Considered one of the most likeable and accomplished players in the NBA, shooting guard Manu Ginobili is an inspirational superstar. One of only two players to have won a EuroLeague title, an NBA championship and an Olympic gold medal, Ginobili has made a name for himself as a versatile team player. As a member of the San Antonio Spurs, Ginobili has won four NBA championships and was instrumental in his team succeeding in this regard. Given Ginobili’s immense success as a well-rounded basketball athlete, the question remains of how much is the respected NBA star actually worth?

Manu Ginobili’s Net Worth as of 2017: $45 Million

How did the humble shooting guard get there? And how has his illustrious career garnered him this type of wealth? Let’s take a closer look.

1995 – 2002

Before Ginobili became a Spurs fan favorite in the United States, he was a well-traveled international basketball player in both the Argentine and Italian Leagues. Ginobili got his first taste of playing professionally in 1995 when he played for Andino Sport Club in Argentina. After a brief stint with Andino, Ginobili was traded to his hometown team Estudiantes de Bahia Blanca, where he played for two years.

Ginobili’s career picked up steam when he moved to Europe and played with the Italian team Basket Viola Reggio Calabria. In just two years with the organization, Ginobili was promoted from Italian 2nd Division to Italian 1st Division.

Despite being selected with the 57th overall pick in the 1999 NBA Draft by the San Antonio Spurs, Ginobili opted to return to Italy to play for Kinder Bologna. This decision proved to be vital in Ginobili’s development as he won the Italian League Championship in 2001, won back to back Italian Cups from 2001-2002 and won the EuroLeague championship in 2001.

He reportedly earned $11.5 million in 2002.

2002 – Present

Ginobili joined the Spurs for the 2002 season where he initially backed up veteran guard Steve Smith. Ginobili’s NBA career got off to a rocky start as he spent the early part of the season injured. On top of that, Ginobili had some issues adjusting to the NBA style of play, which was a type of adversity the budding star had not experienced when he played in Europe. However, as Ginobili’s health improved so did his effectiveness as a legitimate NBA player. Despite starting in only six games in his first NBA season, Ginobili stepped up in the playoffs as a vastly overlooked scoring threat. As a result of Ginobili’s contributions, the already well-coached and disciplined Spurs cruised to the NBA Finals and won their second NBA championship.

As a result of Ginobili’s crucial consistency in the playoffs, the Spurs began to feature the mature guard in more of a starting role in 2003. In his new found role as a starter, Ginobili improved in all major statistical categories (12.8 PPG, 4.5 RPG, 3.8 APG, 1.8 SPG). Although Ginobili did not start at any point during the NBA playoffs, he still managed to improve his post season numbers, particularly as a scorer(13 PPG during playoffs).

Continuing to build off last years individual success, Ginobili started in every game during the 2004 regular season. He was selected to the Western Conference All-Star team as a reserve player, which ultimately elevated his status as a respected NBA athlete. During the Spurs playoff run to their third NBA championship, Ginobili asserted himself as a dominant and versatile scorer. He made 50.7% of his shots from the field and was lights out as a perimeter shooter (43.8% three point percentage).

The 2005 regular season was a difficult time for Ginobili as he suffered from debilitating foot and ankle injuries. While Ginobili returned to form by the start of the playoffs, he was unable to prevent the Spurs from being eliminated by the Dallas Mavericks in the Conference Semi-Finals.

In 2006, Ginobili proved that he was a consummate team player and contributor as he came off the bench for a Spurs team that lacked depth. Although Ginobili only started in less than half of the regular season games, he still averaged 16.5 PPG. Once again, Ginobili continued his dominance as a cluch playoff scorer as he helped the Spurs sweep the Cleveland Cavaliers in the NBA Finals.

Coming off the bench in 2007, Ginobili was aggressive as a scorer (19.5 PPG) and as a physical rebounder (4.8 RPG). As a result of selflessness and statistical prowess, Ginobili was rewarded with the Six Man of the Year Award. Inserted into a starting role during the second round of the NBA playoffs against the New Orleans Hornets, Ginobili was unfazed by the limelight and led the Spurs in points and assists per game during the series. Unfortunately, Ginobili and the Spurs were unable to overcome their rivals the Los Angeles Lakers in the Western Conference Finals (lost the series in five games).

The 2008 NBA season proved to be a low point for Ginobili and the Spurs. Ginobili played in just over half the regular season games and missed the NBA playoffs entirely. While the Spurs claimed the third seed in the Western Conference, their aging starting line up was unable to get past the first round of the NBA playoffs.

Healthy again, Ginobili entered the 2009 season energized and confident in his abilities to make himself a necessity as a bench player. After the end of the season, Ginobili signed a three-year contract extension that was worth $39 million.

After being a reliable bench player for the majority of his career, Ginobili was finally rewarded for his efforts and patience as he started in 79 games during the 2010 regular season. For his efforts, Ginobili was named a Western Conference All-Star and was named to the All-NBA third team by the end of the season.

While Ginobili did not have as much of a prominent role as he did the previous season, he made the most of his opportunities during a shortened lockout season in 2011. He set career highs in field goal percentage (52.6%) and three point field goal percentage (41.3%).

Although Ginobili continued his impressive consistency in the 2012 regular season and NBA playoffs, his concerted efforts were not enough to prevent the Spurs from losing to the Miami Heat in seven games in the NBA Finals.

Ginobili and the Spurs had one of their best seasons to date in 2013, as they compiled a 62-20 record, which was the best in the league. While the Heat and Spurs met again in the NBA Finals, it proved be a dominant redemption series for the Spurs. They dispatched the Heat in five games and Ginobili won his fourth NBA championship.

Over the next two years, Ginobili hit several career milestones. Ginobili played in his 900th career NBA game on January 14 2016 in a win against the Cleveland Cavaliers. On November 9, 2016, Ginobili became the 15th second round pick to reach 13,000 points in a career.

While Ginobili’s statistical output during the 2016 regular season and the 2017 playoffs were not impressive, he still proved that when the opportunity presented itself for him to shoot that he could make the shot. Although Ginobili’s potential last season in the NBA ended on a downtrodden note as the Spurs were swept in the Western Conference Finals by the Golden State Warriors, Ginobili conducted himself with class and humility as the die-hard Spurs faithful cheered for Ginobili as he excited the arena.

Whether Ginobili stays or retires in the near future is anyone’s guess. From a statistical standpoint, his lack of point production and accuracy from the perimeter certainly point to a strong chance of Ginobili finally moving on. However, when looking back on Ginobili’s prolific career, it’s hard not to be fond of the dedicated athlete that played selflessly to help his team win. Unlike most gifted athletes, Ginobili never displayed any ire about not being a consistent starter. In fact, Ginobili embraced his role and was grateful for the opportunity to be with an organization that helped him develop as a NBA star and as a genuinely great human being.

He reportedly earned $14 million in 2017.

Various rule changes are being proposed and voted on at the NFL owners spring meetings in Chicago. The rules changes vary from roster cuts in the preseason to the length of the overtime period, to the types of permitted touchdown celebrations. Let’s look at the impact of some of these changes and some of the other notes from the meetings.

After arguments that shortening the overtime period would make the game safer, ESPN is reporting that the overtime period will be shortened from 15 minutes to 10 minutes. This change was proposed in March but was finally voted on during the spring meetings. With a shorter overtime and the rule that a field goal on the first possession does not end the game, it is possible that more ties will be the result for the next season. It will also be closely watched to see if the extra five minutes off of the overtime period really makes the players safer.

Another one of the rule changes involves the elimination of the 75-man cut down during the preseason. Essentially this means that rosters will need to be cut down from 90 plus players to 53 after the final preseason game. While this gives more players time to prove themselves, it also will mean many players will lose their job at the same time. It will be a mad dash to sign players to practice squads and sort through all of the roster changes before the regular season.

A final rule change should come as a relief for lovers of GIFs and viral videos. After cracking down on touchdown celebrations by penalizing and fining player, the NFL has loosened their restrictions on what types of celebrations are permitted. Group celebrations, using the ball as a prop, laying on the ground and making snow angels are now allowed as celebrations. However offensive gestures and twerking are still not allowed. It will be exciting to see what the players think of and where the new line of appropriateness will be drawn.

After an IED set off at the end of an Ariana Grande concert in Manchester killed 22 and injured another 59 more, the people of Manchester rallied together, opening both their homes and their hearts to those affected.

As soon as news of the heinous attack began to spread, those nearby were offering everything and anything they could to help each other out.

It’s moments like these — moments where the ugliness of certain men can rear its head — where we need to highlight the innate good of mankind and how quick most of us are to lend a helping hand.

Taxis offering free rides, restaurants offering free food, civilians offering a comfortable place, and safe, to sleep — in it’s darkest hour, the city of Manchester came together to show the world what the human spirit is all about.

According to reports, President Trump has spoken with UK Prime Minister Theresa May about the bombing, “expressing condolences and assistance” on behalf of the United States.

“I extend my deepest condolences to those so terribly injured in this terrorist attack and to the many killed and the families, so many families, of the victims. We stand in absolute solidarity with the people of the United Kingdom,” Trump said. “So many young beautiful innocent people living and enjoying their lives murdered by evil losers in life. I won’t call them monsters because they would like that term. They would think that’s a great name. I will call them from now on losers because that’s what they are. They’re losers, and we’ll have more of them, but they’re losers, just remember that.”

On Tuesday morning, ISIS claimed responsibility for the bombing in a brief statement that did not identify the bomber. The statement also appeared to get some of the facts of the attack wrong. ISIS claimed a “caliphate soldier managed to place a number of devices among a gathering of crusaders in Manchester, and detonated them”, however, officials say there was only one explosion, and no other devices have been discovered at the arena.

The bombing at the Ariana Grande concert was the deadliest in England since four British Muslims killed 52 people in suicide bombings on London’s train system in 2005.

Devon Arthurs, an 18-year-old Florida man who once had common neo-Nazi beliefs with his two roommates, murdered them after he converted to Islam, claiming they had disrespected his faith.

According to police, Arthurs, 18, of Tampa, told police he shot his roommates Jeremy Himmelman, 22, and Andrew Oneschuk, 18, on Friday, May 19, at the Hamptons at Tampa Palms complex after becoming upset about widespread anti-Muslim sentiment. Arthurs said he “wanted to bring attention to the cause.”

After killing Himmelman and Oneschuk, Arthurs briefly held an employee and customers hostage at the nearby Green Planet Smoke Shop, saying he had just killed his roommates, “blasting their head” with a semi-automatic pistol.

“Do me a favor and get the f— on the ground!” Arthurs allegedly yelled as he stormed into the store. “Why shouldn’t I kill you?”

A fourth roommate, Brandon Russell, 21, was found unharmed but later charged with illegally storing bomb-making equipment in his garage.

While searching the garage, investigators found a cooler full of a white, cake-like explosive material known as HMTD, or hexamethylene tiperoxide diamine, according to a criminal complaint filed in U.S. District Court. Nearby, they found explosive precursors — chemicals that can be mixed to create explosives — including potassium chlorate, potassium nitrate, nitro methane and more than a pound of ammonium nitrate in a package addressed to Russell.

Investigators also found electric matches and empty 5.56-caliber ammunition casings with fuses that could be used to detonate destructive devices once HMTD was added to the casings. The materials could be used to make a bomb, according to the complaint.

In addition, pagers carried by bomb technicians alerted them to the presence of two radiation sources. The complaint does not say whether they were connected to the explosive materials.

Arthurs was arrested and charged on two counts of first-degree murder, three counts of armed kidnapping and a count of aggravated assault with a firearm. He said told investigators that all four roommates shared neo-Nazi beliefs until he converted to Islam.

Out of all the TV shows, The Saint ran for the longest time period. When this show from the United Kingdom became exposed to the American market, Moore was transformed into a household name. During his years playing the role of Simon Templar, Moore’s role expanded from actor to producer and director of episodes.

1973 – 1990

Roger took up the iconic role of James Bond in 1973, as he starred in the film Live and Let Die. Moore played James Bond in seven different films, adding his humorous brand of one-liners to the mix. He was even named “Best Bond” for an Academy Awards poll in 2004 and in 2008. He’s the oldest person to have played James Bond: 45-years-old with the first film and 58-years-old when he stepped away from his Bond role in 1985 with A View to a Kill.

Moore acted in 13 other films during his James Bond period, but none of these movies were critically or financially successful. After he retired from playing Bond, Moore took five years off from acting. In 1990, he returned to the television screen on the show My Riviera. He also returned to the silver screen that year for the film Bed & Breakfast.

1990 – Present

Roger took another hiatus from film, only to return in a supporting role for the 1996 martial arts film The Quest. In 1997, Moore played the Chief in the movie Spice World. And if you were semi-conscious in the late ’90s, you probably know what that film is about.

In 2002, Moore starred in the movie Boat Trip. Even though the film was universally panned, Moore’s role was praised as being one of the more enjoyable aspects of the movie.

The actor next appeared in a 2009 advertisement for the Post Office. Later that year, he went back to his secret agent past in the Victoria Wood Christmas Special on BBC1 right in time for the holiday season. The very next year, Moore played a cat for the very first time in his acting career, as he lent his voice to the film Cats & Dogs: The Revenge of Kitty Galore.

Moore appeared in another holiday-related story in the 2011 film A Princess for Christmas. In 2012, he took his acting abilities to the stage in UK theaters for seven shows of Evenings With. Roger was even named one of GQ’s fifty best dressed British men in 2015. He was never too old to stay sharp.

On May 23, 2017, Sir Roger George Moore passed away. He was a father of three children. He had survived three divorces, but that didn’t stop him from marrying again, when he tied the knot with Kristina Tholstrup in 2002. Moore was a philanthropist, who spent time supporting PETA and UNICEF, looking out for the rights of animals and the well-being of women and children in developing countries. Moore was a beautiful human being that has contributed so much to this world, whether on film or in-person.

The NBA Eastern Conference Finals continues tonight with game four from Cleveland. We will have all of the latest updates and analysis so stay tuned all night.

After the Boston Celtics pulled off the greatest upset in NBA playoff history in game three, they will try to even the series tonight in Cleveland. LeBron James will try to bounce back from his poor performance in game three and take control of the series. The Celtics fell behind early in game three but were able to shoot effectively in the second half and came out with the narrow victory. Tune in at 8:30 to TNT to see if game three was a fluke, or if this is going to be a competitive series. The winner of this series will face the Golden State Warriors in the NBA Finals. The Warriors finished off their four-game sweep of the San Antonio Spurs last night and will take some time off before the finals begin on June 1.

First Quarter

10:12- Lebron James settling for the jumper. Needs to attack the rim against Olynyk

8:50- Olynyk has missed two easy shots at the rim. Celtics need those to secure the upset

7:22- Celtics moving well without the ball and exploiting mismatches. Ideal start for them

7:00- James scores for this first time in 21 minutes of game time going back to last game.

6:20- Avery Bradley working open effectively in the offense. Irving struggling to stay attached

5:20- Some early foul trouble for the Celtics sees Jonas Jerebko making his first appearance of the game

4:17- Kevin Love with his signature outlet pass will maybe get LeBron going in this game

3:07- Cavaliers settling for jump shots. We have yet to see the Kyrie-LeBron pick and roll to get moving toward the basket

2:24- Don’t you feel like James could do that every play

1:42- Maybe a little too much shooting confidence there for the Celtics. Leave the outside shooting to your 29% guard next time.

1:00- That is the most excited I have ever seen announcers about a missed dunk

0:15- Iso-Olynyk with maybe a little bit of a push off. Still gets it to go as the first quarter ends.

Second Quarter

11:20- Bad plus-minus for Shumpert in game 3. Let’s see if this lineup does better this game

9:50- Celtics continue to try to muck it up and get easy baskets from chaos

9:12- The Cavaliers are doing a good job of contesting the three then leaking down for the outlet. It has worked for them about three times so far. Celtics guards need to get back in transition

8:55-LeBron is smart enough to not be a liability with the three fouls, but it is still concerning going forward

8:04- Kevin Love continues to be a first-half hero. Maybe his shooting will carry to later in the game

6:46- The refs made the tough call and now the Cavaliers will need to weather the storm

4:37-Irving will try to carry the offense, but somebody has to guard Avery Bradley

3:04- Olynyk could get called for a few holding penalties if this were a different sport

1:24- Same set a few times in a row for the Cavaliers. Offense centered around Irving

0:33-Bradley all up in Irving’s shorts. Irving will get his but Bradley making it difficult

HALFTIME- Celtics have to love where they are. If their hot shooting continues, they have a great chance to steal another game in Cleveland

Third Quarter

12:00- LeBron starts the second half and tries to not pick up his fifth foul

10:04- Not much movement for the Cavaliers off the ball as Kyrie has to try and play hero ball

8:10- Never thought you would say this game needs more Jonas Jerebko

7:30- Clearly the bank has extended hours tonight

5:52- Cavaliers not getting anything from their bench tonight, but Kevin Love trying to do it himself with rebounding and post-ups

4:14- Well that miss will be a meme tomorrow

3:35- The jab step of death puts the Cavaliers down by just one

2:09- Time to keep an eye on fatigue for both teams down the stretch as the bench players have not seen much time

1:47- Kyrie laces up his shoes tight to keep the swelling down. He should be fine for the rest of the game, but he needs to get some ice after once his shoe comes off.

0:53- Can’t take Kyrie out because the ankle will balloon up if he sits. He also is the best player on the floor right now. So for those reasons.

0:01- Nice quarter for Kyrie. Celtics need to find an answer or they will be heading home down 3-1

Fourth Quarter

10:53- Much better ball movement for the Celtics gets a great look from the corner

9:08-Kyrie heads to the bench, likely not for too long. The Cavaliers will try to keep the offense running without him.

8:30- Having LeBron certainly helps.

7:06- LeBron obviously is not too happy with some of these calls

6:19- Horford is not too happy with the calls either. No comment from this writer

4:44- James looks a lot more confident and not trying to force the offense.

SmackDown Live‘s Shane McMahon briefly mentions Mahal winning the WWE Championship last night. The crowd boos. McMahon says that in four week’s time, five men will compete in the Money in the Bank ladder match. Here are the wrestlers who will be competing in that ladder match: AJ Styles, Baron Corbin, Sami Zayn, Dolph Ziggler, and Kevin Owens? No wait, Shane says KO isn’t one of the participants. The 5th participant will be “The King of Strong Style” Shinsuke Nakamura.

Owens complains and makes his case to Shane. KO won last night, unlike Dolph, AJ and Corbin. KO claims favoritism is the reason why he didn’t get a slot in the match. Shane hears his case, and makes Owens the sixth member of the Money in the Bank ladder match. This just pisses off Baron Corbin and he says that he’s going to back KO pay for that. He then calls Zayn a loser and a “Rudy.” Sami says that can go right now, they don’t have to wait for Money in the Bank. Shane McMahon holds both men apart.

AJ Styles calls Owens’ WWE’s verison of Eric Cartman. Hilarious stuff here. KO runs his mouth some more and Ziggler tells him to shut up. Dolph reminds everyone that he is the only one here to have won a Money in the Bank match. And he says he’s going to do it again. But the King of Strong Style thinks otherwise.

Natalya is demanding a SmackDown Women’s Championship match next week. Nattie won her match tonight, so she wants a title shot. Shane O’Mac agrees, but then pretty much all the women (besides Naomi) come out and they all want a shot at the champion. Carmella thinks she deserves the shot because she beat Naomi twice. Becky thinks she deserves the chance because she’s the very first SmackDown Women’s Champion. Charlotte Flair says that “The Queen” needs her crown and their wouldn’t be a Welcoming Committee if she wasn’t such a huge threat. Even James Ellsworth throws in his opinion and tells Tamina Snuka that what’s preventing her from a title shot is that she won’t stop making googly eyes at Ellsworth. He informs Ms. Snuka that she’s in the friend-zone. To settle this dispute in accordance to fairness, Shane McMahon announces a fatal 5 way elimination match for next week. The winner will challenge Naomi for the WWE SmackDown Women’s Championship. The participants will be Natalya, Becky Lynch, Carmella, Tamina, and Charlotte.

Kevin Owens & Dolph Ziggler vs. AJ Styles & Shinsuke Nakamura

Ziggler and Styles tangle to start off this match-up. Dolph attempts a dropkick, but AJ ducks out of the way and lands his on dropkick on “The Showoff.” AJ tags in Nakamura, but Ziggler gets a case of the yellow tale and tags in Kevin Owens. KO talks trash, but Nakamura doesn’t need words because he relies upon action. Shinsuke goes to work on whipping ass. KO escapes out of the ring as we go to commercial break.

Nakamura and Owens mix it up. “The King of Strong Style” lands a big knee to KO’s gut. But Owens is a former Universal Champion for a reason and quickly regains ground against Nakamura. KO stops away on Shinsuke as he yells out to the crowd that he’s going to be champ. Owens tags in “The Showoff” and they double team Nakamura. Ziggler hits a neckbreaker onto his opponent and goes for the cover. 1…2…Nakamura kicks out!

Shinsuke tries to mount a comeback, but The Showoff is way too focused tonight. Ziggler keeps Nakamura on his back and tags in Owens. KO is all over Nakamura like a fly on sh*t. Kevin kicks The King of Strong Style hard in the back. KO slaps in a headlock as the crowd chants for “AJ.” Nakamura tries to fight up and out, but KO is way too dominant. Owens tags Dolph back in, and the villainous duo double-team their vulnerable opponent. Nakamura fights off both men and tries to make a tag to Styles, but Ziggler pushes him back to the corner.

Owens gets the tag and he immediately attacks Styles and knocks him off the apron. KO smacks Shinsuke with a clothesline and then annihilates him with a running cannonball into the corner. Kevin goes for the cover. 1…2…Shinsuke kicks out again! Owens lands some serious strikes on Nakamura as we go to the last commercial break.

We’re back from the break: Ziggler lands a dropkick on Nakamura. Dolph goes for the cover, but Shinsuke kicks out once again. Owens gets tagged lands a big splash on Shinsuke for yet another 2 count. Owens tags in Ziggler and yells at him to finish the King of Strong Style. Nakamura regains ground and pushes back The Showoff, but eats knees to the gut instead. Ziggler runs towards Nakamura, but smacks into the ring-post instead.

Nakamura finally tags in AJ, who comes in hot on Ziggler with strikes, a clothesline, and sliding forearm for a 2 count of The Showoff. Styles gains some revenge against KO when he knocks him off the apron. AJ and Ziggler mix it up, but Styles gains control with a fireman’s carry neckbreaker. AJ attempts a Styles Clash, but gets distracted by KO. Ziggler capitalizes and dumps Styles off the top rope and onto the floor. KO follows that up with a senton splash onto AJ.

Ziggler attempts a superplex from the top rope, but AJ slides free. Dolph tries to stop AJ from making the tag, but gets dropped on his face instead. Nakamura and Owens both get the tag at once, and Shinsuke is showing his dominant side. The King of Strong Style attacks Owens like a wild-man and hits him with a running knee into the corner. Shinsuke props KO on the top rope and knocks him back down with another devastating running knee. Nakamura goes for the cover, but Ziggler breaks up the pin-fall at the count of 2.

Dolph tries to hit Nakamura with a Zig Zag, but instead eats an exploder. Shinsuke attempts a Kinshasa on Ziggler, but KO breaks it up to safeguard The Showoff. But then Owens gets smacked in the head with a wicked Pele kick via The Phenomenal One. AJ sets up KO for the Styles Clash, but Ziggler breaks up the move with a super-kick. A student at Hickory Ridge High School in Harrisburg, North Carolina, fears her college future is in jeopardy after her school suspended her for a rash reason.

On Wednesday, May 17, Summer, a senior at Hickory Ridge High School, wore a green shirt that rests just off the tops of her shoulders and exposes her collarbone.

According to Summer, while she was eating lunch, the principal approached her in the cafeteria, asking if she had a jacket. She did not, so she borrowed one from a friend. However, the school saw the situation differently.

In the suspension notice from Hickory Ridge High School, the principal and Summer apparently had an interaction where the principal told Summer to cover up with a jacket. The report states Summer responded with, “I think my shirt is fine.” The principal then told Summer that her lower back was also completely exposed, so she was still not in compliance with dress code. Summer repeats again, “My shirt is fine.”

Summer says neither she nor the principal was able to reach her mother. The period ended and Summer accompanied dozens of her friends to the auditorium. Shortly after, she says the principal entered the room and ordered everyone to leave except for Summer.

Her mother was not able to be reached, so when the period ended,  Summer accompanied her friends to the auditorium. Shortly after, she says the principal entered the room and ordered everyone to leave except for Summer.

“[The SRO] was within five feet of me, he had his hand on his gun. [The principal] said ‘I’m gonna give you an ultimatum. We have tried to call your mother. You either come with me to the control room to change your shirt or we will arrest you.”

Summer says she remained seated and proceeded to try to reach her mother again.

“I stayed in my seat just like a lot of role models that I have looked up to stayed in their seats,” she says. “I mean, you have to stand up for what you believe in.”

Summer says the principal instructed the SRO to arrest Summer. Before he could handcuff her, her mother called back.

Summe is an honor roll student with a 4.4 GPA and has a full scholarship to a major university. The official cause for suspension according to the letter sent home was “insubordination.”

The father of Richard Collins III, a black Bowie State University student killed in a possible hate crime, emotionally accepted his son’s degree just three days after he was killed.

Richard Collins III, a 23-year-old US Army lieutenant, was fatally stabbed at around 3:00 A.M. on Saturday, May 20, while visiting the neighboring University of Maryland.

Collins was waiting for an Uber with two friends on the College Park campus. The group was standing near a bus stop on Regents Drive by Montgomery Hall when the victim was stabbed in the chest with a folding knife, police said. He was rushed to a local hospital where he was pronounced dead.

Collins was remembered on Tuesday at Bowie State University’s commencement, where he was meant to graduate with a degree in business.

A moment of silence was held in the slain student’s honor and his graduation gown was draped over front row chairs at the ceremony. His father Richard Collins Jr. took to the stage at the commencement and accepted his son’s degree on his behalf to large cheers from the crowd.

The ceremony was held at the neighboring university’s College Park campus – the same place Collins was visiting when he was killed.
University of Maryland physics professor Charles Clark dressed in his academic regalia and carried a sign honoring Collins as he greeted Bowie State graduates and faculty at the ceremony on Tuesday.

Collins was commissioned to join the Army through the school’s ROTC program earlier this week.

Sean Christopher Urbanski, the 22-year-old University of Maryland student who stabbed Collins, was charged with first and second-degree murder as well as first-degree assault for the alleged attack.

Urbanski, who was not scheduled to graduate this year, is being held without bail. His first hearing is scheduled for June 15.

Taylor Brooks Boyles, an Alabama middle school teacher, has turned herself in to police after being charged with sexual misconduct involving a male high school student.

According to Lawrence County Sheriff Gene Mitchell, investigators were tipped off that Boyles, 27, had been engaging in inappropriate sexual contact with an 18-year-old student at Lawrence County High School.

Boyles, a recently divorced math and social studies teacher at Moulton Middle School, has been charged with engaging in a sex act with a student younger than 19, a felony punishable by up to 10 years in prison.

Mitchell said the arrest came on Monday afternoon after investigators, along with the assistance of the Moulton Police Department and the Lawrence County Board of Education received information that Boyles had been engaging in inappropriate sexual contact with a Lawrence County High School student.
After learning of the possible illegal contact, board of education staff members contacted law enforcement and the investigation began.

According to Lawrence County Superintendent Jon Bret Smith, Boyles has been put on administrative leave pending the completion of the investigation. Smith also said that none of the alleged acts occurred on a school campus and that no students were ever in danger.

Smith released a full statement on the incident:

“At 12:01 P.M. Thursday, I was notified of a personnel issue involving a school employee. Within two hours, I had investigated the issue and placed an employee on administrative leave. At no time was any student put in danger. The alleged events did not occur on a Lawrence County school campus. The safety of the Lawrence County students is our utmost priority.”

Boyles, a 2012 graduate of the University of North Alabama who was hired as a full-time teacher in the Lawrence County School System in 2015, turned herself in at the Lawrence County Jail shortly after noon Monday. She was released shortly after posting a $10,000 bail.

According to prosecutors, Williams made at least 11 round trips between San Francisco and Charlotte from October 2014 to February 2015. During that time, he smuggled approximately 880 pounds of marijuana across the country.

San Fransisco police arrested Williams after finding him with $40,000 at the San Fransisco airport. Williams was charged conspiracy to distribute and to possess with intent to distribute marijuana and conspiracy to commit money laundering.

Lavon Williams, 38, of Jamaica, N.Y., flew at least 11 times between the cities with about 40 pounds of marijuana each trip, prosecutors said.

The flights were from October 2014 to February 2015, when co-conspirator Thajuan Brown was arrested at Charlotte Douglas International Airport with 46 pounds of marijuana, according to court records. Six days later, police arrested Williams after finding him with $40,000 in drug proceeds at San Francisco’s airport.

Williams was convicted of conspiracy to distribute and to possess with intent to distribute marijuana and conspiracy to commit money laundering.

According to court records, a co-conspirator named Thajuan Brown was arrested in February 2015 at Charlotte Douglas International Airport with 46 pounds of marijuana. Authorities say they’re still looking for two others wanted in connection with the smuggling ring: Pierre Buissereth, 35, of New York and Toccara Quantavia King, 35, of Virginia.

The owner of West Ham United, a soccer team in the English Premier, has vowed to pay for a homeless man’s rent for six months to thank him for helping the victims of the Manchester suicide bombing at the Ariana Grande concert.

In an interview, Stephen Jones, who is homeless, revealed how he pulled nails out of a young girl’s face after terrorist Salman Abedi killed 22 people and injured 119 when he detonated a nail bomb at the end of an Ariana Grande concert at the Manchester Arena.

Jones, who had been sleeping nearby the Manchester arena, recalled the horrifying scene as children covered in blood began running out of the arena, ‘leaving behind lifeless bodies surrounded by hysterical mothers.’

Jones, who has been homeless for over a year and used to work as a bricklayer, said he also tended to a woman aged in her 60s who died in his arms.

Now, West Ham’s co-chairman David Sullivan and his son Dave Jr. have revealed they want to repay Jones, 35, for his heroic actions.

A homeless hero who rushed to the aid of the victims of the Manchester terrorist attack now has somewhere to live thanks to West Ham United Joint-Chairman David Sullivan and son Dave.

The Joint-Chairman and his eldest son were moved by reports of a man named Steve, who was sleeping rough near Manchester Arena when a bomb went off at a concert being given by American singer Ariana Grande on Monday evening. Steve quickly rushed to the scene, where he tended to children hurt in the horrific incident which left 22 people dead and more than 50 injured.

His selfless act was recognised by the Sullivans, with Dave taking to social media in an attempt to locate Steve and find him a home, with the offer of paying his rent for the next six months. Hours later, Steve had been found, and the Joint-Chairman and his son are now working out a plan to pay the hero’s rent for the next six months, while also providing him with new clothes and opportunities to find work in the future.

Furthermore, a JustGiving page set up to raise funds for Jones has raised nearly £18,000.

I didn’t write about the first hand-holding moment because, despite how much I enjoy taking the piss out of Trump (that’s a British phrase, I’m cultured), the coverage on him can be exhausting and you can’t write about every little thing. But just a day later, after the first video went completely viral, Melania pulled the same damn move, and maybe even more flagrantly this time.

Look, I’m no body language expert, but I did major in communications at Rutgers, and while I barely learned much, I do remember them always talking about non-verbal cues. For example, looking up and away when you’re lying, or shaking when you’re nervous, etc, etc. And as far as I know, quickly withdrawing your hand and then brushing your hair to the side is NOT good body language at all.

But why is Melania so mad at Donnie Freedom? The prevalent theory is that Melania wanted to merely be a trophy wife, not the First Lady of the free world. And now, not only has Trump dragged her into the whole mess, but he’s embarrassing them both as he does it. And their not even half of a year in.

Salman Abedi, 23, was identified as the attacker who detonated a suicide bomb at the Manchester Arena at the end of an Ariana Grande concert, killing at least 22  and injuring 59 others. According to reports, Abedi used a nail bomb. ISIS has since claimed responsibility for the attack and Abedi died at the scene.

Now, pictures obtained by Daily Mail show Salman Abedi as an innocent schoolboy, about seven years before he murdered 22 people including children by detonating a bomb at Manchester Arena on Monday, May 22.

According to classmates, the pictures were taken near his home in South Manchester and on a trip in his parents’ home country of Libya when he was 14 or 15.

Abedi, who was described as an ‘ordinary teenager’, reportedly showed little interest in religion. His friends even said that he smoked marijuana.

Abedi went to Burnage Academy, a boy’s school catering largely to Manchester’s Asian community and was a keen footballer, often playing at the ground at Whalley Range High School where the Manchester United Foundation held soccer sessions.

On Tuesday, May 23, ISIS claimed responsibility for the bombing in a brief statement that did not identify the bomber. The statement also appeared to get some of the facts of the attack wrong. ISIS claimed a “caliphate soldier managed to place a number of devices among a gathering of crusaders in Manchester, and detonated them”, however, officials say there was only one explosion, and no other devices have been discovered at the arena.

The bombing at the Ariana Grande concert was the deadliest in England since four British Muslims killed 52 people in suicide bombings on London’s train system in 2005.

About a year ago, in July 2016, Lionel Messi and his father were found guilty of using companies in Belize, Britain, Switzerland and Uruguay to avoid paying taxes on $4.16 million euros of Messi’s income earned from his image rights from 2007-09.

Today, Spain’s Supreme Court confirmed that Messi had received a 21-month jail sentence and $2.25 million fine.

The hidden income related to Messi’s image rights that include endorsement deals with Danone, Adidas, Pepsi-Cola, Procter & Gamble and the Kuwait Food Company. While both Messi and his father were given 21 months in jail, the sentences are likely to be suspended. In Spain, it is common for non-violent crime sentences to be suspended for first-time offenders.

While the court confirmed the sentence for Messi on Wednesday, it reduced it to 15 months jail for his father, taking into account that his football star son had paid back the defrauded money to tax authorities.

During last year’s trial, Messi had argued that he trusted his father with his finances and “knew nothing” about how his wealth was managed. But the Supreme Court argued that he would have known about his obligation to pay taxes on income earned from his image rights.

Messi’s tax fraud trial in June last year took place against a backdrop of simmering voter anger over steep cuts to health and social spending, as the government struggles to bring Spain’s public deficit down.
