Jessica Storer

Facebook

Jessica Storer, 29, is a former substitute teacher in Ohio who was sentenced to two years in prison on Monday after admitted to having sex with an 18-year-old student who her husband supplied with alcohol.

What Happened?

Jessica had sex with the student inside of the Pandora home she shared with her husband, Derrick, 33, after they invited a group of students to come over last year. Judge Randall Basinger sentenced the mother-of-two to two years in prison Monday after she plead guilty at a previous hearing to sexual battery.

LimaOnline.com reports that a letter from the victim was read in court where the student said that he has attempted suicide, been harassed at Pandora Gilboa High School, been bullied online and is the subject of gossip by adults since the incident.

“I should have been able to trust her,” he added. “I’m trying to get my life together.

“Jessica Storer has really made the last six months a living hell for me. I hate it and I hated myself for doing it.”

The victim’s father also addressed the court about his son’s suicide attempt, saying: “He is trying to make his way out of this. Our son is going to have to live with this for the rest of his life.”

The student’s statement said Storer manipulated him when he opened up to her about a bad breakup he was going through. Storer, who was a substitute teacher through the Putnam County Educational Service Center, was interviewed by police on December 13 after officers were notified the day before. The 18-year-old said he was given alcohol before having sex with Storer and sleeping over.

Storer was arrested on December 21 after admitting to having had sex with him.

She told Judge Randall Basinger that the teen helped himself to the alcohol inside her home.

“The sexual relationship between the 18-year-old and I was a one-time thing,” she told the judge.

“I accept full responsibility for him drinking and for not saying no. I do feel it was consensual. It was not forced. That’s where I came in saying this should be between my husband and I, my priest and God.”

Prior to sentencing, Storer asked Basinger to take into account her mental health as she claimed she was taking medication for bipolar disorder and depression. Her husband pleaded guilty to multiple counts of first-degree misdemeanor furnishing alcohol to a minor in April.

The 33-year-old father-of-two faces up to 18 months in jail.

Johnny Manziel Net Worth 2017: How Much Is Johnny Football Worth Right Now

Johnny Manziel…what can we say about him that hasn’t already been said, written, tweeted and GIFed? Probably not much, yet the lightning rod remains a source of intrigue among football fans. He may be unemployed, but he’s not uninteresting. However, Johnny Football hasn’t really leveraged his fame for any major post-football opportunities. This leads us to question how he’s funding his booze and coke-fueled lifestyle.

Johnny Manziel’s Net Worth as of 2017: $4 Million

Despite Manziel’s on-field disadvantages, this number could’ve have risen much higher had he gotten his head on straight. For now, let’s take a look at how he wound up here.

2007-2010: High School

The entertaining anything-can-happen Johnny Manziel we came to love watching on the field first came into existence at Tivy High School. Manziel started under center for two and a half seasons in high school, posting gaudy stats for the Antlers. Overall, he threw for 7,500 yards and 75 tuddies while also running for 4,038 yards and 78 scores.

In 2010, Manziel’s senior season, he threw for 3,609 yards, 45 TDs against just 5 INTs while running for 1,674 yards and 30 scores. Yeah, he balled hard.

That same year, Manziel was named a Parade All-American and committed to play his college ball at Texas A&M.

2011-2013: College

In 2011, Manziel redshirted at A&M but quickly made his presence known during an all-world 2012 season. Thanks to his improvisational style of play and ballsy on-field tendencies, Manziel became THE sports story of the year en route to becoming the first freshman to ever win the Heisman Trophy.

Johnny Football threw for 3,706 yards, 26 TDs and 9 INTs while running for 1,410 yards and 21 TDs. Simply put, it was electric. During his sophomore season, Manziel totaled 4,873 yards and 46 touchdowns before declaring for the 2014 NFL Draft.

2014-2016: NFL

The Cleveland Browns selected Manziel with the 22nd overall pick in the 2014 NFL Draft. Concerns about his off-field behavior and size disadvantages caused him to slide in the draft and he ended up signing a four-year deal worth $8.25 million. This included a $4.3 million signing bonus and $6.7 million guaranteed. At the time, Manziel also signed endorsement deals with Nike and other major sponsors.

He earned a $420,000 base salary in 2014 and a $794,000 base salary in 2015. However, Manziel struggled both on and off the field. In 14 career games, Manziel completed just 57% of his passes while throwing for 1,675 yards with 7 TDs against 7 picks. He also ran for 259 yards and one score. His professional career also saw a stint in rehab, numerous late-night party photos and videos and a handful of questionable comments to the media.

In 2016, the Browns cut Manziel and he lost out on $2.173 million in guaranteed money as it was voided before Cleveland released him. According to his contract, guaranteed money could be voided if Manziel got in trouble for any of the following reasons: “A suspension imposed by the league under any policy; a suspension imposed by the team; failure or refusal to report, practice, or play; or leaving the team without prior written consent.”

2016 – Present

Manziel is not on an NFL roster as of this writing and has been released by the marketing agency LRMR, agents Erik Burkhardt and Drew Rosenhaus and nearly all of his sponsorships.

However, Manziel comes from a very wealthy family. His grandfather, Bobby Joe Manziel, made a killing after striking oil in the 1930s, and his parents have been successful as well. Michelle Manziel has enjoyed a well-respected career in real estate while Paul Manziel’s home building and car selling business ventures have thrived.

Maybe Johnny Football is just waiting for that trust fund to kick in.

The Rock & Mark Zuckerberg Have Better Odds To Be The Next President Than Most Politicians

I’ve LONG been banging on the ‘Rock For President 2020’ drum, loudly and proudly.

Here’s something I wrote back in 2016:

I whole heartedly believe The Rock is capable of being The President of The United States. I mean, hell, the Republican party has already handed the nomination to someone completely unqualified, so throw that argument out the window. Even though The Rock has no political experience, at least he seems like a genuinely decent and caring human being, unlike Donald Trump.

The Rock is also the definition of the American dream. Famously rising from poverty, The Rock now own’s his own production company. That company, called “Seven Bucks Production”, is about a moment in time when The Rock only had $7 in his pocket.

And it’s not like this in uncharted territory, as an actor has been our President before. In fact, that President, Ronald Regan, is considered one of the greatest in our nation’s history. Plus, just imagine other leaders of the world having to shake hands with President Johnson. They would respect him more than Trump or Hillary, that’s for sure.

Now here we are a year later, and this whole ‘Rock For President’ thing has gained some serious steam. The Rock has addressed it multiple times, acknowledging that it’s something he has put serious thought into over the last year.

Now, the idea of The People’s Champ becoming the People’s President has gained so much traction that Vegas sports books have begun taking bets on The Rock becoming the next President.

via Mashable:

True to form, Vegas is already all over it as sportsbook Bovada has updated its odds on who will win the 2020 presidential election. While Trump is still the overall favorite, there are some rather unconventional names that have better odds than a lot of familiar political names. The Rock, for instance, comes in at 66-1 (if you bet $100, you win $6,600). Sure, those feel like long odds. After all, Oprah Winfrey, who shot down rumors she would run for president, comes in at 55-1.

But The Rock, who recently said he’d be open to running, still outranks some notable political 2016 names like Martin O’Malley, Rand Paul, and Jeb Bush — yes, poor ol’ Jeb — who all sit at 80-1. And The People’s Champion also out-distances 2016’s attempted third-party spoilers Jill Stein (300-1) and Gary Johnson (500-1).

The Zuck weighs in at 33-1, which puts him alongside some actual contenders like Republican Senator Marco Rubio, Democratic Senators Kamala Harris and Tim Kaine, and New York gajillionaire Michael Bloomberg, who all share 33-1 odds. Facebook’s Zeus also gets better odds than Republican Senator Ted Cruz (40-1), UN Ambassador Nicki Haley (40-1), Mitt Romney (60-1) and Ohio governor John Kasich (60-1).

At this point, I would be surprised if The Rock didn’t run for President. If it’s not in 2020, it will certainly be in 2024.

What is key for a potential Rock campaign is the fact that he’s been smart enough to never paint himself into a political corner. Other than the fact that he spoke at the 2000 Republican National Convention, supports the troops, and does not support Trump’s immigration ban, not much else is known about The Rock’s political leanings. He already has the built-in likability — seriously, who doesn’t love The Rock — so if he’s able to build a strong campaign, The Rock would have a legitimate chance at winning.

If you ask me, 66/1 is the steal of the century. Get those odds while they’re hot.

This Oxford Student Stabbed Her Tinder Lover And May Not Even Get Any Jail Time

Lavinia Woodward, an “extraordinary” Oxford University student who stabbed her Tinder date with a bread-knife, could be spared jail time after a judge said a custodial sentence would damage her future career as a heart surgeon.

What Happened?

Woodward, 24, swiped at her boyfriend with the blade before stabbing him in the leg. She then threw a laptop, a glass and a jam jar at him during a drink and drug-fueled argument at Christ Church college, Oxford.

Woodward, who currently resides in Milan, Italy, previously admitted unlawful wounding at an earlier hearing. Judge Ian Pringle said the offense typically results in prison time, but he decided to delay sentencing and assigned her a restraining order to stay drug-free and not to re-offend.

Pringle told the court: “It seems to me that if this was a one-off, a complete one-off, to prevent this extraordinary able young lady from not following her long-held desire to enter the profession she wishes to, would be a sentence which would be too severe.

“What you did will never, I know, leave you but it was pretty awful, and normally it would attract a custodial sentence, whether it is immediate or suspended.”

Prosecutor Cathy Olliver said that Woodward and her ex met online via a popular dating app and at the time of the attack, which took place on September 30, her behavior had “deteriorated.”

The victim called Woodward’s mother on Skype, which prompted Woodward her punch him in the face before assaulting him with the knife. In defense, James Sturman QC said his client’s dreams of becoming a surgeon were “almost impossible” as her conviction would have to be disclosed.

Struman argued that Woodward had had a “very troubled life,” struggled with drug addiction and even been abused by a former ex.

Lavinia Woodward is a 24-year-old student at Oxford University who is studying to become a heart surgeon. On September 30, she got into a fight with her boyfriend and punched him in the face, stabbed him in the leg and threw objects at him. Despite this, she could be spared jail time as a judge said it would damage her potential career.

Woodward will be sentenced on September 25.

Are Your Netflix Prices About To Go Up?

When it comes to streaming services, Netflix still far outpaces the competition. Its 98 million worldwide subscribers dwarfs that of Hulu (12 million), Amazon Prime Video (~21 million) and HBO Now (2 million domestic). Throw in the increased emphasis on cord-cutting and Netflix’s growing library of original content and it’s easy to see how the streaming service can continue its reign on top for the foreseeable future. But now that Netflix has settled in comfortably to its dominant position, the company may begin to test just how much you really want to see the new seasons of, say, Orange is the New Black and Stranger Things.

The Australian reported – and Netflix confirmed – that down under is being used as a testing ground for price hikes. According to the report, the streaming service has upped basic service from $8.99 per month to $9.99, the standard service from $11.99 to $13.99 and the premium service from $14.99 to $17.99. However, The Australian was incorrect, according to Netflix, when it categorized this rate increase as a new “weekend surging” model. No one, including Australians, will have to pony up extra cash for enrolling in a Netflix plan on the weekend.

Sadly, the streaming service is exploring the willingness of customers to stomach another price increase with these Australian tests. The company has learned from its past mistakes in this department, most notably the disastrous 2011 rollout of the short-lived DVD-only service Qwikster and a potential 60 percent rate rise for some customers. In response, customers cancelled their subscriptions en masse, flushing Netflix stock right down the drain along with it. At the time, Netflix was getting a bit too big for its britches. The streaming service’s first original series, House of Cards, didn’t premiere until 2013 and its small screen Marvel empire along with its other addictive originals were still on the deep horizon. Basically, they needed to slow their roll.

But just four years later, Netflix had become a powerhouse; the Golden State Warriors to everyone else’s Philadelphia 76ers. In 2015, the company rolled out a gentle one dollar price increase to the general acceptance of most subscribers. It helped that binge-watching had suddenly become A Thing and that Blockbuster officially folded in 2013.

Consider Netflix’s Australian experiment a taste-test as they try to gauge user-response for another uptick in fees. Fortune muses that the company may be focusing on Australia because of a “recent decision to extend the federal government’s 10 percent goods and services tax to cover ‘intangible supplies,’ including digital content and streaming services like Netflix. Nicknamed the ‘Netflix Tax,’ the extended tax will start affecting companies like Netflix when it goes into effect on July 1.”

After assuring customers that the weekend surge pricing is nowhere near reality, Netflix went on to explain in an emailed statement to Fortune: “We continuously test new things at Netflix and these tests typically vary in length of time. In this case, we are testing slightly different price points to better understand how consumers value Netflix. Not everyone will see this test and we may not ever offer it generally.” The key word there being “may” not.

The truth of the matter is that Netflix is closing in on the top of the food chain in television’s carnivorous ecosystem. It has provided a steadily improving product for low-cost for years while gradually becoming more and more entrenched in pop culture. Hell, the company is even synonymous with banging now. At this point, Netflix would be foolish not to start jacking up the price.

Silicon Valley Start-Up Sued For Being ‘Boys Club’ Where Employees ‘Did Drugs’& Had A ‘Sex Room’

Elizabeth Scott, a female former employee at the Silicon Valley start-up UploadVR, is suing the company claiming that she was forced to deal with a hostile work environment and gender discrimination during her time with the company.

Scott claims in court papers that UploadVR created a ‘boy’s club’ environment where there was a designated ‘kink room’ where male employees had ‘sexual intercourse’ at work, leaving behind ‘underwear’ and ‘condom wrappers.’

She is also alleging that male employees would ‘micro-dose’ on drugs throughout the day.

Scott filed her complaint on May 8 in the Superior Court of California, County of San Francisco. The complaint describes UploadVR as plagued by “rampant sexual behavior and focus, creating an unbearable environment for Plaintiff and other female employees.”

via The Verge:

“Defendants purposefully and expressly created a ‘boy’s club’ environment at work, focused on sex and degrading women, including female employees,” the suit goes on to say. The crux of the complaint appears to be the parties UploadVR has hosted at its office in which Mason and Freeman “would frequently talk about much sex they were going to have at each party and how many girls they were going to have sex with.” UploadVR also allegedly has a “kink room” with a bed in its office designed solely for this purpose.

The suit also describes a number of other troubling behaviors at the company that created a hostile and toxic working environment. Those allegedly include parties in which employees invited strippers and prostitutes, and situations in which male employees kicked female employees out of rooms so they could use the spaces for sexual intercourse with party attendees. The suit also alleges widespread discrimination that resulted in male employees being compensated more than female employees, and female employees not being reimbursed for business expenses.

Despite its name, UploadVR does not produce virtual reality games, nor does it work on VR hardware. Instead, UploadVR operates a co-working space in San Francisco and runs training courses for prospective developers.

Furthermore, they also run a news website dedicated to the industry and hosts VR-related events and parties in partnership with other tech companies.

UploadVR co-founders Will Mason and Taylor Freeman released a statement on the lawsuit:

“We cannot comment directly on any pending litigation. What we want to express is that our employees are our greatest asset and the sole reason for the success of this company,” the two said in a statement. “We are committed to creating a positive community in VR/AR as well as within our company culture and will work to further develop that mission in the future. We are confident that the true nature of how we treat our employees and how we operate as leaders will shine through this unfortunate situation and confirm that these allegations are entirely without merit.”

Camille Kostek Photos: Must-See Pictures Of Rob Gronkowski’s Girlfriend

New England Patriots star tight end Rob Gronkowski was spotted this weekend with his on-again, off-again girlfriend Camille Kostek. The couple posted photos and videos as they celebrated in the wedding of Gronkowski’s friend Orlando Vargas in Arizona over the weekend.

Gronk, one of the NFL’s notorious partiers, was also celebrating his 28th birthday, which helps to explain how his shirt came off by the end of the night.

Kostek, a former Patriots cheerleader herself, posted a boomerang video of the shirtless Gronkowski with the caption “It gets hot on the dance floor.”

The weekend’s festivities also saw Gronkowski’s friends presenting him with a birthday cake and he was filmed blowing out the candles. His buddy Vargas came up behind Gronk and began to blow out the candles while other groomsman gathered around, including his brother Christopher.

Gronk also shared a photo of he and Kostek, suggesting the couple were very much back together.

Despite Gronk’s party-antics and jovial personality, he has long strived to keep his private life from the media. This weekend was a rare peek into Gronk’s world when he’s not playing entirely for the cameras.

He and Kostek first began dating two years ago. She has not been as shy as Gronkowski to publicize their relationship, often posting pictures of them together. She left the cheerleading squad after the 2015 season, but has clearly stayed in touched with Gronk.

It’s easy to see why Gronkowski has kept tabs on her as well. Kostek is a certified dime and to celebrate her amazing hotness, we’ve put together a gallery of some of her best Instagram photos. Please enjoy.

Ellie Kemper Photos: Must-See Pictures Of ‘Kimmy Schmidt’ Star

Ellie Kemper is awesome and I mean really awesome. I don’t just say that because she’s a remarkably attractive red head (though that helps, obviously). Really, I say it because she’s both hilarious and talented and because she comes across as the nicest, most personable celebrity of all time in every one of her interviews. I guess it makes sense given her grounded upbringing.

Kemper was born in Kansas City Missouri as the second of four children. Though she comes from a wealthy family, her childhood was remarkably normal and, dare I say it, healthy. She moved to St. Louis when she was five, developed an interest in theater and comedy and stuck with it. She graduated from Princeton University and Worcester College, Oxford. So, yeah, she’s a smarty pants.

She made her professional debut in 2003 and continued her improv work. In 2009, Kemper was named one of Variety magazine’s “10 Comics to Watch.” Her first real break came in 2009 when she was cast in a supporting role in The Office. But today, Kemper is best known for her lead role in the Tina Fey-created Netflix comedy Unbreakable Kimmy Schmidt. Her performance on the show has received widespread praise and she was nominated for the Screen Actors Guild Award for Outstanding Performance by a Female Actor in a Comedy Series in 2015 and an Emmy in 2016 for her performance.

The third season of Unbreakable Kimmy Schmidt will become available on May 19. But if you can’t wait that long to get your Kemper fix, we’ve put together a great gallery of the cute actress’ best photos. Check it out above.

Hey, psst, you…Yeah, you. Do you want to hear Hollywood A-listers and all around gorgeous people such as Margot Robbie, Charlize Theron, Alicia Vikander, Kristin Wiig and Saoirse Ronan talk about their favorite sex scenes in movie history? Pshh, what am I saying, of course you do!

There are plenty of golden nuggets from these clips, including Theron talking about a girl’s hand being on the guys “bits.” Only someone that gorgeous could get away with referring to it as “bits.”

Margot Robbie discussing the sex scene in True Romance is also a clear winner. I could listen to her read off her grocery list and be milked dry.

They also threw in Seth Rogen and Bryan Cranston talking about their favorite sex scenes too, which was fine I guess. I mean, yeah these guys are dope and Cranston’s story was actually pretty good. But, like, c’mon…You know why we’re here.

Check all of the stories out below…and be sure to crack a window or something. It’s getting hot in here.

Anaheim Ducks vs. Nashville Predators Game 3 Live Steam: How To Watch NHL Playoff Game Online

The Ducks managed to rally from behind twice in game two against the Predators. Nashville was able to get a lead twice in the game, but Anaheim was not bowing out so soon and they were able to tie the game up, eventually winning. This series has proven that both teams can put the puck in the net and both are worthy to make it to the Stanley Cup Finals, but only one team can advance, so who will it be?

Losing in overtime during game one is never fun, but the Ducks were not going to head to Nashville 0-2 in the hole. Evening out the series shows that the Ducks are not going to let the Predators walk all over them like they did with the Blackhawks and Blues. After a tough series with the Oilers, this team seems to be back on track and has regained the prowess they had in the regular season. It is still too early to tell which team has the edge so game three might bring out the true colors of the Anaheim Ducks. They might get their feathers ruffled along the way, but the Ducks have the determination to not exit their conference finals empty-handed.

The Predators came at the Ducks hard and it did not go their way this time around. After coughing up a lead twice in game two, the Predators are going to have to reevaluate their defense and gameplay for game three. They were able to play on par with the Ducks but just seemed to run out of gas near the end of the third period. Instead of tying the game up and pushing it to another overtime, the Predators played sloppily and allowed an empty-net goal. Nashville is looking to take back their series lead, as they have the home crowd to cheer them on. The Predators need to resharpen their fangs and sink their claws into the Ducks if they want to continue on in the playoffs.

One team is looking to take the series lead, so who will it be? Can the Ducks tame the Predators or will Nashville show Anaheim who truly is at the top of the food chain? Check below to see how you can watch all the action and excitement in game two.

NBA Draft Lottery 2017: Mock Draft Picks & Expert Projections

$
0
0

Given the plethora of talent within college basketball this past season, NBA franchises that are eligible for the lottery will look to acquire the next prominent super star. While the lottery is almost upon us, the big name players have been known for a few months now and the first overall pick could be any number of these prospective players. Like most draft scenarios, teams will have to be tactful in selecting either the best player available or filling a crucial need to take the next vital step towards winning.

1. Boston Celtics: Markelle Fultz, PG, Washington.
Chances of Obtaining First Pick: 25%

While this picks technically belongs to the Brooklyn Nets, it was traded away a few years ago for Kevin Garnett and Paul Pierce. As of now, that trade appears to have been a stroke of genius as the Celtics will once again be in a position to take best player available. Although the defensive capabilities and length of Josh Jackson would be a great fit here, the Celtics would be hard pressed to pass on Markelle Fultz.

A fantastic shot creator and ball facilitator, Fultz is the ultimate offensive weapon. His unselfishness as a passer makes him the ideal team player who can effectively diagnose any defensive scheme. What makes him such an intriguing fit for the Celtics is his ability to play alongside another talented ball handler in Isaiah Thomas. Given how fluid and determined Isaiah Thomas is as the point man for the Celtics, Fultz could be a tremendous asset in creating one of most dynamic offenses in basketball. While some pundits question Fultz’s effort level, his natural talent and feel for the game make him an exciting and easy choice here.

2. Phoenix Suns: Lonzo Ball, PG, UCLA.
Chances of Obtaining First Pick: 19.9%

Despite having promising and deep guard play already, the Phoenix Suns will nevertheless view Lonzo Ball as a must have talent. With fantastic length and proven efficiency in transition, Ball has the skill set to contribute right away in a fast paced NBA. Defensively, Ball has the vigilance to force turnovers and the tenacity to play the defensive glass. The only downside to Ball’s game is his lack of physicality. He struggles to make plays in the paint, and is only consistent at getting to the basket when he builds up momentum in transition. Still, Ball is arguably the smartest and most refined athlete in the draft. As he continues to grow and mature, Ball has the potential to become one of the most essential pieces to any NBA franchise.

3. Los Angeles Lakers: Josh Jackson, SG/SF, Kansas.
Chances of Obtaining First Pick: 15.6%

Assuming the Lakers do not fall out of the top three in the lottery and lose this pick to the 76ers, they will have some great options to flesh out their young roster. While there are several great pure shooting guards to select from, having a competitive hybrid forward in Josh Jackson would be the ideal fit. Jackson is a sensational two way player who is a absolute natural at shutting down defensive players. Although he may not be the most intriguing forward in terms of length, his anticipation skills and fearlessness more than make up for his physical shortcomings. His abilities as a shooter are streaky at times, but he was able to become a reliable catch and shoot player during the latter half of the college basketball season. If Jackson can work on his funky shooting mechanics, the Lakers will be getting a stout defensive player with a very high athletic ceiling.

4. Philadelphia 76ers: Malik Monk, SG, Kentucky.
Chances of Obtaining First Pick: 11.9%

Given how mightily the 76ers struggled on both defense and offense last season, this team could easily be content with taking the best player available. However, the prolific scoring ability of Malik Monk will be too hard to pass on. Arguably one of the most efficient scorers in college, Monk’s prowess as a jump shooter was what allowed him to score in bunches at Kentucky. Monk’s tremendous leaping ability is essential in him being able to hit shots from the perimeter, making him an exciting and aggressive contributor. While Monk will have to develop some independence in terms of creating his own shooting opportunities, his exceptional athleticism and ability as a shooter will make him a coveted prospect for the 76ers if he is available.

5. Orlando Magic: Jayson Tatum, SF, Duke.
Chances of Obtaining First Pick: 8.8%

Considering how dismal the Magic were on both defense and offense last year, it’s difficult to prognosticate which gifted prospect would fit their situation the best. However, Jayson Tatum is one of the most versatile players in the draft and can contribute right away as a consistent offensive threat. Tatum’s ability to make shots one on one against any defender shows a level of confidence that the Magic desperately need. His tremendous foot work and impressive dribbling will always keep opposing defenders on their heels. When Tatum has time on offense, he is extremely effective as a lights out perimeter shooter. While there is some concern about his overall strength, his exceptional form and intelligence will give Tatum the edge he needs to succeed at the next level.

6. Minnesota Timberwolves: Jonathan Isaac, SF/PF, Florida State.
Chances of Obtaining First Pick: 5.3%

Assuming the Timberwolves do not trade this pick, they would do well to take a lengthy defensive talent in Jonathon Isaac. Also a intriguing offensive weapon and effective rebounder, Isaac has the potential to be sensational on both offense and defense. He has the size and fluidity to play either forward position and has the quickness to get down the floor on fast break plays. Playing on the wing, Isaac can quickly move from the perimeter to the paint for an easy lay up. However, while Isaac can score consistently, he needs to work on his accuracy from beyond the perimeter to be a great forward in the NBA. With proper coaching, Isaac could become one of the more exciting two way players in the NBA.

7. New York Knicks: De’Aaron Fox, PG, Kentucky.
Chances of Obtaining First Pick: 5.3%

From his immense size to his sheer quickness, De’Aaron is arguably the most explosive point guard in this draft when healthy. Although he has a wiry frame, Fox handles contact well for his size and his quickness allows him to blow past defenders so as to avoid any serious contact. While Fox’s insatiable need to make big plays can be to his detriment at times, his unconventional nature to find unique angles to get the ball to his teammates is something that could serve him well at the next level if fine tuned. While Fox needs to get stronger to be a viable NBA player, he has all the potential and current skills to be a franchise player.

8. Sacramento Kings: Dennis Smith, PG, NC State.
Chances of Obtaining First Pick: 2.8%

Given the lack of continuity the Kings have had at point guard, it seems logical that the discombobulated organization would select an all around productive talent in Dennis Smith. For any defender that has to contend with Smith, it will be an arduous task to keep the rookie from getting to the basket. His aggressiveness will allow Smith to get to the free throw line frequently where he excelled in college. Smith’s versatility when it comes to changing speeds will make it especially difficult for any opposing head coach to find a weakness in his game. Although Smith is great as an individual athlete, he needs to be more vocal on the floor while looking to pass the ball more frequently. If Smith can work on his leadership abilities, he has all the physical tools to be a fearless scorer and ball facilitator.

9. Dallas Mavericks: Frank Ntilikina, PG, France.
Chances of Obtaining First Pick: 1.7%

As the Mavericks currently lack a clear cut starting point guard on the roster, the Mavericks could feasibly take a promising international player in Ntilikina. Although he has a light frame now, Ntilikina has the maturity and basketball IQ to be effective in the NBA. He has a great feel for the pace of the game and as a result is a gifted passer. He can also create his own mid range jump shot and, while not consistent as a three point shooter yet, he has been working to improve this facet of his game. Although Ntilikina needs to develop more confidence when it comes shooting rather than passing, his size and intangibles make him both a promising point guard and an even better leader.

10. Sacramento Kings (Via New Orleans Pelicans): Zach Collins, C, Gonzaga.
Chances of Obtaining First Pick: 1.1%

If the Kings can acquire a promising point guard with the eighth pick, they may have a chance of selecting the most talented big man in the draft with the tenth pick. Between his immense size and superb mobility for a center, Zach Collins has the potential to become the scoring threat that Demarcus Cousins was with the Kings. He can play consistently in the post and has a nice mid range jump shot that gives him a unique offensive skill set for a center. On top of his physical abilities, Collins is a fiery competitor who isn’t afraid to initiate contact and get to the free throw line. Although there is some concern regarding his lack of playing time in college (backed up Przemek Karnowski at Gonzaga), Collins is already a well developed athlete with fantastic intangibles.

11. Charlotte Hornets: TJ Leaf, PF, UCLA.
Chances of Obtaining First Pick: 0.8%

While the Hornets were a all-around solid team statistically last season, they need another playmaking forward if they want to make a serious push for the postseason in 2018. Enter TJ Leaf. An extremely versatile offensive weapon that can play inside and out, Leaf is an ideal stretch forward. Although not the most athletic prospect in the draft, Leaf’s instincts and decision making skills are exceptional. As a result, Leaf made a name for himself in college as being a clutch player, especially when playing in some of the more intimidating environments in college basketball. Although Leaf needs to work on his strength to match his natural feel for the game, he has the mental make up and versatility to be a great NBA talent.

12. Detroit Pistons: Jarrett Allen, C, Texas.
Chances of Obtaining First Pick: 0.7%

Despite being one of the best defensive teams in the NBA, the Detroit Pistons only managed to compile a 37-45 record. At 6’10” and 235 lbs, Jarrett Allen is a rebounding machine that has the hands to catch incoming passes for either a dunk or layup. While Allen is hardly known for his flashy offensive output, he has an underrated shooting touch. This gives him the advantage of being a more unpredictable on the offensive end, considering most bigs rely on sheer athleticism to get buckets. Although Allen does not have the muscle to contend with the more physical centers yet, his frame will allow him to fill out over time and become truly formidable. While he may lack girth and lateral speed right now, his skills as a rebounder and underrated offensive capabilities will allow him to flourish in the NBA sooner rather than later.

13. Denver Nuggets: Hamidou Diallo, SG, Kentucky.
Chances of Obtaining First Pick: 0.6%

While the Nuggets have several versatile scorers on the their roster, none have the raw talent that Hamidou Diallo brings to the table. Going down the check list when evaluating a ideal shooting guard, Diallo meets nearly every criteria. Great speed? Absolutely. Effective in transition and half court? He’s a natural. Confident when it comes to crashing the glass? This kid is absolutely fearless. Now, with all of that being said, Diallo has two crucial areas that need a lot of improvement: consistency and discipline. Although Diallo’s unshakeable confidence is great, it can get him into trouble when he tries to drive to the basket. He relies more on his athleticism than his eyes as he attempts to out jump defenders rather than properly evaluating a situation before going all in. Still, even being as raw as he is, Diallo is a competitor that in the right system can excel and develop into a dynamic shooting guard.

14. Miami Heat: Justin Jackson, SF, North Carolina.
Chances of Obtaining First Pick: 0.5%

Although the Heat were wildly inconsistent throughout the regular season, there was one constant, which was being an efficient rebounding and defensive team. Therefore, it makes sense that the Heat would want to acquire a player that can maintain those respective attributes while giving them a nice offensive boost. With an already polished offensive skill set, Justin Jackson is a mature athlete with a well developed shooting stroke. Whether from mid range or outside the perimeter, Jackson is a fantastic spot up shooter that quickly releases the ball with impressive accuracy. His passing abilities are nearly as intriguing as his prowess as a shooter. His vision and size allow him to see the entire court, which gives him a distinct advantage over most small forwards who are unable to make the crucial passing plays that he can. While he may not be the biggest, toughest or most athletic prospect in the draft, his refined skill set on both sides of the court will give him a distinct mental edge over some of the rawer rookies in this class.

NBA Lottery 2017: Draft Mock, Predictions & Expert Picks

$

0

With the NBA Draft Lottery tonight, 14 teams will find out where they will be picking in the June NBA Draft. As the ping-pong balls fall, teams will begin to see their future take shape and can build their big board with the prospects that will help their team. Picks can change hands based on the lottery, and teams will be watching closely.  Does each team really know what is best for them? Will they pick the best available player or the player that fits best into the system? Let’s look at the areas of need and best fits for each of the 14 lottery teams.

1.Boston Celtics (From the Brooklyn Nets- 25% Chance at #1 pick)

Needs: Wing, Forward
It’s rare that a team in the conference finals also has a top lottery pick. Thanks to their trade with the Nets, the Celtics should be able to build on what is already a good team with a ton of young depth. Picking up a young wing for more athleticism could help, or replacing Amir Johnson with a young star could make this team a threat for years to come.

Best Fit: Josh Jackson or Jayson Tatum
Both wings have the chance to be playmakers on the talented Boston team

Who They Will Take: Markelle Fultz
It will be nearly impossible to pass on his talent, and he will have time to develop before he is called upon for a bigger role.

2. Phoenix Suns (19.9% Chance at #1 Pick)

Needs: Big Man
The Suns have a ton of talent in their backcourt, and sometimes have trouble getting all their guards playing time. They need more balance up front to put next to Marquese Chriss and Alex Len. Or they can just pick the best player available and try to work him in.

Best Fit: Jonathan Isaac, Jayson Tatum
Both these players will help in an area of need, but they are not the best still on the board.

Who They Will Take: Lonzo Ball
Hard to pass up the talent, and his skill set will add to an already standout backcourt.

3. Los Angeles Lakers (15.6% Chance at #1 Pick)

Needs: Forward, Center
While all the hype is around Lonzo Ball and his place as the new Magic Johnson for the Lakers, the truth is the Lakers have bigger holes to fill. They could pick best available (which probably will be a guard and maybe Lonzo Ball), or they could try to fix their front line to help out next to Julius Randle and a hopefully stronger Brandon Ingram. The Lakers lose this pick to the 76ers if it falls outside the top three so they will be watching the ping pong balls very carefully.

Best Fit: Jayson Tatum, Josh Jackson
Both athletic wings will supplement Ingram’s game

Who They Will Take:
Should not try to over think it. Josh Jackson will be a big boost to their team.

4. Philadelphia 76ers (11.9% Chance at #1 Pick)

Needs: Guard, Health
If the 76ers get their draft pick to appear in a game this year, that should be an accomplishment. They have been unable to prosper off of their young talent, and hopefully, their waiting can end this year. Add more talent at guard, see what Ben Simmons can do, get Joel Embiid healthy, and fight your way to the eight seed. Sounds easy enough. The 76ers can swap their pick with the Kings if the Kings fall in the top-10.

Best Fit: De’Aaron Fox, Malik Monk
Both these guards are playmakers and the 76ers will have to decide if they want Fox’s athleticism or Monk’s scoring ability.

Who They Will Take: De’Aaron Fox’s athleticism at a position of great need is too much to pass up

5. Orlando Magic (8.8% Chance at #1 Pick)

Needs: Forward
Some of the Magic’s best assets have left in the last few years, and they are in serious rebuilding mode. While some of the pieces are nice, players like Aaron Gordon and Elfrid Payton are not enough to carry a team. Upgrading at small forward if Jeff Green leaves as a free agent and pushing Gordon at power forward should help make the team a bit more competitive.

Best Fit: Jayson Tatum, Jonathan Isaac
These are the two best forwards, and should not fall much further

Who They Will Take: Jayson Tatum
Put him at either forward position and he will add a scoring boost they desperately need

6. Minnesota Timberwolves (5.3% Chance at #1 Pick)

Needs: Guard
Nobody seems to do less with more than the Minnesota Timberwolves. They have two of the best young players in the league with Andrew Wiggins and Karl Anthony-Towns and have been amassing young assets for the last few years. Point guard depth is a problem behind Ricky Rubio, and shooting guard needs to be shored up as Zach LaVine returns from injury.

Best Fit: Malik Monk, Dennis Smith Jr.
Both of these guards will help immediately, and Smith has top level athleticism.

Who They Will Take: Malik Monk will help add scoring, and they also do not need to add to the logjam at point guard.

7. New York Knicks (5.3% Chance at #1 Pick)

Needs: Point Guard, Small Forward
If Phil Jackson gets his way, Carmel Anthony will not be a Knick next season. His production needs to be replaced somehow. The Knicks also need to sure up the point guard spot and build around Kristaps Porzingis and not around Derrick Rose’s knees.

Best Fit: Dennis Smith Jr., Jonathan Isaac
The Knicks would be thrilled if Tatum fell this far, but will have to decide if forward or guard is a more pressing need.

Who They Will Take: Dennis Smith Jr.
The Knicks need to get younger and faster and Smith should help with that at a position of great need.

8. Sacramento Kings (2.8% Chance at #1 Pick)

Needs: Power Forward
After trading Demarcus Cousins and seemingly getting nothing in return, the Kings got good production from Buddy Hield. If they can find some help inside, especially some offense to complement Willie Cauley-Stein, the trade will not look nearly as one-sided

Best Fit: Jonathan Isaac, Lauri Markkanen
Both of these forwards fit in nicely and will provide offense on the front line

Who They Will Take: Jonathan Isaac
Isaac showed more athleticism in college and will help the Kings run fast as an athletic stretch-four

9. Dallas Mavericks (1.7% Chance at #1 Pick)

Needs: Power Forward, Point Guard
With Dirk Nowitzki retiring soon, the Mavericks would be best served to try to find his replacements. Additionally, after getting rid of Deron Williams, the Mavs should try to sure up point guard depth and defense.

Best Fit: Lauri Markkanen, Frank Ntilikina, Zach Collins
The Mavs have a bunch of options here, but replacing Nowitzki should be a first priority.

Who They Will Take: Lauri Markkanen
Take one foreign-born, outside shooting, 7-footer and replace him with another. Easy enough.

10. New Orleans Pelicans (1.1% Chance at #1 Pick)

Needs: Wing Player
The inside is set for the Pelicans after their midseason acquisition of Demarcus Cousins. Unfortunately, the wing and outside shooting remain a problem for the team. Picking up a dead-eye from distance could be the missing piece for this talented team. This pick is likely going to the Kings, however, unless the Pelicans land in the top three.

Best Fit: Justin Jackson, OG Anunoby
Both wing players bring something different to the table, but both have lottery talent.

Who They Will Take: OG Anunoby
Anunoby provides the athleticism and versatility that the modern NBA craves, and if he continues to develop a three-point shot, he will be very valuable in the league.

11. Charlotte Hornets (0.8% Chance at #1 Pick)

Needs: Forward, Center
Michael Kidd-Gilchrist has been solid but unspectacular and getting a young small forward to push him would help the Hornets. Additionally, another big man will add some depth up front and hopefully contribute defensively.

Best Fit: Zach Collins, Jarrett Allen, Harry Giles
All three big men can offer different things, and the Hornets will have a tough decision to make.

Who They Will Take: Harry Giles
The Hornets should have their choice of big men towards the end of the lottery. Giles is a risk with his injury history, but provides the most upside and will continue to improve the Hornets offensively.

12. Detroit Pistons (0.7% Chance at #1 Pick)

Needs: Center, Guard
While Andre Drummond is set as the starter at center, some depth behind him could provide scoring off the bench. With Kentavious Caldwell-Pope set to become a free agent, the Pistons could look to shore up the guard spot and get more scoring off the bench.

Best Fit: Zach Collins, Jarrett Allen,
These two centers will help provide some depth behind Drummond and could even play alongside him

Who They Will Take: Jarrett Allen
He moves a little better than Collins and will help the Pistons if they want to go smaller

13. Denver Nuggets (0.6% Chance at #1 Pick)

Needs: Small Forward, Point Guard
The young pieces are there for the Nuggets, and Nikola Jokic is looking like a franchise cornerstone. Getting younger at small forward will be a goal, and possibly adding depth at point guard if Emmanuel Mudiay is not the answer.

Best Fit: Josh Jackson, Frank Ntilikina
Both players will provide some offensive juice and get good looks thanks to Jokic’s passing

Who They Will Take: Josh Jackson

If the Nuggets trust Mudiay at point guard, they will take Jackson and allow him to contribute immediately off the bench

14. Miami Heat (0.5% Chance at #1 Pick)

Needs: Power Forward, Shooting Guard
With Chris Bosh’s medical situation up in the air, Miami would certainly like to shore up their power forward position. If Dion Waiters decides to go elsewhere in free agency, Miami may also need help at shooting guard

Best Fit: Zach Collins, Ivan Rabb, T.J. Leaf
These three power forwards will help big time in replacing Chris Bosh if Bosh leaves Miami.

Who They Will Take: T.J. Leaf
Rabb may have the best upside, but after his disappointing sophomore year, the Heat will take Leaf and continue to build their identity as a three-point shooting team.
