Seal Pups!

Little baby seals are cute aquatic critters. But they are not game for your selfie shenanigans. The National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration’s fisheries office says that pupping season is currently underway in the New England area. Adorable baby seals will start popping up on beaches in Red Sox land.

The NOAA has warned the public to avoid taking selfies around these tiny seal pups. They may be freakin’ cute, but control yourself, people!

Mother seals are known to leave heir pups alone for as long as 24 hours. So, you may see those adorable pups lying on the beach all alone without an adult seal standing guard. But if the mother returns and sees someone taking a selfie next to her pride and joy, she might feel threatened and leave her pup behind for good. Just because you felt the need to take a cute selfie, now this baby seal will probably die.

The NOAA has instructed people and their pets to stay at least 150 feet away from those seals (adult or pup). If you don’t comply with those orders, you may just endanger the well-being of such beautiful creatures of the sea.

Taletrius ‘TJ’ Bradley, a star high school football player at Deerfield Beach High School, died Tuesday, May 30, just two days after getting into a car crash after prom in the Corvette his mother rented him for the occasion.

Bradley died Tuesday morning from a brain injury sustained in the early Sunday crash in Plantation, Florida. Bradley, who was a Deerfield Beach High School senior and was set to graduate on Sunday, June 4th, had recently earned a football scholarship and planned to attend the University of Tampa for the fall semester.

Bradley’s teammate, Demetrius Palmer, 17, was in the car when it flipped. He remains in critical condition at Broward Health Medical Center, but is showing signs of improvement.

Deerfield Beach football coach Jevon Glenn said the teens were ejected from the front seat of a 2017 red Chevy Corvette Bradley’s mother had rented her son last weekend so he could attend Plantation High’s prom in style. Bradley was behind the wheel when he lost control of the vehicle.

Glenn said Bradley had recently received the necessary test scores he needed to qualify for a football scholarship. His backup plan, Glenn said, was to attend the University of Tampa. Glenn said Bradley dropped off his prom date and picked Palmer up shortly before the accident.

“He’s still in critical condition,” Glenn said of Palmer. “We’re not in the clear yet, but he’s showing signs of progress. He’s got some head injuries, but they’re continuing to do brain scans and so far they’ve been coming back good. But obviously with all the swelling and things they’re going to keep him sedated so they can keep monitoring him.

Tammie Singletary, Bradley’s mother, said she rented the luxury vehicle for her son as a reward for his success:

“He’s doing something with his life. He’s going to prom. He’s graduating,” Singletary said. “I wanted to put a smile on his face.”

The Lauderhill Police Department said the crash is still under investigation.

Furthermore, a Go Fund Me page set up to raise money for Bradley’s funeral expenses has already surpassed it’s $5,000 goal. Our thoughts and prayers are with Bradley’s family at the time of this tragic loss.

A Los Angeles home owned by Cleveland Cavaliers star LeBron James was vandalized with racist graffiti and police are investigating the incident as a hate crime, TMZ Sports reported.

What Happened?

The front gate of the home was spray painted with the N-word, according to TMZ. The graffiti has since been covered up.

Multiple LAPD units responded to the house early Wednesday. Police are looking for security footage from neighbors that might aid the investigation.

James purchased the home in 2015 but does not reside there on a regular basis. He was not present at the home when the incident occurred.

On Thursday night, James and the Cleveland Cavaliers will play Game 1 of the NBA Finals against the Golden State Warriors. The series marks the first time in NBA history in which the same two teams have met three consecutive times in the Finals. Golden State won the first series in 2014-2015 while the Cavs became the first team ever to comeback from a 3-1 deficit to win the 2015-2016 championship.

LeBron Raymone James is an American professional basketball player for the Cleveland Cavaliers of the National Basketball Association. James, 32, was drafted by his hometown Cleveland Cavaliers with the first overall pick in the 2003 NBA draft. He spent the first seven years of his career with the Cavs before playing for the Miami Heat from 2010-2014 and then returning to Cleveland in the 2014 offseason.

James has won three NBA championships and been named the Most Valuable Player four times in addition to 13 NBA All-Star appearances.

On May 26, 2017, ‘The Eminem Show’ turned 15 years old.

‘The Eminem Show’ hold a special place in my heart — it’s one of the first albums I ever owned, and it was certainly the first album I owned to bear the notorious PARENTAL ADVISORY sticker.

Like any white, suburban kid growing up in the late 90’s and early 2000’s, Eminem was my favorite rapper. And frankly, he was probably the only rapper I ever heard of for quite some time. And given that he was the only rapper I’d ever heard of, when 2002 rolled around, I just had to pick up his latest album, ‘The Eminem Show’. Filled with unabashed classics like ‘Without Me’ and ‘Cleaning Out My Closet’, to cult hit tracks like ‘Superman’ and ‘Sing For The Moment’, to this day ‘The Eminem Show’ is one of the best rap albums of all time.

To coincide with the album’s 15-year anniversary, limited edition and anniversary copies are being sold, and it looks as though Eminem teased a look at one of the new album’s inside covers on his Instagram.

But it wasn’t just any tease — it was a glimpse of what appears to be a handwritten note by Em himself, claiming that Jim Carrey and the movie The Truman Show were the main inspiration behind TES. He even goes as far as suggesting that Carrey ‘wrote the album’:

Naturally, when I read this, my head all but f*cking imploded. If there is one childhood icon I remember more fondly than Eminem, it’s Jim Carrey. Dude is a god damn legend. I can recite every line of Liar Liar just like I can recite every lyric of TES.

Carolina Williams, a Tennessee teenager who earned her an acceptance letter from Yale University after she wrote about ordering from Papa John’s in her application essay, has decided to go to Auburn University instead.

Williams, who was accepted to the Ivy League school in March, won praise from admissions officers for her standout essay answer. When asked to write about something she loves to do, Carolina said she wrote about the first thing she could think of: Papa John’s Pizza.

To Williams’ surprise, a Yale admissions officer wrote to her following her acceptance, saying: ‘As a fellow lover of pizza, I laughed out loud (then ordered pizza) after reading your application.’

Williams, who graduated in the top 10 of her graduating class at Ravenwood High School in Tenessee, opted to go to Auburn University instead, due to better scholarship options.

However, the essay isn’t the only reason Williams got into Yale. Along with being in the top 10 in her graduating class, Williams was also active in her church, volunteered for the Brentwood library, and participated in English Honors Society, National Honors Society, Model UN and Youth in Government.

Williams plans to major in business and minor in economics once she gets to Auburn and aspires to be the CEO of a company one day.

A 22-year-old San Jose University student claimed to police that she was kidnapped at knifepoint, beaten and forced to drive hundreds of miles away over the weekend. Now it appears as if the tall tale was nothing but a fabrication.

What Happened?

The woman had told Oregon police that she was preparing to graduate from San Jose University on Saturday morning when she was kidnapped from her California 500 miles away by a suspect armed with a knife. After police began investigating the incident, the woman reversed course and told officers on Tuesday that she made the whole thing up.

When she was found by authorities in Oregon over the weekend, she told them she had been beaten and kidnapped at knifepoint in San Jose hours earlier. She claimed that her abductor forced her into the car and made her drive across the border into Oregon. She told investigators that she escaped when her car ran out of gas and she hid in nearby tall grass for several hours until it grew dark.

A passerby at Highway 101 and Proper Junction Road in Bandon – roughly 500 miles from where she claimed to have been abducted – found her.

She told authorities her kidnapper was a male in his 30s with no facial hair and that he was wearing a black hoodie, black baseball hat and black winter gloves.

Police discovered her abandoned car nearby.

Her family had alerted authorities after they arrived at her San Jose graduation on Saturday and she failed to meet them.

Police are not yet clear on why the woman lied but said no suspects were wanted in connection with the investigation.

On Tuesday, Jerich Marco Alcantara was all set to attend his graduation ceremony at Hunter College’s Brookdale campus. He was pumped to walk across the stage and get his degree from the Hunter-Bellevue School of Nursing, but the goddamn E train let him down in a major way. Multiple delays caused him to miss the entire ceremony, which had to be absolutely infuriating.

Thankfully, some of his fellow subway passengers decided to make lemonade out of lemons for Jerich, as they held an impromptu graduation ceremony for him.

Here’s New York Magazine with more details on Jerich’s bad luck, along with a Facebook video of the very cool gesture.

Alcantara told Select All he had opted out of attending the main graduation ceremony at Radio City Music Hall later that same day because students were only allotted two tickets, and he wanted all of his family and friends — some of whom were on the stopped train with him — in attendance. Opting out also meant that getting to the commencement was that much more important to him.

“I was on track to be at my commencement at 9:15 a.m., but the delays altogether ended up taking almost three hours,” Alcantara said. “After 45 minutes, I knew I was already late, but I kept hoping that I’d at least make it to walking the stage.” He didn’t make it, but thanks to some friends and strangers on the train that day, he still got to experience a formal graduation. Sort of. A friend presented Alcantara with a “diploma” via a cell phone, while somebody else on the train blasted “Good Riddance (Time of Your Life)” by Green Day. Another passenger filmed the makeshift ceremony and posted the video to Facebook.

That was awesome. It’s videos like these that restore my faith in humanity. It’s real easy to be a cynic these days, but watching that graduation ceremony shows that there are still plenty of kind-hearted people out there.

I’m also really glad that they went with “Time of Your Life,” instead of that corny ass “Graduation” song from Vitamin C. That might be the worst one-hit wonder of all-time. I’d rather contract scurvy than hear that trash ever again.

In case you just got back from a trip to Mars or whatever, the news of the week (other than Donnie Freedom’s daily faux paws) has been Tiger Woods’ Memorial Day Weekend DUI.

On early Monday, May 29, Woods was reportedly asleep at the wheel of his 2015 Mercedes Benz when he was arrested by Jupiter police early Monday morning in Jupiter, Florida.

According to the Probable Cause Affidavit, the 41-year-old Woods had to be woken up by an officer. His car was running at the time and Woods’ right blinker was flashing. After Woods was awoken by police, he failed four field sobriety tests. After failing those four tests, Woods submitted to a breathalyzer and blew a .000 two times, which suggests that there was no alcohol in his system, however, Woods was on four prescription drugs: Soloxer, Vicodin, Torix, and Viox.

While many in the golfing world are coming to Tiger’s side, the most poignant, is John Daly.

Ole’ John Daly knows a thing or two about substance abuse and yet has remained a mainstay, and a fan-favorite, on the tour despite that. So if Tiger should be listening to anyone’s advice right now, it’s Daly, who had a surprising sage-like opinion of the whole thing:

In 1996, Griffin garnered more a prominent acting role in the NBC sitcom Suddenly Susan, starring alongside Brooke Shields’. This role came about after Griffin starred in her first comedy special on HBO.

2000’s-Present

Once Griffin established herself as a exuberant comedic icon, the number of controversies began to mount, which resulted in her becoming a more aggressive presence in the media.

From May 2007-September 2007, Griffin co-hosted The View as a replacement for former co-host Rosie O’Donnell. Ultimately, Whoopi Goldberg was selected as the permanent replacement as Griffin was eventually banned by the program for undisclosed reasons. While she was supposedly unbanned in August of 2009, she was ultimately re-banned due to an argument she had with View co-host Elisabeth Hasselbeck.

On September 8, 2007, Kathy Griffin received a Primetime Emmy Award for Outstanding Reality Program for her show Kathy Griffin: My Life On The D-List. Immediately after winning the award, Griffin gave what many considered a very controversial acceptance speech. Essentially, Griffin made an attempt at being satirical with regards to the numerous celebrities who thank Jesus nonsensically for their achievements. It did not take long for the Catholic League to condemn the comments and former Fox News commentator Bill O’Reilly called Griffin a “pinhead” for her remark.

Still, despite these controversies, Griffin’s comedic and acting career continued to enhance her popularity. In 2011, she appeared in an episode of the hit show Glee and in 2012 Bravo gave Griffin her own comedic talk show titled Kathy. The show had moderate success and lasted for two seasons before being canceled in 2013.

To date, Griffin has continued to release comedic albums while remaining in the controversial limelight. Recently, Griffin participated in a photo shoot in which she can clearly can be seen holding up a bloody head resembling Donald Trump. While Griffin has since apologized for the incident, she was still subject to the understandable scrutiny of both the media and viewing public.

At the end of the day, whether you love or hate her, Griffin has remained true to her identity and rarely makes apologies for her wildly controversial antics. Her over the top comedic style has garnered her a passionate and loyal fan base while simultaneously creating a prominent following of those that despise everything she stands for. Although she may be overzealous, she has utilized her personality and brand effectively to garner an impressive amount of wealth.

Neon Chrome is an interesting top-down stick shooter for the PS Vita. This game kinda reminds me of the original Grand Theft Auto set-up for PS1 with its top-down approach. But GTA didn’t have this intriguing neon theme. You’re probably going to want to check this one out if you love a quick, fast-paced shooter from any angle. What is Spy Chameleon?

You must be a stealthy lizard in this game. It’s essentially another top-down third-person experience, but you play as a chameleon who must avoid being detected. Spy Chameleon is an action-adventure puzzle game that reminds me of the PS1 classic known as Gex. Take a look for yourself. This game came out for PS Vita, but you can also cross-buy Spy Chameleon on your PS4.

We’re not here breaking news on Rickie Fowler and Allison Stokke. This happened a few days ago, but we still got to show respect to Fowler for bagging arguably the hottest athlete on the planet. Dude is crushing the game and his #RickFoundaChick only cements that belief.

Video of a massive brawl just outside of LSU’s campus has been recently released, and the footage is pure chaos. Dozens of people were throwing punches and delivering kicks in a parking lot in the popular Tigerland bar area.

You can check out the wild fight video below, but be warned that is most definitely not for the faint of heart.

Jesus Christ, I’ve seen tons of college fight videos over the years, but that might be the most insane one yet. Just a sea of people exchanging haymakers to create a downright frightening atmosphere. There were unconscious bodies hitting the floor left and right like a goddamn Drowning Pool song.

Here’s The Advocate with LSU’s statement on the troubling incident.

LSU issued a statement on the videos Tuesday afternoon: “LSU is aware of a video showing an altercation off-campus, but at this time we are unaware of when this occurred and if LSU students were involved. We will review and, if necessary, apply the appropriate disciplinary measures.”

Baton Rouge police said they are also looking into the videos after becoming aware of them Tuesday, Coppola said.

I wonder is LSU is aware of who the cameraman is. Every good fight really does need a cameraman, and that dude put on a helluva performance. Get him signed up for a cinematography class, and we might have the next Spielberg on our hands.

Eliza Wasni, 16, has been arrested and accused of the murder of a “gentle and kind” Uber driver named Grant Nelson just after Memorial Day.

CBS Chicago reports that Wasni was arrested on May 30 and will appear in court on May 31 in Skokie, Illinois. On the night of May 29, Grant Nelson’s family say he had finished dinner and went out to make some money as an Uber driver. In the early hours of May 30, Nelson was found stabbed inside his car in north suburban Lincolnwood. He was rushed to St. Francis Hospital in Evanston, Illinois, where he was pronounced dead. Nelson, of Wilmette, was 34 years old.

Wasni Was Found With Two Weapons

The Lincolnwood Police Department said in a press release that Nelson identified Wasni, his passenger, as his assailant. He said he had been stabbed by his passenger, a white, female juvenile. Police then arrested Wasni close to where Nelson was found. She was in possession of two weapons believed to be used to kill Nelson. Officers were dispatched to the area after a resident reported hearing a man screaming for help.

Nelson had been driving his gray 2015 Hyundai Sonata sedan when he was killed. NBC Chicago reports that there is “grainy” surveillance video that showed the Nelson’s car and someone walking out of it at Hampton Place Condominiums around the time of the attack.

CBS Chicago reports that Nelson’s father described the killing as random.

Wasni did not make a statement, police said.

Wasni says on her Facebook page, “I will always be myself.” While her last visible update (above) read, “Ok ok that jus changed everything.” That post was written on February 13.

Wasni also has a profile at Kids Casting, a social media website for aspiring actors. Wasni’s Instagram page has been taken down while her Twitter page does not offer much information other than her location in Chicago.

Illinois No Longer Has a Death Penalty

Wasni will be charged with first degree murder as an adult, according to the Cook County State’s attorney’s office. Illinois abandoned the death penalty in 2011, meaning the maximum penalty in a first degree murder case is life in prison.

First Homicide in Lincolnwood Since 2006

The town of Lincolnwood has not seen a murder since the 2006 murder of Lester McDurmon, according to the Police Department’s release. In that case, Lester’s brother, James McDurmon was sentenced to 60 years in prison for the crime that resulted from a domestic dispute.

Nelson Was Known As a Kind-Hearted Animal Lover

Alex Nelson, Grant’s sister, talked with NBC Chicago about her brother saying that he was especially in love with her family’s dog, Lilly. She added, “He had probably the most extensive collection of classical music of anyone I’ve ever met in life… I want people to know Grant was a good person. He was not a vindictive person. He was not a cruel person. He didn’t deserve this fate.”

Grant’s friend Mike Foley told ABC Chicago, “It’s overwhelming, really. It’s very sad. Heartbreaking.”

Foley was one of many who worked with Nelson in the restaurant industry, and he often drove for rideshare companies, including Uber and Lyft, after his shifts as a waiter. He also said Nelson sometimes spoke about the dangers of late-night driving.

“I remember him mentioning that he once had to stop and get gas in a really sketchy neighborhood. He might not have really thought anything of it,” Foley said.

Colleen Milner, another friend, said, “Grant’s the type of person that would walk away from an altercation. He would never stay around. He would let something go and walk away.”

“It’s pretty heartbreaking to hear that. That guy is super nice. One of the nicest guys you’ll know. Quiet, shy, but he wouldn’t do anything to anybody,” Milner said.

The NBA Finals begin June 1, and people have been waiting nearly a year to see the rubber match in the trilogy between the Cleveland Cavaliers and the Golden State Warriors. We all know what’s at stake for these two teams and the amount of talent on each roster. We also know when and where to watch all of the games.What everybody wants to know is who will win? Well instead of making you wait until the finals are over, I will let you know right now. Let’s look at some of the key matchups and scenarios and see who has the upper hand.

When Golden State has the Ball

Depending on the lineup, the matchups will be the important thing to watch. The main question being, who is going to guard Kevin Durant? LeBron James is obviously capable, but that would take his focus away from the offensive side. If somebody like Iman Shumpert or J.R. Smith is guarding Durant, he will easily shoot over them. The Cavs could dust off somebody like Derrick Williams who has the size and athleticism to guard Durant, but he has not seen much time in the playoffs.  Kevin Love could also give Durant some trouble with his size, but Durant will be able to take him off the dribble. If the Warriors are playing with a center on the floor, Tristan Thompson may be able to slide over and help. But if the Warriors go with their lineup of death,  Tyronn Lue will have to decide if he wants to keep Thompson on the floor or go with somebody like Channing Fyre or Richard Jefferson off the bench.

Durant has been the piece all year that makes this team so difficult to guard, and if LeBron takes it upon himself to stop Durant, the rest of the team will need to step up and lock down the other players, as well as on the offensive end.

When Cleveland has the Ball

When Cleveland has the ball, they will try to get their three best players in their ideal scoring situation. Of course, they try to do that every game, but it is especially important against the swarming defense of the Warriors. For LeBron, he wants to be matched up in the post on a smaller defender or on the perimeter against one of the Warrior centers. If James is in the post against Curry or on the perimeter against Javale McGee or Zaza Pachulia, he should score every time. If Kyrie Irving looks up and sees Steph Curry across from him, he should feel like he can get to the rim every time. If he sees Klay Thompson or anybody else, he should look to drive and dish and try to find a mismatch.

The real X-factor is going to be Kevin Love. He struggled in the finals last year, but he is playing with more confidence now. If he can start hitting shots and expand the Warriors defense, Thompson should be able to rebound and get second chances.

If It’s Close Game

Both teams have a guy who you want with the ball at the end of the game. For the Warriors, Kevin Durant should be the go-to option at the end of a game, especially if somebody other than LeBron is guarding him. You could maybe see a Curry-Durant or a Durant- Green pick and roll to try to get some mismatches, but likely Durant is going to get the ball in a 1-4 set and take the last shot.

For the Cavaliers, the person who takes the last shot probably should not be LeBron, unless he is going to the basket. Kyrie Irving is maybe the best isolation point guard in the league, and a matchup with him guarded by Curry could result just like last year .  A LeBron-Irving pick and roll could get James matched up with Curry, which would be ideal for an end of game play.

The advantage here probably goes to the Warriors, but any end of game scenario should be exciting and each team will get their best options the best shot possible.

If Draymond Green Get’s Suspended Again

Kevin Durant may just kill Draymond. The Warriors would have likely won the championship last year if Green did not get suspended last year, and he will likely be smart enough not to make the same mistake again. But in the moment, and if LeBron’s groin looks kickable, you never know.

If LeBron Gets Hurt

Find something else to watch. Or hope J.R. Smith does this or this every game.

Final Verdict:

I think it will be a close series. Adding a top five player to a team that was already up 3-1 gives the appearance of a quick series. But Kevin Love appears to be very comfortable with his role now, and Kyrie understands what it feels like to be the killer on the team, and he knows when he needs to turn it on. That being said, the Cavaliers will still need a little more. It might be the bench, it might be 40 point per game LeBron, but the Cavaliers need a little more to overcome the addition of Durant and the likelihood that Green is not suspended again. Final prediction Warriors in 7. Kevin Durant MVP.

HBO has unveiled the first official teaser for the upcoming drama series The Deuce, which follows the story of the legalization and subsequent rise of the porn industry in New York’s Times Square from the early 1970s through the mid-1980s, exploring the rough-and-tumble world at the pioneering moments of what would become the billion-dollar American sex industry.

Yeah, that’s one hell of a plot synopsis. Porn + HBO + stars James Franco and Maggie Gyllenhaal + co-creator David Simon (the genius behind The Wire)…Yeah, we’re 100% down with this. Check out the teaser below.

HBO is in a slight state of flux at the moment. Flagship series Game of Thrones has just 13 episodes left in its entire run (though spinoffs are on the horizon), Westworld won’t be returning until 2018, the fate of True Detective is still up in the air. The network needs a steady stream of smaller-scale hits to keep up its prestige image and keep the subscription dollars rolling in. Otherwise, you can kiss event programming like “Battle of the Bastards” or “Bicameral Mind” goodbye.

Will The Deuce serve as another solid base hit for HBO? The teaser doesn’t give much away, but it does suggest a vibrant and go-go picture of New York City in the 70s and 80s. And knowing Simon, you can bet the setting will become a main character in and of itself. Color us intrigued for this one.

The eight-episode season will debut on Sunday, September 10 at 9:00 P.M. ET.

The seniors of Willis High School chose to turn their principal into a dank meme. That’s what he gets for trying to control their pranking nature!

These dank teens chose the “Mocking Spongebob” meme to hang over the cafeteria, along with the warning: “Class of 2017: You can’t walk if you a senior prank.” The origin of this meme comes an episode of Spongebob Squarepants called “Little Yellow Book,” in which our underwater spongy friend imitates a chicken.

Principal Travis Utecht warned the senior class that if they decide to pull any prank, they won’t be walking for graduation. The seniors still agreed to pull off their prank, transforming their bossy principal into a viral sensation. The Twitter photos of the meme principal has been liked well over 280,000 times.

Did this upset the “no prank” principal? You’d think so, but he was actually pretty cool about the whole thing. Nobody was punished for the joke, and not only that, he decided to leave up the funky Spongebob meme/message.

“Utecht told BuzzFeed News that he did not know about the SpongeBob meme until after it was hung up in the cafeteria, but thought it was “hilarious.” He added that he has the “best job in the world and the best kids.”

Utecht offered his opinion on this particular prank, “I will take this anytime. Something at my expense is far superior to any damage to property or inappropriate behavior.”

I guess I misjudged this so-called “authoritarian” principal. He’s pretty cool in my book. One Twitter user even wishes that she went to a school with this cool of a principal.

What melted this administrator’s icy disposition? Who knows? Spongebob Squarepants might have just have hit this principal’s special soft spot.

But where did this information come from? Google compiled data from its search trends to reveal the top words with a number of surprising appearances.

The release of the data comes with the 90th annual Scripps National Spelling Bee at National Harbor in Maryland, where nearly 300 students are competing for a trophy and $40,000 cash prize.

In honor of the spelling bee, Google looked into its own database to see how good Americans are at spelling.
