St. Michael’s Catholic School is on lockdown as Miami police search for a suspect.

What Happened?

Authorities announced at noon that St. Michael’s Catholic School had been put on lockdown as police continue to search for a suspect in the area.

Officers had set up a perimeter in the area of West Flagler and Northwest 4th Street from 27th to 28th Avenues.

According to Miami Police spokeswoman Kenia Fallat, police are searching for someone who bailed out of a stolen car in the area. The lockdown is just a precaution.

No other information was immediately available.

Holly Maniatty is a certified sign language interpreter and also a certified badass baller after her performance at the Festival. Maniatty absolutely crushes the sign-version of Snoop’s take on 50 Cent’s “P.I.M.P.” Watch the video if you don’t believe me.

Maniatty has worked a number of festivals and concerts with popular rappers including the Beastie Boys, Wu-Tan Clan and Killer Mike. So, yeah, her street cred is through the friggin’ roof.

Think about how impossibly hard signing the rapid fire lyrics of hip-hop must be. And to deliver it with such swag? Maniatty is by new hero.

“In order to make the interpretations as authentic as possible so the deaf patron is getting as close to the same experience as the hearing people are getting, I’m using signs that are, you know, indigenous to where that person, you know, grew up, or where they’re from or where they’re living currently,” she said in a radio interview in 2013.

She adds, “It’s a little overwhelming because I don’t think of myself as in front of people. I guess I am in front of a lot of people but I’m always so absorbed in doing a good job—it’s just about the deaf patrons who are there.”

Here’s the problem with these young, tech, millennial ‘entrepreneur’: they have all the intelligence in the world–there’s no denying that–but they’re too ignorant and arrogant to realize that they don’t have the know-how. Just because you know how to code and market, doesn’t mean you know how to organize a highly complicated process such as organizing a music festival, on foreign soil nonetheless.

Then to make matters worse, they don’t realize the consequences their actions have on other people — like these employees that McFarland tells aren’t going to get paid. It’s sickening.

On Friday May 5th, Billy McFarland, the 25-year-old founder of the disastrous Fyre Festival, told his shell-shocked employees that their paychecks covering the past two weeks would not be coming. Nor would he be firing them, a prerequisite for unemployment benefits in most states. Instead, McFarland offered to allow his dozen-or-so employees to stay on in unpaid roles, where they could work to grow the business to a place where they might get paid again.

The meeting, audio of which was obtained by VICE News, wrapped up weeks of uncertainty for the employees of Fyre Media, the company behind Fyre Festival, whose primary job had been building a celebrity and talent booking app the festival was intended to promote. Rapper and Fyre Media co-founder Ja Rule was on the grim conference call, but his role was that of a listener.

Reports of a man armed with a gun prompted a Brampton high school to be placed in lockdown and two other schools to go into hold-and-secure this afternoon.

What Happened?

Peel Regional Police said they received concerned phone calls from members of the public around 2:00 P.M. on Friday regarding a group of men in the Conestoga Drive and Wexford Road area who may have been carrying a gun. This prompted Heart Lake Secondary School to be put on lockdown while Conestoga Public School and Rowntree Montessori Schools went into hold-and-secure.

Uniformed patrol officers and canine units were sent to the scene along with school resource officers. Three men have been taken into custody and a gun has been recovered.

According to police, there have been no injuries and no victims.

The lockdown and hold-and-secures have since been lifted.

This is the second incident involving a gun that Peel Police have responded to today. One officer was arrested by tactical forces after a botched robbery in Brampton earlier this morning. Two other suspects who were involved in the incident are also be searched for.

Tad Cummins, 50, left a letter for his wife Jill, 49, the morning he disappeared with a 15-year-old student, Elizabeth Thomas.

In the letter, Cummins said how sorry he was for leaving but that he would be back.

“I am so sorry,” he wrote. “I just need to clear my mind of all this crap. I am not running away. I’ll be back. Don’t call police they’ll think I ran ’cause I’m guilty and I’m not!'”

A Nashville court hearing revealed the contents of the letter Friday not as Cummins was ordered to remain in custody and was deemed a flight risk. A trial day has not yet been set.

The former health science teacher is facing charges of bringing a minor across state lines for sex and could be sentenced to life in prison.

FBI agent Utley Noble testified during the court hearing that Cummins admitted to authorities of having sex with Thomas most night during the 38 days he was on the run with her.

Cummins reportedly said their sexual relationship began the night after they disappeared on March 13.

Noble also said that Cummins bought an iPad to monitor the media’s coverage of them.

Cummins revealed at the court hearing that he spent $1,500 on a two-seat kayak and that he and Thomas attempted to get to Mexico in it. He allegedly told officers he thought he had been caught when he ran into a law enforcement officer while he was testing out the kayak. But the officer only warned them that the water was rough and gave them tips on the boat before leaving.

From that point on, Nobles said Cummins slept with his gun beside him.

Noble said there was no evidence that Thomas was held against her will. Another report from The Tennessean, however, claims that Cummins threatened Thomas with consequences if she didn’t go with him.

Locals have been gathering at Hulung Beach to witness the incredible creature firsthand.

The person, who originally shared this video, Patasiwa Kumbang Amalatu believes that this creature is a decomposing humpback whale. He also said that the carcass looks like a liopleurodon wrapped in very old skin. Liopleuodrons were gigantic ancient sea creatures that existed in middle of the Jurassic Period. It’d be crazy if that beast reappeared in the Maluku Providence of Indonesia.

“These aren’t tusks,” Amalatu said. “This is its mouth, but it’s covered with decomposed skin.”

Is this a humpback whale like Amalatu thinks? Southeast Asian mammal researcher Marcus Chua thinks otherwise. Chua believes this repulsive carcass is a baleen whale.

“[Based] on the images and videos, in the advanced stage of decomposition it is not possible to determine whether that is a humpback whale or not,” Chua said. He also mentioned that there is no record of a giant squid being spotted in Indonesian waters.

Lab test are current being conducted to determine what the heck this thing is. Could it be a humpback whale? Could it be a baleen whale or giant squid? Or maybe it’s a prehistoric creature or ancient alien.

Political Flip-Flopping May Be Even Funnier Than The Memes

It wasn’t so long ago, that these same folks who are now dissing Trump for firing Comey, were also condemning Comey for “influencing the election” by announcing to the public that Hillary Clinton was being investigated (while the election was only days away). Some high-ranking Democrats even wanted Comey booted (only when Hillary shenanigans were involved).

On October 30, 2016, the then-Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid, D-Nevada, even accused Comey of breaking a federal law known as the Hatch Act, by publicly disclosing new information about the Clinton investigation 11 days ahead of the presidential election. “I am writing to inform you that my office has determined that these actions may violate the Hatch Act, which bars FBI officials from using their official authority to influence an election,” Reid wrote in the letter. “Through your partisan actions, you may have broken the law.”

US Representative of Tennessee’s 9th congressional district Steve Cohen went ahead and called for Comey’s resignation on October 31, 2016. Then when Trump fired Comey, he said that “our democracy is in danger.”

Here’s the same guy when he found out that someone he didn’t like fired the same person he wanted fired in late October. Let’s take a look at Cohen’s official opinion on Comey’s firing:

“I have said to my colleagues and to the public for over four months that FBI Director James Comey would do the right thing in the Trump-Russia investigation. I also believed President Trump wouldn’t fire him unless he felt that Director Comey threatened his presidency. This is sadly reminiscent of the Saturday Night Massacre when President Nixon fired Justice Department officials that threatened his presidency. Two days ago, I tweeted that I hoped Director Comey would be next year’s recipient of the Profiles in Courage Award because of the Trump-Russia investigation, but President Trump has effectively vetoed that award. I call on Speaker Paul Ryan to immediately appoint a bipartisan, non-classified, public, and transparent commission to investigate the Trump-Russia relationship. Our democracy is in danger.”

Nancy Pelosi once said that maybe Comey’s “not in the right job.” And then, when Trump took the matter into his own hands and fired Comey, Pelosi quickly changed her tune. Her official statement reads, “The President’s sudden and brazen firing of the FBI Director raises the ghosts of some of the worst Executive Branch abuses. We cannot stand by and watch a coverup of the possible collusion with a hostile foreign power to undermine American democracy.”

Pelosi added, “The interests of justice demand Congress act immediately to create an independent, bipartisan commission to pursue the Trump-Russia investigation free from the Administration’s attempts to silence it.”

The U.S. Representative of California’s 43rd district Maxine Waters said back on January 13, 2017, that “The FBI Director has no credibility.” Yet, she doesn’t support Trump firing Comey.

On November 2, 2016, New York Senator Chuck Schumer remarked that he had “lost confidence” in Comey over the way he handled Hillary’s e-mail probe scandal. “I do not have confidence in him any longer,” Schumer said at the time. “To restore my faith, I am going to have to sit down and talk to him and get an explanation for why he did this.”

But now, Schumer says that Trump firing is “a big mistake,” and questions whether this decision was made to avoid investigation into Russia’s meddling with November’s election. “Were these investigations getting too close to home for the president?” Schumer asked during his quickly scheduled press conference.

“This is part of a deeply troubling pattern from the Trump administration,” Schumer added. “This does not seem to be a coincidence.”

The suspect, Jennifer Laplante allegedly bought or stole baby formulas from stores, then replaced its contents with flour and returned it to the stores for a refund. Authorities suggest that she used Gerber “Good Start” Formula for the crime. On May 5th, a child was released from the hospital after becoming ill from ingesting tampered formula.

Police apprehended Laplante on Thursday, May 11th, on suspicion of fraudulent schemes and artifices and child endangerment.

Police Chief Chris Magnus warned the public of the tampered baby formula during a nighttime news conference. “We’re concerned about this and wanted to get the information out as quickly as possible to avoid any other children from becoming sick,” Magnus said.

Dr. Francisco Garcia, chief medical officer for Pima County, said that further test are being conducted to determine whether the tampered formula contained any other substances besides flour.

Authorities have pin-pointed two Fry’s grocery stores and two Wal-Mart stores as being linked to the incident. All of these stores are located on the east-side of Tucson, Arizona.

Officials at an Arkansas-based Wal-Mart were “deeply disturbed” by the baby formula incident in Tucson. “Our customers deserve safe, quality foods, and we have policies in place to help ensure that returned baby formula is not put back on our shelves,” Wal-Mart spokesman Ragan Dickens said in a statement.

A police department spokesman, Sgt. Pete Dugan, said Friday that so far that he hasn’t heard of any more tampered formula. However, detectives are still digging into the story, as they are “smack-dab in the middle of the investigation,” Dugan said. “They need to find out if there’s others involved. They need to find out if there’s other stores involved.”

Dr. Francisco Garcia said that parents shouldn’t feed their babies any formula if there is any question of possible tampering. “Those seals should be intact,” said Garcia.

Meanwhile, officials have advised recent purchasers of baby formula from Tuscon business to check the seals or containers to determine whether or not that item was tampered with.

However, this comedic icon did show up for friday’s graduation ceremony at USC. Ferrell received an honorary doctorate and made a commencement speech. He is also an alumnus of USC, where he received a bachelor’s degree in Sports Information. His words will live in infamy, for whatever reason, I don’t not know.

“I’ve already instructed my wife and my children from this point they have to address me as Dr. Ferrell,” the actor said. “There will be no exceptions, especially at our children’s various school functions, and when opening Christmas presents.”

“The next time I’m flying and they ask if there’s a doctor onboard, I can now confidently leap to my feet and scream, ‘I’m a doctor, what can I do? Yes, no problem, I can absolutely deliver that baby,’” Ferrell said. “Hopefully it will be on United Airlines, in which [case] I will immediately be subdued and dragged off the aircraft, which we all know will be recorded on someone’s iPhone and put on YouTube.”

Ferrell provided some partying words of wisdom for the graduating class.

“Enjoy the process of your search without succumbing to the pressure of results,” Ferrell told the graduates. “Trust your gut. Keep throwing darts at the dartboard. Don’t listen to the critics and you will figure it out.”

The former Saturday Night Live star ended his speech in song, as he serenaded the crowd with Whitney Houston’s “I Will Always Love You”.

Now, the Metropolitan Government is issuing an injunction to close down this church/swinger’s club for good. The complaint was filed on Thursday through the General Sessions court. The filing states that a permit had been issued to operate a church on 520 Lentz Ave in Madison, but the owner of the establishment instead opted to run a sex club.

The church/swinger’s joint is owned by Freedom 4 All, Inc, but the building is known as “The Social Club”. The owner of this outfit allegedly violated city ordinances by “maintaining a public nuisance by permitting acts of lewd conduct.” Another violation is that this club is operating within 1,000 feet of a school, which violates both city ordinances as well as the state law of Tennessee. This club is not far from the Goodpasture Christian School and a community education facility.

In March, two undercover inspectors entered this “church,” each paying $40 for entry. Inside, the club, the inspectors observed at least 100 people as well as 12 rooms, each with a bed or lounge chair within. Some of the rooms had windows to peep inside.

The Department of Codes employees allege to seeing patrons openly engaging in sexual acts, including intercourse in those rooms.

“There is no place in the world I’d rather be to give my first commencement address as president,” Trump said during his first commencement speech as POTUS.

“You’re about to begin the greatest adventure of your life,” said the President.

Trump instructs these graduating pupils to never give up, regardless of any adversity that may come their way.

Trump encouraged the 18,000 graduates in attendance to “challenge entrenched interests and failed power structures.”

“Remember this: Nothing worth doing ever, ever, ever came easy,” Trump said. “Following your convictions means you must be willing to face criticism from those who lack the same courage to do what is right, and they know what is right but they don’t have the courage or the guts or the stamina to take it and to do it.”

The 45th president of the United States called on these graduates to “treat the word ‘impossible’ as nothing more than motivation.”

“The more that a broken system tells you that you’re wrong, the more certain you must be that you must keep pushing ahead,” said Trump.

“In my short time in Washington, I’ve seen first-hand how the system is broken,” he said. “A small group of failed voices who think they know everything and understand everyone, want to tell everyone else what to do and how to live and what to think. But you aren’t going to let other people tell you what to believe, especially when you know that you’re right.”

“We don’t need a lecture from Washington, D.C., on how to lead our lives,” Trump said.

Liberty University’s President Jerry Falwell Jr. introduced The Donald and presented him with a honorary doctorate. Falwell acknowledged that the commencement crowd numbered more than 50,000, the highest ever for that school. Liberty’s president was one of President Trump’s earliest supporters. He helped Trump win an amazing 80% of the evangelical vote.

“As long as I am your president, no one is ever going to stop you from practicing your faith,” The Donald told the graduates. “Whether we are brown, black or white, we all bleed the same red blood of patriots…and we are all made by the same almighty God.”

Trump even suggested that someone from Liberty University’s 2017 graduating class may just end up president of the United States someday. If The Donald can do it, there may just be a chance for that ambitious graduate looking to shake things up and grab the world by the horns.

Trump is apparently looking for people brave enough to speak up. And don’t look at “outsider” as a dirty word. Let your haters be your motivators, and maybe you can be the leader of the free world too, someday. “Relish the opportunity to be an outsider. Embrace that label…it’s the outsiders who change the world.”

And of course, old rosy cheeks himself couldn’t help but bring up mother’s day. Trump says, “Today is your day, but in all of this excitement, don’t forget that tomorrow is Mother’s Day.”

FALSE: U.S. Department of State suspends New York Times license

Donald Trump calls this outfit “The Failing New York Times.” He thinks they’re staffed by a bunch of bad hombres looking to maliciously harm his presidency and destroy his credibility. I don’t think The New York Times needs to do that to achieve this goal, but that’s another story.

FACT: There is a story making the rounds on the web, which claims that the State Department suspended this newspaper’s operational permits after it was critical of Philippine President Rodrigo Duterte. WRONG! Times spokeswoman Danielle Rhoades Ha says that this narrative is “completely false.” In fact, there are no operational permits required for U.S. news organizations. There is also no issues with this publication’s international press credentials. A website promoting itself as CNN broke this fake news to the public, publishing a story last month that the State Department accused The Times of “breaking communication code of ethics” and claimed that this matter could cause diplomatic challenges between the Philippines and the United States.

FALSE: Sarah Palin out of her coma, able to identify her attackers

“Ms. Momma Grizzly Alaska” did not fall into a coma, this headline is complete bull-plop.

FACT: More than a dozen sites have run the same story, re-calling a fake hit-and-run accident on California’s Pacific Coast Highway, involving Palin. The news is fake, but its reported as fact. The story alleges that the former Alaska Governor awoke from her coma with the ability to identity her assailants. Palin’s spokesperson told Associated Press that these reports are “as fake as fake can be.” Each site reports the same verbatim bullsh*t. This “accident” has been fabricated to have occurred on April 28, 2017. But this wasn’t the first time that the 2008 Republican vice presidential candidate was the subject of hoax articles in the past. Ahhh, geez!

FALSE: Hobby Lobby just announced plan to close ALL stores

FACT: There was a whole lot of baloney being spread by Daily Info News, Washing Feed and other outlets stating Hobby Lobby’s CEO said they could go out business for violating the mandates of Obamacare, specifically when it relates to providing employees with access to emergency contraception. But that’s simply not true. Hobby Lobby is exempt from this guideline based on religious preferences in a 2014 Supreme Court decision. This arts and crafts retail chain currently has 700-plus stores and is planning on adding 60 more this year.

FALSE: 2 moms, 5 kids killed in car crash in (insert place here)

FACT: In June 2016, a minivan accident in South California resulted in the deaths of two mothers and four children, while both fathers survived the wreck. This is true, but multiple web sites have appropriated many details from this story and spun it into a work of fiction. The hoax story has been circulated on the web with dozens of different headlines, each changing the U.S. county where the accident occured. In some cases, they add the fathers’ names and the ages of the children vary per article.

FALSE: Pat Robertson from the “700 Club” says that David Bowie is not dead, he was kidnapped by demons summoned by rock music

FACT: Unfortunately, David Bowie is definitely dead. But this doesn’t stop others from concocting wild stories involving the ’80s pop star. The satire web site politicops.com first published this story last year, but as recent as this week, this bull-crap has been recycled by admitted hoax site uspoln.com, which has some people scratching their heads. The article begins with an accurate answer from “700 Club” host Pat Robertson to a teenager’s written question regarding whether it was OK to listen to rock music. Robertson simply replied by stating that some rock wasn’t “all that bad,” but some “is just evil.”

A spokesperson from Robertson’s Christian Broadcasting Network informed the Associated Press that their evangelist host did not make mention on David Bowie or this hair-brained theory about him being kidnapped by demons summoned by demonic rock music. Bowie passed away on January 10, 2016.

A 21-year-old Chicago man put a hospital on lock-down this Saturday afternoon for almost four hours. The incident first broke out at 12:30 P.M., all while the inmate Tywon Salters was receiving medical treatment near the emergency room. Salters decided to grab the sheriff’s deputy pistol, according to Patrick Gengler, spokesman for the Kane County, Illinois, Sheriff’s Department.

The inmate took hold of a female hospital employee. He kept his hostage in a room near the treatment area. The emergency room was evacuated, and hostage negotiators were brought in to talk with Salters for several hours.

Police and other emergency vehicles blocked off the parking lot outside the emergency room. Meanwhile, helicopters hovered overhead the Delnor-Community Hospital.

Patients were transferred to other nearby hospitals, where they are still receiving care. Kimberly Waterman, a hospital spokeswoman, said that “all of the patients are secure and safe.”

At about 4:15 P.M., this ordeal turned fatal. After negotiations fell through, a SWAT team reportedly neutralized the hostage situation in Delnor Hospital. The inmate was shot and killed. An investigation into the shooting is planned by state police.

The female ER nurse who was taken hostage was not injured.

Normal operations within Delnor’s emergency room resumed at 6 P.M. Meanwhile, ambulance service will continue, starting at 8 P.M. tonight.

Who is Tywon Salters?

Salters had been in prison for two months prior to the hostage crisis. He was charged with possession of a stolen vehicle out of Elgin, Illinois. This inmate was a patient at Delnor Hospital since May 8th. Records show that Salters was 6-foot-one-inches tall. His recorded weight was set at 155 pounds. We’ll provide more information on the deceased when that info becomes available.
